The Akuvox AV-S560 is a SIP-based home phone in classic handset format that focuses on the essential intercom functions: answering calls and opening the door. With its compact, minimalist design, it is particularly suitable for smaller rooms and serves ideally as an additional extension in an existing Akuvox system, for example in a bedroom, hallway or secondary room.

The AV-S560 can be either wall-mounted or placed freely on a surface. Connection is via Ethernet (RJ45, 10/100 Mbps) with Power-over-Ethernet according to 802.3af, or alternatively via a 12 V DC connection if no PoE is available.

The AV-S560 is deliberately designed in classic handset format and does without a display to remain particularly simple to operate.

Plastic Housing in Handset Format

The front is made of plastic and has a slim, vertical shape reminiscent of a classic telephone handset.

Speakers for Ringtone and Conversation

Two separate speakers handle playback: one for the ringtone, a second for the actual conversation on the handset.

For voice transmission, the AV-S560 uses SIP versions v1 (RFC2543) and v2 (RFC3261) as well as the audio codecs PCMU, PCMA, G.729 and G.722, supplemented by echo cancellation, voice activity detection, automatic gain control and a comfort noise generator. On the network side, the device supports among other things IPv4, HTTP(S), FTP, SNMP, DNS, NTP, RTSP, RTP, TCP, UDP, ICMP, DHCP and ARP.
