The Comet TA7640 is the most comprehensive compact sensor of the Web Sensor series. It combines in one device the measurement of temperature, relative humidity, barometric pressure and CO₂ concentration, providing a complete overview of indoor air quality (IAQ). Thanks to the new NDIR module with high accuracy in the normal range, the device is particularly powerful.

The Comet TA7640 is the ideal solution for monitoring indoor air quality in offices, schools and conference rooms as well as in applications focused on comfort and health. The three-color LED signaling enables use as an air quality traffic light for simple ventilation control. The device also calculates variables such as Humidex to assess thermal comfort.

The Comet TA7640 offers a backlit LCD display, acoustic and LED alarm, and power supply with 5 to 24 volts or PoE. It features an integrated backup memory and a modern web interface with IPv4 and IPv6 support, Modbus TCP, COMET Cloud, and fully encrypted communication via HTTPS, SNMPv3 and TLS. An integrated removable holder makes installation easy. Features include encrypted communication, PoE power supply, time synchronization with battery backup, and options to send alarms via e‑mail or acoustic signaling.

The Comet TA7640 belongs to the TAx6xx series, the new generation of Web Sensor 2.0 premium sensors. It combines precise measurement, modern network communication and local monitoring via LCD display, LED signaling and acoustic alarm. The device is perfect for server rooms and data centers, laboratories and healthcare facilities, industrial plants, offices, schools, public buildings and clean rooms. Local monitoring without PC is performed via the backlit segmented LCD display with four brightness levels, displaying values, alarms and IP address, three-color LED signaling (green, yellow, red) and acoustic alarm with local and remote mute options.

The Comet TA7640 enables advanced next-generation alarms with two adjustable alarms per channel without directional limitation, system alarms for measurement error, time or configuration error, and signaling via LED, acoustic sound, e‑mail with TLS/STARTTLS or Syslog. It calculates derived values such as dew point, absolute humidity, specific humidity, mixing ratio, enthalpy, Humidex and Heat Index, as well as inter-channel calculations like temperature difference or CO₂ difference. Maximum connectivity and security include HTTP/HTTPS with custom certificate upload, SNMP v1/v2c/v3 with SHA/AES128, Modbus TCP including alarm muting and limit change, IPv4 plus IPv6, COMET Cloud/COMET Database, TLS communication, four user accounts with three authorization levels, and firmware updates through web. The power supply is uncompromising with 5 to 24 V DC or PoE IEEE 802.3af, RTC with battery backup, and backup memory of more than 2600 records. The new platform brings a compact design, removable holder for easy installation, unified firmware, enhanced cybersecurity, RTC with battery, and advanced alarm system.
