The PIN Code Reader with Secure OSDPv2 Interface
The Idesco 8 CD 2.0 MI OSDPv2 is an access control reader that combines PIN code identification with the reading of MIFARE transponder cards. It is offered exclusively in the OSDPv2 version: instead of classic Wiegand, RS-232, RS-485, or Clock&Data wiring, this reader communicates with the access control panel via the modern, bidirectional, encrypted OSDPv2 protocol.
The "MI" designation identifies the version that, in addition to physical MIFARE cards, also supports mobile access credentials via smartphone — the manufacturer explicitly points to a version with mobile credential support.
The eco-sensitive plastic housing uses less potting compound and less power than classic readers, and is available as standard in black. The reader is available in either the slim VS Pin or the compact VM Pin design.
Please note: Only the OSDPv2 variant is offered and sold here. Other versions are available on request.
PIN Code and MIFARE Card in One Device
The 8 CD 2.0 MI OSDPv2 can be operated both via the keypad and via a transponder card.
MIFARE Card Reader
Supports DESFire EV1/EV2/EV3, Classic, Ultralight, Plus, and SmartMX in Classic emulation mode.
RGB Status LED
Freely configurable RGB LED for feedback on access status, controllable via wiring or OSDPv2 command.
Configurable Buzzer
Built-in buzzer with adjustable tone patterns, also controllable via wiring or OSDPv2 command.
How the 8 CD 2.0 MI OSDPv2 Is Built
Despite its compact design, the reader combines a keypad, card reader, optical tamper protection, and status indicators in a single enclosed plastic housing.
Black Plastic Housing
The housing is made of impact-resistant plastic (flammability rating UL94 HB horizontal / UL94 V-2 vertical) and comes in black as standard. Customized versions with a sticker or custom programming are available on request.
Backlit Keypad
Depending on the design, a 2×6 or a 3×4 keypad is installed, each with a tactile orientation marker on key 5. The key backlighting is continuously adjustable.
13.56 MHz RFID Antenna
Behind the front panel sits the read antenna for MIFARE transponders, which can capture 4-byte, 7-byte, or both UID lengths, as required.
Optical Tamper Protection
A configurable optical tamper sensor detects forced opening or removal of the housing.
Connection via OSDPv2
The reader is connected using a 3-meter LIYY cable, available with or without a connector, and communicates with the access control panel exclusively via the encrypted OSDPv2 interface.
Available as VS Pin and VM Pin
The 8 CD 2.0 MI OSDPv2 is available in two different designs, which differ primarily in size, housing shape, and keypad layout.
Please note: The desired design must be selected above the cart button under "Select design." Only the OSDPv2 variant is offered — other interface variants are not part of this listing.
VS Pin
Slim, elongated design measuring 148 × 45 mm. Depth 25 mm for the cable version, or 25 mm + 10 mm for the connector version. Equipped with a 2×6 keypad.
VM Pin
More compact design measuring 126 × 84 mm. Depth 28 mm for the cable version, or 28 mm + 9 mm for the connector version. Equipped with a 3×4 keypad and also suitable for installation in a standard flush-mount electrical box.
