DIN-Rail Expansion for 10 Digital Inputs and 4 Relay Outputs
The HW group RTU-Expander 1004 is a 6-module DIN-rail device with an RS-485 Modbus-RTU interface. It provides 10 digital inputs with counters and 4 digital relay outputs, extending the I/O capabilities of the Perseus Industrial devices via Modbus/RTU.
Multiple RTU-Expanders can be daisy-chained via the RS-485 terminal block of the Perseus device. All devices in this chain can be powered with a nominal voltage of 12 V (GND and +U) via the RS-485 terminal block.

The RTU-Expander 1004 detects dry contacts and switches external loads when needed.

RS-485 Connection and Daisy-Chain

Power Supply
All RTU-Expanders connected in the chain are powered with a nominal voltage of 12 V (GND and +U) via the same RS-485 terminal block; a separate power supply is not required.

10 screw-terminal inputs for dry contacts with S0 pulse counters (compliant with EN 62053-31, Class B), e.g. for smoke detectors, door contacts, motion sensors or power failure detectors.
Relay Outputs (DO)

Commissioning in a Few Steps
The RTU-Expander 1004 is connected as an I/O expansion to a Perseus Industrial device.
- Mount the RTU-Expander on the DIN rail next to the Perseus Industrial device
- Connect the RTU-Expander to the Perseus Industrial device via the RS-485 terminal block (if necessary with the RTU-Connection cable)
- Optional: chain additional RTU-Expanders via the same RS-485 terminal block (daisy-chain)
