AKCP Thermal Map Sensor – Professional Temperature Monitoring for Data Centers
The ongoing digitalization and the continuously growing demand for data center capacities make reliable temperature monitoring a critical success factor. The AKCP Thermal Map Sensor offers a highly advanced solution for the precise monitoring of temperature differentials in server cabinets, making it an indispensable tool for modern data center monitoring.
Intelligent Temperature Monitoring for Maximum Operational Safety
The thermal sensor from AKCP was specifically developed for the requirements of professional server room monitoring. With its innovative configuration of strategically positioned temperature sensors, the system continuously captures the critical measurement points of a server cabinet. The sensors are installed at the neuralgic positions – top, in the middle and at the bottom as well as at the front and rear in the cabinet – to ensure comprehensive thermal monitoring.
This precise arrangement enables monitoring of both the intake and exhaust air temperatures, while identifying critical temperature differentials between the front and rear of the cabinet. Such temperature differences are crucial indicators of cooling efficiency and can provide early warning of potential problems before costly failures occur.
Two Powerful Variants for Different Requirements
THMS-V2: Compact Solution for Basic Monitoring
The THMS-V2 represents the basic variant of the Thermal Map Sensors and is equipped with four high-precision temperature sensors. This compact solution is ideally suited for smaller installations or as an entry into professional temperature monitoring. The sensors are operated with a single cable string and can monitor either the front or the rear side of the server cabinet.
With its four measurement points, the THMS-V2 captures the temperatures at the critical positions – top, in the middle and at the bottom – and delivers precise measurements with a resolution of 0.1°C. The measurement accuracy of ±0.5°C in the range from -10°C to +75°C ensures reliable data acquisition for most server room applications.
Set:
- Temperature and Humidity Map Sensor String of 3x Temperature and 1x Humidity sensor Pre wired for easy installation
CTHMS-V2: Extended Solution for Comprehensive Monitoring
For more demanding data center monitoring requirements, the CTHMS-V2 offers an extended configuration with a total of eleven sensors. This premium variant enables the simultaneous monitoring of both the front and rear sides of the server cabinet via two separate cable strings.
The decisive advantage of the CTHMS-V2 lies in the automatic calculation of the delta-T values – the temperature differences between the front and rear. These measurements are of crucial importance for the evaluation of cooling efficiency and the identification of hot spots or insufficiently cooled areas in the server cabinet.
Set:
- Cabinet Temperature and Humidity Map 2x strings of 3x Temperature and 1x Humidity sensors for front and rear of the cabinet. 1x Sensor Splitter adapter box to connect both strings to 1 sensor port
Technical Excellence and Extended Functionalities
Both variants of the Thermal Map Sensor are characterized by their exceptional technical precision. The extended measurement range from -40°C to +75°C covers even extreme environmental conditions, while the high resolution of 0.1°C also captures the smallest temperature fluctuations.
In addition to temperature measurement, the sensors feature integrated humidity monitoring with a measurement range from 0 to 100% relative humidity. This dual functionality is particularly valuable, as humidity and temperature are closely linked and both parameters are crucial for the optimal operating environment of servers.
Seamless Integration into Existing Infrastructures
A key advantage of the AKCP Thermal Map Sensors is their universal compatibility with all sensorProbe+ base units. The plug-and-play installation is achieved via standardized RJ-45 connectors and CAT5e/6 cables, enabling the sensors to be seamlessly integrated into existing monitoring infrastructures.
The maximum cable length of 18 meters allows multiple server cabinets to be monitored from a central IP point, reducing both installation and operating costs. Up to 16 Thermal Maps can be connected per sensorProbe+ unit, enabling a scalable solution for larger data centers.
Advanced Visualization and Alarm Management
The collected data is attractively visualized in the AKCPro Server software. The software not only provides classic data views, but also innovative 3D heatmaps, which enable the intuitive identification of temperature hot spots. Animated arrows visualize the temperature differences between the front and rear of the cabinet, making problem areas recognizable at a glance.
The integrated alarm management ensures proactive monitoring through automatic notifications of critical temperature deviations. This early warning enables IT administrators to take timely countermeasures before expensive server failures occur.
Robust Construction for Long-Lasting Reliability
The Thermal Map Sensors are designed for continuous use in demanding environments. With an operating temperature of -35°C to +80°C and a humidity range of 20% to 80% (non-condensing), they are also suitable for extreme operating conditions.
The compact dimensions of 75 x 55 x 27 mm and the included VHB adhesive tape enable flexible mounting at various positions in the server cabinet. An optional magnetic mounting system is also available, which allows for easy repositioning of the sensors.
Investment in the Future of Data Center Monitoring
The AKCP Thermal Map Sensors represent a future-proof investment in the infrastructure monitoring of modern data centers. Through precise temperature measurement, intelligent delta-T calculation, and seamless integration into existing monitoring systems, they provide a comprehensive solution for the challenges of today's server room monitoring.
The combination of technical excellence, user-friendly installation, and advanced visualization options makes the Thermal Map Sensors an indispensable tool for every professional IT administrator who places value on maximum operational safety and efficiency.
