Water Sensor – Reliable Detection of Water and Condensation

For reliable detection of water and moisture, Didactum has developed the innovative water sensor. This high-quality water level sensor reliably detects not only regular tap water, but also demineralized and deionized water. Thanks to the precise technology of the humidity sensor, even leakage of battery acid from burst UPS batteries is safely detected. Manufactured in the EU, the water sensor is encapsulated in epoxy resin, making it especially robust and durable.

In addition, the sensor can be reused, making it a sustainable solution for water monitoring.

The Didactum water sensor is a modern smart home water sensor and can be used as a water detector or water alarm in a wide range of areas. It is compatible with all networked monitoring and alarm systems and can be easily connected to a sensor port of the monitoring system using an RJ-11 patch cable.

Thanks to auto-identification, the sensor is immediately recognized and displayed in the system’s web interface. Here you can individually define the desired notification and alarm type – whether via SNMP traps, email alerts, or SMS text messages (modem required).

The status of the sensor (wet/dry) can also be queried over the network or internet by SNMP-compatible SCADA software or network management systems such as Nagios, check_MK, Paessler PRTG, or WhatsUp Gold.

A special advantage of this leakage sensor is the support of actuator functions by the monitoring system. For example, in the event of water damage, an alarm siren with flashing light can be automatically activated, or building surveillance can be notified.

The water sensor thus makes a significant contribution to protecting unmanned technical rooms and sensitive areas from costly water damage. Installation of the water sensor is quick and straightforward: screws, mounting tape, and a 2-meter RJ-11 patch cable are included.
