5VDC Sensor Converter ENVIROMUX-S5VDC

NTI ENVIROMUX-S5VDC – Your 0–5 VDC Sensor Converter for up to Two Channels

Many industrial sensors – from humidity and position to light intensity – provide linear voltage signals between 0 and 5 VDC.

The ENVIROMUX-S5VDC from NTI brings these signals directly into your ENVIROMUX monitoring system: a compact external RJ45 device that monitors up to two linear DC sensors (0–5 VDC), supplies each with 12 VDC and 25 mA, and transmits the values in real time to the ENVIROMUX-2D/5D/16D.

Whether in automation, building control, or laboratory environments, the converter turns analog voltage signals into digital alarms, trends, and logs. Imagine this: at a test bench in Frankfurt, a 0–5 VDC position sensor measures the stroke height of a press.

At 4.8 V (threshold), the ENVIROMUX-5D sends an alarm – the process stops before material is damaged. Reaction time: under one minute. Without the S5VDC, the measurement would be isolated and safety manual. With it, everything is centralized, automated, and documented.

The technical strength lies in its range and flexibility: the converter connects to the ENVIROMUX via CAT5/5e/6 cable up to 305 meters – ideal for distributed installations. The 8-pole screw terminal ensures stable, vibration-resistant sensor connections.

Each channel provides a stable 12 VDC / 25 mA – sufficient for most 0–5 VDC transmitters. Power comes directly from the ENVIROMUX base unit – no external power supply or battery required. With the ENVIROMUX-FSC Fiber Converter, you can extend the distance up to 2 kilometers – perfect for campuses or large production halls.

A real-world example: an automotive supplier in Düsseldorf uses two 0–5 VDC humidity sensors to monitor a paint booth. The S5VDC is installed overhead, connected via CAT6 cable to the ENVIROMUX-16D. At 3.2 V (too humid), the system activates dehumidification – the paint quality remains consistent, and scrap is reduced by 18%. The converter not only saves costs but secures production quality.

Installation is easy and durable: with the included mounting hardware, the converter can be fixed to a wall, DIN rail, or housing. The extremely high MTBF of 1,956,288 hours confirms its reliability. CE and RoHS compliance guarantee European standards.

Another example: in a Cologne laboratory, a 0–5 VDC light sensor measures UV intensity in a cleanroom. At 4.5 V (too high), the ENVIROMUX-2D automatically dims the lamps – sensitive samples remain protected. The ENVIROMUX-S5VDC is the universal bridge between 0–5 VDC analog sensing and ENVIROMUX digital intelligence – flexible, reliable, and future-proof.

Application Areas with Real-World Use Cases

The ENVIROMUX-S5VDC integrates 0–5 VDC sensors seamlessly into the ENVIROMUX system:

  • Automation: position monitoring in a press. Munich test bench: 4.8 V → stop → material preserved.
  • Painting technology: humidity in a booth. Stuttgart supplier: 3.2 V → dehumidification → quality +18%.
  • Laboratory & cleanroom: UV intensity. Berlin institute: 4.5 V → dimming → samples protected.
  • Building management: office brightness. Hamburg smart building: 2.1 V → blinds down → energy saved.
  • Agriculture: soil moisture. Cologne greenhouse: 1.8 V → irrigation → optimized yield.
  • Medical technology: oxygen in incubator. Düsseldorf clinic: 3.9 V → alarm → patient safety ensured.

The NTI ENVIROMUX-S5VDC is your gateway to digital 0–5 VDC monitoring – it integrates linear voltage sensors into the ENVIROMUX network, powers them, and ensures secure signal transmission. No extra devices, no complex interfaces required.
