The Complete 1U 19" Solution for Rack Monitoring with LTE Backup

The HW group Perseus Monitoring 155 is a comprehensive 1U solution for a 19" rack monitoring system, designed for data centers, AV installations, telecommunications facilities and other technical environments. The device uses LAN as the primary connection and LTE as a backup connection if LAN is not available. It connects external physical sensors (°C, %RH, A, V, …), digital inputs (DI), one WLD zone (water leak detection), relay outputs (DO) and third-party meters via LAN or RS-485 (Modbus/RTU).

All sensor data from these sources is analyzed and processed by the Perseus device – with a capacity of up to 100 meters or 1,000 values (variables). A unique feature of the Perseus family is the ability to integrate further HWg devices connected via LAN as external meters. Local conditions, Lua scripting and a calendar support the evaluation of the measured data. For e-mail alarming, use of the portal is recommended – with a combination of LAN and LTE connectivity it is faster and more reliable.

Sensors, Detectors, LTE Backup and Other Network Devices in a 1U System

The Perseus Monitoring 155 combines classic sensor connections with the evaluation of other devices on the same LAN – flexibly powered via 9-30V, -48V or PoE, and with an LTE modem as connection backup.

Individually Selectable: Base Unit or Starter Set

The Perseus Monitoring 155 is available either as a pure base unit or as a complete temperature monitoring starter set. The desired variant is selected directly above the shopping cart.

How the Perseus Monitoring 155 Is Built

The robust metal housing is designed as a 1U 19" rack device measuring approx. 35 x 111 x 290 mm (W x H x D), with protection class IP40 and designed for operating temperatures from -30°C to 65°C.

Evaluate Sensor Data from Other LAN Devices as Well

The Meters API is a unique feature of the Perseus product line: the device additionally reads sensor values from external LAN devices and includes them in analyses and alarms.

Commissioning in a Few Steps

Setting up the Perseus Monitoring 155 is done entirely via the web browser.

1. Mount the device in a 19" rack or place it freestanding
2. Select power supply: 9–30 V DC, -48V DC or PoE via the Ethernet port (power supply already included with the Tset variant)
3. Connect the device to the network via Ethernet cable
4. Optional: insert SIM card and screw the LTE antenna onto the SMA connector (antenna included with the Tset variant; SIM card not included with either variant)
5. Open the device’s IP address in the browser (initial search e.g. possible with HWg-Config)
6. Connect 1-Wire UNI sensors to the RJ11 ports or Modbus/RTU devices to the RS-485 terminal block
7. Optional: wire the WLD sensor cable, dry contacts and relay outputs
8. Optional: configure alarm rules, Lua scripts or the connection to SensDesk/HWg-cloud.com
