GX-CO Gas Sensor

GX-CO Carbon Monoxide Sensor: Making the Invisible Threat Visible – Safety for Heating Systems, Fireplaces, and Garages

Carbon monoxide is the silent killer: colorless, odorless, deadly – yet it is produced with every incomplete combustion process in a heating system, fireplace, or vehicle.

The GX-CO sensor from Elektrotechnik Schabus GmbH & Co. KG is your vigilant protector: a high-precision electrochemical detector that reliably detects CO concentrations as low as 30 ppm – long before health effects or poisoning can occur.

As an external sensor for the GX-A1+ and GX-HS gas warning devices (or even the GX-C2 plug-in gas detector), it integrates seamlessly into your safety network via RJ connector. Whether installed in boiler rooms with gas burners, living rooms with wood stoves, underground garages with running engines, or technical rooms with backup generators – the GX-CO continuously monitors at head height, where CO distributes evenly.

With a 2.5 m cable, mounting accessories, and a detailed manual included, installation by qualified personnel is quick and straightforward. Made in Germany, the GX-CO stands for long-term stability, minimal drift, and uncompromising prevention – because your safety allows no compromises.

The GX-CO’s technology is based on an electrochemical sensing element specially optimized for CO detection: when exposed to carbon monoxide, it generates a proportional change in current, which is precisely converted into ppm values. Starting from 30 ppm, the sensor sends a clear signal to the connected warning device – which then triggers audible and visual alarms, activates ventilation, opens gates, or alerts building management systems.

The measurement is highly selective, low-drift, and long-lasting – hallmarks of German engineering. The 2.5 m connection cable (3x0.75 mm²) can be extended if required: up to 10 m with 0.75 mm² or up to 20 m with 1.5 mm² cross-section. Installation at breathing height (approx. 1.5–1.8 m) is ideal since CO has approximately the same density as air. Important: The GX-CO is a technical monitoring sensor – it supplements but does not replace certified carbon monoxide alarms for personal protection (e.g., EN 50291 compliant devices).

In combination with Schabus warning systems, it forms an intelligent solution that not only warns but acts automatically. The GX-CO: precision that protects lives – day after day, year after year.

The GX-CO is more than a component – it’s the safety foundation in all areas where combustion processes occur. Whether in gas boilers, oil heaters, fireplaces, CHP units, or garages with exhaust fumes: a technical failure, clogged flue, or running engine can have fatal consequences. The GX-CO detects such problems early – before CO contaminates the air.

Its excellent long-term stability minimizes maintenance requirements, while the robust design ensures reliability even under demanding conditions. Installers appreciate its straightforward integration; operators value its automatic response. With the GX-CO, you invest in peace of mind – the peace that comes from knowing a German high-tech system is watching over your family, employees, and equipment. It’s the difference between “all good” and “good thing we were prepared.” GX-CO: technology you can trust.

The GX-CO impresses with technical excellence:

  • Electrochemical precision: Detects CO from 30 ppm – highly selective, low-drift, and durable.
  • Plug & Play connection: RJ plug for GX-A1+, GX-HS, and GX-C2 – integration within seconds.
  • Flexible installation: 2.5 m cable (3x0.75 mm²), includes screws, wall plugs, and manual – ideal mounting at head height.
  • Cable extension: Up to 10 m (0.75 mm²) or 20 m (1.5 mm²) – compliant and safe.
  • Technical monitoring: Complements personal protection detectors – for heating, fireplaces, and garages.
  • Automatic response: Sends signal to warning device – activates ventilation, shutdown, and alarm systems.
  • Made in Germany: Highest quality, service, and compatibility from Schabus.

Applications: Where the GX-CO is indispensable

The GX-CO provides reliable combustion safety across a wide range of residential and technical environments:

  • Boiler rooms: Monitors gas and oil burners, boilers – detects exhaust backflow early.
  • Fireplaces & wood stoves: Warns in case of incomplete combustion or flue obstruction.
  • Underground garages & workshops: Detects CO from vehicle exhaust – prevents poisoning.
  • Backup power & CHP units: Secures generators and combined heat and power systems – for 24/7 operation.
  • Residential buildings: Complements smoke alarms in rooms with gas appliances or fireplaces.
  • Commercial & industrial sites: Monitors process emissions, combustion chambers, drying systems.
  • Smart home & building automation: Integrates into automation systems – triggers automatic ventilation in case of CO detection.

With the GX-CO, you invest in prevention that works – before CO becomes dangerous. It’s the smart complement to your gas warning system and a clear commitment to safety and responsibility. Easy handling, high reliability, and German-made quality make it the first choice for homeowners, installers, and facility managers. Order now and breathe freely – with a sensor that stays alert while you sleep.
