The COMET T3417 is a specialized transmitter with an extra-long 700 mm stainless steel probe for measurements deep inside rooms, tall halls, shafts, silos, grain storage areas, drying chambers, or anywhere a standard probe simply cannot reach far enough. The durable stainless-steel probe positions the sensor exactly where needed – even at temperatures up to +125 °C and 100 % relative humidity.

With its full measurement range of –30 to +125 °C and 0–100 %RH, the T3417 is perfect for grain and flour silos (humidity measurement in the center of the pile), tall production halls (vertical temperature and humidity profiling), drying systems, chimneys, ventilation shafts, compost heaps, or large storage facilities.

All derived humidity parameters such as dew point, absolute humidity, specific humidity, mixing ratio, and specific enthalpy are calculated internally and instantly available via the galvanically isolated RS485 interface with Modbus RTU (factory default). The large dual-line display is switchable – ideal for 24/7 operation.

The electronics housing is IP65 protected, while the sensor probe is rated IP40 – the T3417 easily withstands harsh, dusty, and humid environments.

Installation – easy and secure

Insert the probe from the top or side, mount the housing with two screws on a wall or frame, connect the cable – done. The long probe can also be fixed in place using brackets or a flange.
