Poseidon T-Box RJ11

The 1-Wire distributor for up to 5 sensors on one Poseidon or Ares port

The HW group Poseidon T-Box RJ11 is a passive hub for connecting sensors via the 1-Wire bus to devices of the Poseidon2 and Ares 10/12 family. The 1-Wire bus is carried via standard telephone cables and RJ11 connectors (or RJ12). The T-Box splits a single RJ11 port of a Poseidon or Ares device into up to 5 sensor ports.

As long as the maximum permissible total cable length of the 1-Wire bus is observed, multiple T-Box hubs can also be connected in series in order to connect even more sensors to a single port. The Poseidon T-Box RJ11 is offered as a single version – there are no variants or options.

One port becomes five – simple and passive

The T-Box is a purely passive distributor without its own power supply or electronics in the true sense.

🔀

Hub for the RJ11 bus

Splits the 1-Wire bus of a single RJ11 port on the Poseidon or Ares device into 5 separate connections.

🔌

Up to 5 sensors per port

Up to 5 1-Wire sensors can be connected simultaneously to a single active RJ11 port of the Poseidon or Ares device via the T-Box.

➕

Connectable in series

Multiple T-Box hubs can be connected one after the other, as long as the permissible total cable length of the 1-Wire bus is not exceeded.

🧩

Compatible with Poseidon & Ares

Usable with devices of the Poseidon family (including Poseidon2) as well as with the Ares 10/12 models from HW group.

How the Poseidon T-Box RJ11 is designed

The small plastic housing (approx. 116 x 55 x 37 mm, approx. 36 g) is designed for simple use in technical and server rooms and is suitable for operating temperatures from -30 °C to 70 °C (0–100 % RH) as well as a storage environment of -30 °C to 60 °C (5–95 % RH).

1

Compact plastic housing

Lightweight, freestanding housing without its own electronics or power supply – the T-Box operates purely passively as a cable distributor for the 1-Wire bus.

2

One RJ11 input to the Poseidon/Ares device

One RJ11 connection links the T-Box to an active 1-Wire port of the Poseidon or Ares device and feeds the bus into the housing.

3

Five RJ11 outputs for sensors

Five further RJ11 connections distribute the incoming 1-Wire bus to up to 5 external 1-Wire sensors, which are connected via telephone cable.

4

Cascadeable

A further T-Box hub can be connected to one of the five outputs in order to further increase the number of sensor connections – limited by the permissible total length of the 1-Wire bus.

Suitable for the Poseidon and Ares product family

The T-Box was specifically developed for connection to 1-Wire-capable RJ11 ports of the following device families.

  • Poseidon2 (including Poseidon2 3268, Poseidon2 3468, Poseidon2 4002)
  • Ares 10 / Ares 12
  • Earlier Poseidon generations with RJ11 1-Wire connection

Connection in just a few steps

The T-Box requires no configuration of its own and is integrated purely physically into the cabling.

  1. Connect the T-Box with an RJ11 telephone cable to an active 1-Wire port of the Poseidon or Ares device
  2. Connect up to 5 external 1-Wire sensors to the free RJ11 connections of the T-Box
  3. If more than 5 sensor connections are required, connect a further T-Box hub in series to a free output
  4. Always observe the maximum permissible total cable length of the 1-Wire bus of the respective Poseidon/Ares device
  5. The connected sensors appear automatically in the configuration interface of the Poseidon or Ares device

Why the Poseidon T-Box RJ11 is the right choice

Simple expansion

One RJ11 port becomes five – without additional configuration.

Passive & maintenance-free

No separate power supply or software required.

Cascadeable

Multiple T-Boxes can be connected in series.

Compact & lightweight

Small housing weighing only approx. 36 g.

Wide compatibility

Suitable for Poseidon2 and Ares 10/12 devices.

24-month warranty

According to the manufacturer with 24 months warranty from the date of purchase.

Practical application examples

  • Connection of multiple temperature sensors to a single Poseidon port
  • Expansion of an Ares 12 device with additional 1-Wire sensors
  • Setup of branched sensor networks in monitoring systems
💡

Practical example: On a Poseidon2 device, a single RJ11 port is to monitor several temperature sensors in different areas of a server room at the same time. Instead of connecting each sensor individually to its own port, a Poseidon T-Box RJ11 is inserted which distributes the port to up to 5 sensor connections. If even more sensors are required, a further T-Box can be connected in series to one of the free outputs.

Frequently asked questions

What is the HW group Poseidon T-Box RJ11 and what is it used for?

The Poseidon T-Box RJ11 is a passive hub that splits a single RJ11 1-Wire port of a Poseidon or Ares device into up to 5 sensor connections. It is used when more 1-Wire sensors need to be connected than the port of the device directly provides.

Are there different variants or options?

No. The Poseidon T-Box RJ11 is offered as a single version. There are no variants or options for this accessory.

How many sensors can be connected via one T-Box?

One T-Box splits an active RJ11 port of the Poseidon or Ares device into up to 5 sensor connections. If more connections are required, multiple T-Box hubs can be connected in series, as long as the permissible total cable length of the 1-Wire bus is observed.

Which devices is the T-Box compatible with?

The T-Box is designed for connection to devices of the Poseidon family (including Poseidon2) as well as to the Ares 10/12 models from HW group that have a 1-Wire-capable RJ11 port.

Does the T-Box require its own power supply or configuration?

No. The T-Box is a purely passive cable distributor without its own power supply or software configuration. Connected sensors are automatically detected via the respective Poseidon or Ares device.

Can multiple T-Boxes be combined?

Yes. As long as the maximum permissible total cable length of the 1-Wire bus of the respective Poseidon or Ares device is not exceeded, multiple T-Box hubs can be connected in series in order to further increase the number of sensor connections.
