The HW group Perseus Industrial 315 is a scalable DIN-rail unit for monitoring and control in industrial, infrastructure, and environmental applications. It connects physical sensors, digital inputs/outputs, WLD cables (water leak detection), and third-party meters via LAN or Modbus/RTU. Thanks to versatile alarm options, open APIs, and portal support, it is ideal for professional remote monitoring and site automation.
The expandable architecture is based on RTU and DIN-rail expanders, allowing multiple inputs/outputs to be connected in different combinations. The Perseus Industrial 315 combines data from externally connected sensors, detectors, and meters with data from other HWg devices on the LAN. An integrated LTE modem serves as an SMS gateway for the device itself as well as for other connected HW group devices and additionally provides a backup connection to the portal.
Sensors, meters, and WLD cables on the DIN rail
The Perseus Industrial 315 combines direct sensor connections, fieldbus connectivity, and water leak detection in a compact DIN-rail device.
2x RJ11 (1-Wire UNI)
Up to two 1-Wire UNI sensors per port, e.g. for temperature, humidity, voltage, or current.
RS-485 (Modbus/RTU)
1x terminal block with 12V for connecting third-party meters, UPS, or climate systems.
WLD-L / WLD
1 zone for a locating WLD-L sensor cable or 2 zones for classic WLD sensor cables (A/B).
5x DI / 2x DO
Five S0 pulse digital inputs (EN 62053-31 Class B) and two relay outputs.
Integrated LTE modem
Serves as an SMS gateway for the device and other HWg devices as well as a backup connection to the portal.
Individually expandable: RTU expanders & power supply
The Perseus Industrial 315 can be precisely adapted to the application via DIN-rail expanders and by selecting the power supply.
Please note: The RTU expanders listed below are separate expansion modules and are not automatically included with the Perseus Industrial 315. A SIM card for the integrated LTE modem is also not included in the scope of delivery.

How the Perseus Industrial 315 is designed
The plastic housing for DIN-rail mounting is compact at approximately 105 x 90 x 57 mm (W x H x D) and weighs about 253 g, with IP40 protection rating.
DIN-rail housing
Compact plastic housing for mounting on a 35 mm DIN rail in control cabinets or technical rooms.
Ethernet & web server
One RJ45 Ethernet port (100BASE-T) connects the device to the network; an integrated web server enables configuration directly via the browser.
LTE modem with SIM card slot
A SIM card slot and a connector for an external SMA antenna enable operation of the integrated LTE modem as a backup connection and SMS gateway; a SIM card is not included in the scope of delivery.
Sensor and fieldbus connections
Two RJ11 ports for 1-Wire/1-Wire UNI sensors and one RS-485 terminal block (including 12V) for Modbus/RTU devices.
WLD-L, DI, and DO terminals
One 4-pin WLD-L connector (optionally 1 locating zone or 2 classic WLD zones), five S0 pulse digital inputs, and two relay outputs (up to 50V/1000mA).
Power supply
Connection optionally via barrel jack, terminal block (12–30V or -48V), or Power over Ethernet (PoE).
Status LEDs
Multiple LEDs on the front of the device indicate, among other things, operating, alarm, and WLD status.
Scalable RTU DIN-rail architecture
The Perseus Industrial 315 starts with 5 digital inputs (S0 pulse counters) and 2 relay outputs. Using DIN-rail RTU expanders, the number of inputs and outputs can be precisely scaled according to the application.

Locating water leak detection
The 4-pin WLD-L connector of the Perseus Industrial 315 can be used in two operating modes.
- 1x WLD-L sensor cable for locating detection of the leak position along the cable
- Alternatively 2x classic WLD sensor cables (type A/B) for simple yes/no detection of a water leak
- Suitable for use in technical rooms, racks, warehouses, and other infrastructure sites
Evaluate sensor data from other LAN devices as well
The Meters API allows the Perseus Industrial 315 to read values from other HWg devices (e.g. STE2 R2) over LAN and use them for local conditions, alarms, scripts, or portal visualization. This turns the device not only into a sensor but also into a local data concentrator for distributed monitoring systems.

Commissioning in a few steps
- Mount the device on the DIN rail, optionally add the desired RTU expanders
