4 Ports for IP Sensors - Expandable to up to 32 Sensors on Request

The IP-capable temperature sensor is already included in the delivery scope of the network-based Monitoring System 100, so you essentially receive an IP or web thermometer. Simply connect the factory long-term calibrated temperature sensor with the included 2-meter long RJ-11 patch cable. Optionally, the temperature sensor can be placed up to 100 meters away from the LAN-based monitoring system.

Then simply connect the sensor cable to one of the 4 sensor ports of the IP alarm device. Through auto-identification, the sensor is automatically recognized and network-based real-time temperature recording starts. Via web browser, you simply log into the alarm system and can then assign an individual name to the temperature sensor (e.g. Temperature Sensor Server Cabinet 1). Then you easily set individual threshold values (very low / low critical / normal / high warning / alarm) and the desired notifications and alarms regarding temperature.

In addition to 4 analog sensor ports, the latest model of IT monitoring systems offers a CAN bus port. CAN stands for Controller Area Network and is a bus system that has been proven in industry for many years. Digital CAN sensors or CAN units are connected to the CAN bus port of the networked Didactum monitoring system. By simply connecting the sensor expansion unit, the total number of sensors to be monitored can be increased. Up to 8 different analog sensors are connected to each sensor expansion unit and recognized by the IT monitoring system through auto-identification.

The powerful ARM CPU of this IP monitoring system allows real-time based measurement and monitoring of up to 32 analog or digital sensors. The total length of the CAN bus can be up to 230 meters, supporting flexible sensor installation in the (IT) rooms to be monitored. With the Monitoring System 100, you receive a networked monitoring system that will certainly meet future requirements.

Integrated Data Logger Including Visualization and Export of Sensor Measurement Data

The measurement data is stored in the built-in data storage of the LAN-supported measurement and monitoring device. Directly in the German-language web interface, you can have the measurement diagrams displayed graphically and thus comprehensively evaluate critical environmental factors, such as temperature or humidity. For reports and documentation requirements, the measurement data can be exported directly from the measurement and monitoring device in XML or CSV file format and further processed with common spreadsheet programs (Excel, Numbers, etc.). Transmission of current measurement data via TCP/IP network (SNMP traps or SNMP Get) is also supported by the IP-based measurement technology.

Monitor Digital / Potential-free Contacts via LAN

Many systems and equipment for security, home and building technology are equipped with relays or alarm contacts. Via two-wire technology, heating systems, air conditioning systems, ventilation systems, fire alarm systems, UPS systems, emergency power systems, emergency generators, reed contacts, etc., signal important status and maintenance messages. Connect up to four of these signal contacts to the potential-free contacts of the IP monitoring device.

In the WebGUI, you can individually configure each of the 4 inputs. Set the normal state of the fault contact (NO = normally open / NC = normally closed) and define the required notifications and alarm messages. This way, the HVAC technician can be immediately informed via SMS about the critical condition in case of air conditioning failure (modem required). At the same time, the IT department can be alerted via email or SNMP traps to network monitoring.

Optionally, you can also connect the Dry Contact expansion unit with 32 inputs to the CAN bus port of the Monitoring System 100 and thus monitor a large number of fault signal collective contacts via Ethernet LAN around the clock. All events are stored in the syslog of the IT monitoring system. The syslog can be sent to headquarters at intervals via FTP upload and evaluated from there.

2 Relay Outputs for Door Closing Systems or Alarm Siren

The Rack Monitoring System 100T is equipped with two 12V outputs. Connect, for example, the alarm siren with integrated flashing light here and thus alert on-site personnel in critical situations such as heat, water ingress or power failure. An alarm can also be signaled to the building management system or alarm system. Door closing systems or electronic locks can also be opened by the Monitoring System 100T.

In the integrated logic of the Didactum IP monitoring system, you can easily define the required actions / escalation plans. As you can see, the application possibilities of this networked control system are very extensive.

Optional Video Surveillance of Server and Technical Rooms

A USB surveillance camera can optionally be connected to the All-in-One monitoring system 100T. Increase the security of your technical or server room by introducing cost-effective video security surveillance. The images of the event (e.g. opening the server room door) are sent via email or modem (optional) to security personnel or IT managers on request. Additionally, images from up to 4 different IP cameras can be displayed in the web interface at a resolution of up to max. 640x480 pixels.

