The Web Thermometer 2x by Wiesemann & Theis is a powerful, network-enabled measuring device with two independent Pt100/Pt1000 measurement inputs for the range of -200 °C to +650 °C. Two Independent Pt100/Pt1000 Inputs

The Web Thermometer 2x features two galvanically isolated measurement inputs, each supporting Pt100 and Pt1000 sensors in 2-, 3-, or 4-wire configuration.

Each input covers the full range from -200 °C to +650 °C and automatically compensates for lead resistance.

One high-quality Pt100 probe (-50 °C … +180 °C, 2 m cable) is included; the second probe can be freely selected. Typical applications include simultaneous monitoring of supply/exhaust air in HVAC systems, indoor/outdoor temperatures, or differential temperature measurement for optimizing climate control.

Powerful Data Logger and Cloud Connectivity

Both temperature channels are recorded independently. The internal data logger stores measured values depending on the sampling rate (15 s to 60 min) between 16 weeks and 20 years. The battery-buffered real-time clock remains synchronized even during power outages (NTP synchronization). Measurement data can be automatically uploaded via FTP, email attachment, or directly to the W&T Cloud – providing worldwide access to historical data at any time.

Modern Industry 4.0 Interfaces

The Web Thermometer 2x is fully prepared for Industry 4.0:

  • MQTT – direct connection to IoT platforms
  • REST API – easy integration into custom applications
  • OPC UA – standard in industrial automation
  • Modbus TCP – connection to PLC and SCADA systems
  • SNMP v1/v2c/v3 – integration into existing monitoring systems

Current measurement values from both channels can be dynamically integrated into dashboards or building management systems using JavaScript (AJAX).

Flexible Alarming – Including Differential Alarms

Up to 12 individual alarms per channel can be freely configured (threshold, hysteresis, delay). In addition, combined alarms (e.g., difference between channel 1 and 2) can be defined. When thresholds are exceeded, the device automatically sends:

  • Email notifications (including periodic reports)
  • SNMP traps
  • Syslog messages
  • MQTT publish
  • TCP/UDP messages

Especially in data centers, differential temperature monitoring enables precise climate control and contributes to a Green IT strategy.

Easy Installation and Reliable Power Supply

The device is preferably powered via Power-over-Ethernet (PoE Class 1, max. 3.84 W) – ideal for cabinet or ceiling installation.

Alternatively, external power via 12–48 V DC through pluggable screw terminals is available. The RJ45 network interface is galvanically isolated (≥ 1500 V) and supports 10/100 Mbit/s with Auto-MDIX.
