As part of the innovative sensorProbeX+ product family, the SPX8 is fully compatible with AKCP’s smartRack sensors. This includes the advanced Thermal Map Sensor and RFID Swing Handle Lock for enhanced security monitoring.

Extended Licenses and Features

The Virtual Private Network (VPN) license enables secure connections, while the Virtual Sensor Pack (VS) adds virtual sensors in packs of 5, up to a maximum of 80. The 3rd Party PMS & Modbus (PM) license allows integration of third-party devices.
Advanced user management is supported through the 500 Access Control User Database (UA). IPv6 Support (SP-IPV6) enables compatibility with modern network protocols, while RADIUS Authentication (RAD) ensures centralized user authentication.
Expansion and Scalability
The system offers two primary expansion options. The Basic Expansion Bus (BEB) supports up to 2 BEB units per SPX8, with a total BEB chain length of up to 18 meters. This solution is ideal for cost-effective expansion within the same rack.
The RS485 Expansion (EXP) supports distances of up to 300 meters between units and is compatible with E-Sensor8 and E-Opto16 expansion units. This allows flexible placement of extension units across larger areas.

The physical dimensions of the SPX8 are 427mm width and 44mm height in a slim low-profile design. Mounting options include 0U tool-free rack mount, wall brackets, horizontal 1U rack mount, or DIN rail mounting.
Performance features include support for up to 150 online sensors, including expansion units and virtual sensors. The system supports 500 users for access control, with 100 users enabled by default. It also allows integration of up to 4 Modbus devices with 15 sensors per device.
Operational reliability is ensured through an integrated buzzer for audible alarms, LED indicators for power, network, and sensor status, and a 96-hour burn-in test to eliminate early failures.
