Dry contact I/O monitoring
A dry contact is a voltage-free signal contact. Each dry contact or reed switch has two states: open or closed. Many systems and machines like air conditioners, diesel generators, fire alarm systems, etc. are equipped with dry contacts to signal conditions or alerts.
Integration of Dry Contacts into TCP/IP network monitoring
Didactum`s TCP/IP based remote monitoring devices can monitor dry contacts. You just have to connect with a two wire signal cable the dry contact of your air conditioning with the networked monitoring units from manufacturer Didactum.
Then if the air conditioner should quit the service, you will be reliable notified by Didactum`s remote monitoring device via eMail, via SMS (GSM modem required) or by siren.
If you use a network monitoring systeme(NMS) such as HP OpenView, Nagios, PRTG, OpenNMS, WhatsUp Gold, Zabbix, etc., the alert can be sent via SNMP Trap (Simple Network Management Protocol). The ideal solution for remote monitoring of unmanned rooms in remote offices.
