The Schabus Mini Horn Warning Light (Q-Light) is a compact combination unit consisting of an acoustic signal generator and an optical LED warning indicator for external alarming in the event of technical faults. A signal funnel horn and an LED flashing light with a diameter of 70 mm are housed in an impact-resistant ABS enclosure. The device is operated directly on 230 V AC, no power supply unit is required, and is supplied ready for connection with a pre-assembled cable.
Sound and light can be controlled completely independently of each other: flash only, sound only, or both at the same time, exactly as the situation requires. The LED can be set to continuous light or flashing light via an integrated switch. This makes the device adaptable to a wide range of applications.
The Mini Horn Warning Light is ideal as an external signal device in conjunction with the SHT 5001 water detector, the SHT 5002 level controller, the GX-HS gas warning device and other DIN-rail warning systems without an integrated buzzer. For example, in the event of an alarm in the basement, a clearly perceptible signal can be issued in the living area or hallway, even in daylight or if someone is hard of hearing.
Important note: Connection may only be carried out by qualified electricians; the power must be switched off before any work is performed. The combination warning light must always be mounted so that the sound opening faces downwards. Mounting with the sound opening facing upwards can allow moisture to enter and impair the function.

How the Mini Horn Warning Light is constructed
From top to bottom, the device consists of the light dome, the LED module with operating mode switch, the enclosure with connection cable and the signal funnel horn.
Light dome
The red polycarbonate light dome covers the LED light and ensures a far-reaching visible light. It must always remain freely visible and must not be covered. To change the operating mode, the light dome is removed; the power must be switched off beforehand.
Switch for the operating mode (L / LF)
Under the light dome is the switch for the light function. Position L means continuous light (factory setting), position LF means flashing light.
LED module
The LED module generates the bright warning light, either as continuous light or as flashing light. It is controlled separately from the horn via its own conductor.
ABS enclosure with mounting and connection cable
The impact-resistant ABS enclosure houses the electronics and carries the mounting for wall installation with the fixing holes on the side. The connection cable is already pre-assembled: black = common supply, red = light, brown = signal horn. This allows the light and signal tone to be controlled independently of each other.
Signal funnel horn
At the bottom of the device is the funnel horn (piezo) with the sound opening. It generates the loud signal tone. The sound opening must face downwards during mounting so that no water can enter, and must not be covered so that the sound can propagate unhindered.

Mounting the Mini Horn Warning Light
- Choose a low-vibration mounting location so that the device works reliably.
- Mount the device vertically; the sound opening always faces downwards and the light dome remains freely visible. Only then is protection class IP54 achieved.
- Do not cover the light or the sound opening. The signal tone must be able to radiate unhindered.
- Avoid mounting in the immediate vicinity of heat sources as well as in areas with high dust exposure or permanent moisture.
- For outdoor mounting, the signal opening must face downwards so that no water can enter.
- Do not overtighten the fixing screws to avoid damage to the enclosure.
Connecting the Mini Horn Warning Light
- Switch off the power before any work. Connection may only be carried out by qualified electricians.
- The warning light is connected to 230 V AC. The connection cables are already pre-assembled; with alternating voltage, polarity does not need to be observed.
- Connection assignment: black = common supply, red = light, brown = signal horn. Light and sound are switched separately via the red and brown conductors, for example via potential-free contacts.
- Unused connection cables must be insulated. A short circuit of the control cables must be strictly avoided.
Commissioning and operating mode
- After the operating voltage is applied, the device is ready for operation immediately. Continuous light is preset at the factory (switch on L).
- For flashing light, switch off the power first, remove the light dome and set the switch to LF. Then replace the light dome.
Troubleshooting: No light or no signal tone? Possible causes are missing operating voltage, incorrect wiring, a damaged connection cable or an incorrectly set operating mode. Check the power supply and the connection cables.

The device is covered by the statutory warranty of at least 2 years in the EU. The manufacturer Elektrotechnik Schabus additionally offers a 5-year guarantee that can be registered online. In the event of a defect, please contact the manufacturer; within Germany you will receive a free returns label by email. The device must be adequately packaged and must have been used in accordance with the operating instructions.
