Vision V-MAX 100 12V Swing Handle

Patented Mechatronic Swing Handle for Remote Unlocking of Racks and Cabinets

The Vision V-MAX 100 12V is a patented mechatronic swing handle from the manufacturer Industrilas AG that can be remotely unlocked via a Didactum Monitoring System. As soon as a 12V relay signal from the Monitoring System is applied, the handle unlocks and can then be opened manually by simply turning it – ideal for server racks, control cabinets, and other enclosures where physical access is to be controlled and logged centrally.

When the handle is returned to the closed position, it locks automatically, or it remains open as long as the unlock signal continues to be applied. Via the potential-free output (dry contact) of the lock, the current locking status can additionally be reported back to a corresponding input of the Monitoring System, so that it is always clear whether a door is locked or unlocked.

Design of the Vision V-MAX 100 12V

The swing handle consists of several robust components that together ensure stability, anti-tampering protection, and easy maintenance.

Handle & Recess

Made of die-cast zinc and finished with a black structured powder coating for high mechanical strength and a durable, industrial look.

Pivot Pin

Galvanized die-cast zinc component that transfers the turning movement of the handle to the locking mechanism.

Sealed Dust Cap

Made of glass-fiber-reinforced polyamide (PA6GF30), covers the override cylinder behind it and can be easily replaced when the handle is open.

Override Cylinder

Vertically mounted mechanical emergency cylinder behind the dust cap, accessible only if the cap is damaged or removed – as a mechanical fallback level.

An NBR O-ring additionally seals the handle mechanism. The scope of delivery includes a four-meter connection cable via which the handle is connected to the 12V relay output of the Monitoring System. The handle can optionally also be ordered without a dust cap.

From Release Signal to Opened Door

As soon as the Monitoring System – for example after successful authentication via an access control system – sends a 12V relay signal to the swing handle, it unlocks the locking mechanism. The door can then be opened manually by simply turning the handle. When the handle is returned to the closed position, it locks automatically – or it remains unlocked as long as the release signal continues to be applied, for example during planned maintenance.

The patented locking mechanism additionally features an anti-tampering function that makes unauthorized interference with the handle more difficult. Via the potential-free dry-contact output of the lock, the locking status can be continuously reported back to the Monitoring System.

💡

Practical example: A technician authenticates at the server rack using a card reader. The access control system forwards the release to the Didactum Monitoring System, which then sends a 12V relay signal to the Vision V-MAX 100. The technician opens the cabinet by turning the handle, performs the maintenance, and closes it again – the handle locks automatically, and the Monitoring System logs the process via the reported locking status.

Connection to the Didactum Monitoring System

The Vision V-MAX 100 12V is connected via the supplied four-meter connection cable to a 12V relay output of a Didactum Monitoring System. If the Monitoring System in use does not have its own 12V relay output, an external relay module such as the Didactum DIN Rail 12V Relay Switching Module can alternatively be interposed to control the swing handle. Feedback of the locking status is provided via the potential-free output of the lock, which is connected to a dry-contact input of the Monitoring System.

ℹ️

Note: Up to two Vision V-MAX 100 swing handles can be controlled simultaneously per Monitoring System.

Installation in Rack and Control Cabinet

The Vision V-MAX 100 12V is installed in the industry-wide standardized cut-out (Version C), which is already provided in most common server racks and control cabinets. Thanks to this standardization, the handle is fully modular and can be combined with all Vision locking systems (rod and bolt systems) from the manufacturer, allowing it to be flexibly integrated into existing cabinet concepts.

Application Areas of the Vision V-MAX 100 12V

  • Central remote unlocking of server racks in data centers and server rooms
  • Integration into access control systems for fully logged rack access
  • Securing of control cabinets in technical and industrial environments

Frequently Asked Questions

How is the swing handle unlocked?

The handle unlocks as soon as a 12V relay signal from the Didactum Monitoring System is applied. It can then be opened manually by simply turning it. When turned back to the closed position, it locks automatically, or it remains unlocked as long as the release signal continues to be applied.

Is the Vision V-MAX 100 a Didactum product?

No. The Vision V-MAX 100 12V is a swing handle from the manufacturer Industrilas AG that can be controlled as a third-party component via the 12V relay output of a Didactum Monitoring System.

How many swing handles can I connect to one Monitoring System?

Up to two Vision V-MAX 100 swing handles can be controlled simultaneously per Monitoring System.

What happens if the handle cannot be controlled via a direct 12V output of the Monitoring System?

In this case, an external relay module such as the Didactum DIN Rail 12V Relay Switching Module can be interposed, which is triggered via a dry-contact output of the Monitoring System and supplies the swing handle with the required 12V signal.

What is located behind the dust cap?

Behind the sealed dust cap is a vertically mounted override cylinder as a mechanical emergency opening. It is only accessible if the dust cap is damaged, and can be easily replaced when the handle is open. The handle can optionally also be ordered without a dust cap.

In which cut-out is the handle installed?

The Vision V-MAX 100 12V is installed in the industry-wide standardized cut-out Version C, which is provided in most common racks and control cabinets, and can be combined with all Vision locking systems.