Notifications and Alarms via Email, SMS or SNMP Trap

This infrastructure monitoring system works independently and can comprehensively notify and alarm in case of critical events or status changes. You can also group individual sensors together and define logical links for the actions to be executed. Get immediately informed of faults via email, SMS (via modem) or via SNMP traps to your building or network monitoring software. The optionally available alarm siren with built-in flashing light supports audio-visual alarming of on-site personnel. At the same time, an alarm can also be sent to the home or building technology via relay switching. All events are stored in the syslog database including date and time stamps. The syslog can be sent to company headquarters at intervals via FTP upload.

Didactum Temperature Sensor - Temperature Monitoring of Sensitive Infrastructures

Measure and monitor the important environmental factor temperature in your sensitive infrastructures. Ensure that a temperature rise or even overheating in your important rooms and systems does not go unnoticed.

Permanent temperature recording is useful for compliance purposes. Also suitable as proof for room monitoring in the context of audits.

Typical Applications for Didactum Temperature Sensor:

  • Temperature monitoring of technical and server room infrastructures
  • Long-term measurement of room temperature in warehouses, depots and archives
  • Temperature monitoring of network, technical and server cabinets
  • Temperature monitoring of cold storage and industrial buildings

This sensor was specifically developed for precise temperature monitoring. The temperature sensor is simply connected to the Didactum Monitoring System via RJ11 cable and automatically displayed in the web frontend. For temperature monitoring, you can query the connected sensor via network or internet.

The sensor can be placed up to 100 meters away from the Didactum Monitoring and Alarm Systems via RJ-11 cable.

Didactum Humidity Sensor - Monitoring of Relative Humidity

The environmental factor relative humidity (RH) plays a not to be underestimated role in many business-critical rooms and systems. Too low humidity of room air can promote static charging.

In server rooms and data centers, sensitive components can be affected if humidity is too low. Too high humidity of room air can cause the formation of condensate / condensation water.

These often microscopically small water particles can settle on circuit boards and in the worst case cause a short circuit. Therefore, it makes sense to permanently measure the relative humidity in sensitive rooms and systems and to be informed in time of critical humidity. Installing humidity sensors also enables control of the installed ventilation and air conditioning technology. Ensure that your HVAC technology works perfectly.

Typical Application Examples of Didactum Humidity Sensor:

  • Measurement of humidity in technical and server room infrastructures
  • Measurement of humidity in production environments
  • Long-term measurement of relative humidity in warehouses, depots and archives
  • Monitoring of air conditioning and ventilation systems
  • Automation technology for home and building technology
  • Prevention of mold formation (black mold, etc.)

Convenient Installation of Didactum Humidity Sensor

Installation of the relative humidity sensor from Didactum is simple. You simply need to connect the humidity sensor to the IP-based Didactum Monitoring and Alarm System via 4-wire patch cable. If desired, you can place the sensor up to 50 meters away from the monitoring system. Through the autosense function, this sensor is automatically recognized and displayed in the easy-to-use web interface.

The humidity sensor is delivered including mounting material (screws / mounting tape).

Didactum Leak Sensor - Reliable Detection of Water and Condensate

For the detection of water and moisture, Didactum has developed the leak sensor. This sensor is compatible with all Didactum Monitoring and Alarm Systems. The leak sensor is connected via RJ-12 patch cable to one of the sensor connections of the Didactum Monitoring System. With support of auto-identification, the sensor is immediately recognized and displayed in the web interface of the Didactum Monitoring System. Here you can set the desired alarm type (email alarm, SMS alarm, alarm via SNMP to building or system monitoring software).

Quick and Uncomplicated Installation of Leak Sensor

The leak sensor is delivered including screws and mounting tape. A 2-meter long RJ-12 patch cable is included in the delivery. If desired, you can place this sensor up to 100 meters away from the Didactum Monitoring and Alarm System.

Didactum Smoke Sensor - Early Detection of Fire and Smoke

The Didactum smoke sensor was specifically developed for early detection of fire / smoke and is compatible with all Didactum Monitoring Systems. This sensor is connected to one of the free sensor ports of the IP-based Didactum Monitoring and Alarm System via RJ-12 patch cable and automatically displayed in the web GUI.

If desired, up to 15 of these smoke detectors can be connected in series. Equip other important rooms and systems with smoke detection sensors in this way. For this, simply use RJ-12 patch cables. The total length of the smoke detector chain can be up to approximately 150 meters. Please note that with chained smoke detectors you only receive a general alarm message.

In the easy-to-use web interface of the Didactum Monitoring Systems, you can define the desired alarm types in case of (smoldering) fire and fire outbreak. Ensure that smoke and fire in your business-critical rooms is reported in time.
