The Schabus WWD 200 Smart Home Adapter is a battery-powered accessory for the Schabus water detectors SHT 5000, SHT 5001 and SHT 5002. It is simply connected to the water detector and forwards its alarm messages via Wi-Fi as a push notification to the free Smart Life app on your smartphone. In the event of an alarm, the blue LED on the device itself also flashes.
The WWD 200 is powered by two AAA batteries and does not require its own power supply. It is connected to the water detector via the supplied 1.5 m connection cable and mounted on the wall nearby. The cable can be extended to up to 20 m using suitable LIYY cable. Retrofitting to an already installed water detector is possible at any time.
A stable 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network is required for setup. The WWD 200 is intended for indoor use and must not be operated outdoors.

How the WWD 200 is designed
The WWD 200 consists of a compact device housing with a permanently connected connection cable to the water detector.
Compact device housing
The white housing contains the electronics with Wi-Fi connection (802.11 b/g/n, 2.4 GHz) and the battery compartment. It is mounted on the wall near the water detector.
Battery compartment with sliding holder
The holder is slid on and removed, then the two AAA batteries are inserted. After insertion, the control LED lights up briefly in blue and then goes out.
RESET button in the battery compartment
The reset button is located in the open battery compartment. If it is pressed for at least 3 seconds, the LED starts flashing blue rapidly and the automatic network connection mode is activated. After an alarm event (and once the cause has been rectified), the adapter is also reset using the RESET button and put back into operation.
Blue control LED
The LED indicates the connection mode during setup and flashes blue on the device in the event of an alarm.
Connection cable to the water detector
The 1.5 m long connection cable is connected to the water detector SHT 5000, 5001 or 5002 according to the connection diagram in the operating instructions. Using suitable LIYY cable, it can be extended to up to 20 m so that the adapter does not have to be located directly next to the water detector.
Always informed – with the free app
The WWD 200 is integrated via the “Smart Life – Smart Living” app, which is available free of charge for Android and iOS in the respective app stores.

Commissioning in a few steps
Have the password for your Wi-Fi router ready and stay no more than 5 metres from the router during initial installation.
Connection and batteries
- Connect the WWD 200 to your water detector SHT 5000, 5001 or 5002 according to the connection diagram in the operating instructions and then mount it near the water detector. Do not operate the device outdoors.
- Slide off the holder on the device, insert the two AAA batteries and replace the holder. The blue control LED lights up briefly and then goes out.
Setup in the app
- Download the “Smart Life – Smart Living” app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
- Create a new account: select the country, enter the e-mail address and request the verification code. Enter the confirmation code received by e-mail and set a password. If you already use the app, go directly to “Add device”.
- In the app, tap + in the top right and select “Add device”, then select “Security sensor”.
- Select the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network and enter the password. Pay attention to the correct spelling (upper and lower case) and ensure that the smartphone and adapter are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Press the RESET button in the battery compartment of the WWD 200 for at least 3 seconds. The LED flashes blue rapidly and the automatic network connection mode is activated. This process may take a few minutes.
Important: If you change the Wi-Fi network, the adapter must be deleted in the app and added again in the new Wi-Fi network. If you pass the product on to a third party, always select the “Remove device” option in the settings menu beforehand.
Note on relay use: If the main relay of your SHT water detector is already being used for a control function (for example to control a pump), you will need a relay plug-in card for the additional alarm forwarding via the WWD 200. This expands the SHT 5000 by four additional relays so that several functions can be performed independently of each other.
Lithium batteries for continuous operation
The adapter operates with two AAA batteries, which are included in the scope of delivery.
Tip from Schabus: For continuous operation, use modern lithium rechargeable batteries (size AAA) with USB-C connection. These can be conveniently recharged with the smartphone cable and offer constant power output until fully discharged. With conventional batteries, on the other hand, the voltage drops slowly, which can jeopardise alarm reliability.

For your safety, the manufacturer recommends carrying out the function test monthly.
- Touch both sensor contacts with a water-soaked cloth or electrically conductive material
- The alarm triggers immediately, the LED lights up or flashes blue
- Remove the cloth or material again, the alarm stops
- The WWD 200 is automatically reset after about one second

- Read the operating instructions carefully before mounting and commissioning and keep them
- Do not operate the device outdoors
- Do not open the device; it contains no parts that can be serviced by the user
- Packaging material is not a toy and must be kept away from children
- Avoid moisture (splash or rain water), dust and direct sunlight
- Clean only with a dry linen cloth; if heavily soiled, slightly dampened; do not use solvent-based cleaning agents
- Use only for the intended purpose; other uses may cause damage
- Intended for residential areas, commercial and business premises as well as small businesses
- The manufacturer is not liable for damage or loss resulting from the fact that no alarm signal is issued despite changes in water level

Statutory warranty, guarantee and disposal
The device is covered by the statutory warranty of at least 2 years in the EU. The manufacturer Elektrotechnik Schabus also offers a 5-year guarantee that can be registered online. Repairs and spare parts are available directly from the manufacturer. In the event of a defect, please contact the manufacturer; within Germany you will receive a free return label by e-mail.
The device does not belong in household waste. The crossed-out wheeled bin symbol reminds you to use the take-back systems for waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE No. DE91394868).

How do I reset the adapter after an alarm?

Can several people receive the messages?
The device can only be controlled from one smartphone. However, the owner can invite further family members or colleagues by e-mail so that they also receive the push notifications. If they have booked the SMS function, they will also receive the SMS notification.
What should I do if the connection does not work during installation?
Network: Check whether the router supports 2.4 GHz, whether the Wi-Fi name and password have been entered correctly and whether the device is within range of the router. If the router is overloaded, it helps to temporarily disconnect some devices.
Device: Reset the device using the RESET button and make sure that the LED flashes during connection. Wait about 10 seconds to confirm the flashing before continuing. Also check whether a firmware update is available.
App: Use the current app version, check the app permissions for Wi-Fi and location, clear the app cache if necessary or reinstall the app.
Connection process: In the app go to “Add device” or the plus symbol, select the appropriate device category and the Wi-Fi type.
What do I need to bear in mind when changing the Wi-Fi network?
The adapter must be deleted in the app and added again in the new Wi-Fi network.
How long is the guarantee valid?
The statutory warranty of at least 2 years in the EU applies. In addition, the manufacturer Schabus offers a 5-year guarantee that can be registered online.
