This Didactum bundle combines the Monitoring System 100T with an analog temperature sensor, an analog humidity sensor, and a matching 19" rackmount kit to form a complete, ready-to-use climate monitoring solution for server rooms, IT racks, and technical rooms. Instead of putting together a central unit, sensors, and mounting accessories separately, this bundle gives you all the components for a clean, rack-mounted installation from a single source.

The Monitoring System 100T serves as the central control and alerting unit: it is connected to the network via Ethernet, is fully configurable through a web browser, and requires no additional software. The temperature and humidity sensors are connected directly to the analog ports of the 100T and are detected automatically, while the rackmount kit securely and space-efficiently fixes the central unit at 1 rack unit in a 19" server rack.

As your needs grow, so does this bundle: two of the four analog ports as well as the entire CAN bus port of the 100T remain free, so additional sensors or expansion units can be added at any time – with no need to replace the central unit.

Monitoring System 100T

The Monitoring System 100T is the central control unit of the bundle and the latest generation of Didactum's high-end monitoring systems, developed and manufactured in the European Union. It operates completely independently via an integrated web server, requires no additional software installation, and thanks to its hardened Linux operating system and built-in watchdog, is designed for continuous 24/7 operation in critical environments such as server rooms, production facilities, or data centers. Up to 36 sensors can be connected and automatically detected via four analog ports and a CAN bus port, while integration into SNMP-, Modbus TCP/IP-, or Syslog-based monitoring landscapes such as Zabbix, PRTG, or Nagios is achieved without any additional effort. With 10/100/1000 Mbit/s Ethernet, an optional LTE modem, and an optional OSDPv2 or Modbus/RTU expansion module, the 100T can also be tailored precisely to the relevant infrastructure.

Temperature sensor

The temperature sensor included in the bundle is used for precise monitoring and measurement of the indoor temperature in the monitored room or rack and is connected directly to an analog port of the Monitoring System 100T via an RJ11 connector. The device automatically detects the sensor, displays it in the web interface, and allows individual configuration of threshold values and notifications there. The sensor is wired, with a 2-meter cable included in the scope of delivery, and can be placed up to 100 meters away from the central unit if needed, making it suitable for temperature monitoring in extensive racks or adjacent rooms as well. Thanks to its compatibility with all network-based Didactum monitoring systems, it integrates seamlessly into the bundle and delivers reliable temperature data from the very start.

Humidity sensor

The humidity sensor in the bundle complements the temperature sensor by measuring relative humidity and is likewise connected directly to the Monitoring System 100T via an analog port. With compact dimensions of only 60 × 18 × 18 mm and a power consumption of just 60 mW, it is space-saving and energy-efficient, allowing it to be installed unobtrusively in racks, on walls, or on tabletops. Continuous humidity monitoring helps detect condensation risks early and ensures optimal conditions for sensitive IT equipment. Via the connection cable, which can optionally be extended up to 50 meters, the sensor can be flexibly placed wherever humidity actually needs to be monitored.

Rackmount kit for device and sensor expansion

The rackmount kit included in the bundle is a 19" mounting bracket that allows the Monitoring System 100T to be installed cleanly and space-efficiently at just 1 rack unit (1U) in a standard server rack. This means the central unit does not need to sit loose in the rack or be mounted separately on a wall, but is instead integrated securely and neatly alongside the other rack components. The kit also provides room for an analog sensor expansion unit, allowing the bundle to be expanded in the same rack space as sensor needs grow. This keeps all the monitoring equipment bundled together in one place and easily accessible at all times.

Comprehensive sensor integration for the bundle

The Monitoring System 100T supports up to 100 sensors, contacts, and relays simultaneously – with up to 36 sensors supported directly out of the box via the analog ports and the CAN bus. The temperature and humidity sensors included in the bundle occupy two of the four analog ports and deliver precise climate data (±0.25 °C and ±3% RH respectively) from the monitored room right from the start – two analog ports as well as the entire CAN bus remain free for later expansion.

Thanks to the available analog and CAN bus capacity, the bundle can be expanded at any time with additional Didactum sensors or expansion units – ideal for growing from a climate starter solution into a comprehensive monitoring network as demand increases.

Real-time monitoring and automated alerting

The Monitoring System 100T reacts immediately to critical values from the included temperature and humidity sensor as well as all other connected sensors. When threshold values are exceeded, the system automatically sends email notifications, SNMP traps, or activates a siren. With an optionally installed LTE modem, SMS and web-to-SMS notifications are also possible. Integration with monitoring software such as Zabbix, PRTG, Nagios, or Check_MK is straightforward thanks to common network protocols (HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, FTP, SNMP, Syslog, Modbus TCP/IP, DHCP).

Practical example: The temperature sensor in the rack reports that 30 °C has been exceeded. The system automatically sends an email to the IT staff, permanently logs the event, and can optionally activate the air conditioning via a relay output – preventing overheating damage at an early stage.

The multilingual web interface allows easy management of sensors, alarms, and scenarios – right from the moment the bundle is put into operation.

Scalable, reliable, and future-proof

The Monitoring System 100T included in the bundle is equipped with 10/100/1000 Mbit/s (Gigabit) Ethernet. The system supports up to 700 elements (sensors, triggers, logic schemes, notifications). Since the temperature and humidity sensors occupy only two of the four analog ports, two further ports as well as the entire CAN bus port remain available for additional sensors and expansion units. Regular firmware updates ensure long-term usability. Made in the EU – with German support included.

Connecting CAN sensors

In addition to the four analog ports, the Monitoring System 100T has a CAN bus port that remains completely free in the bundle. Additional CAN devices can be linked together in a chain via this port – up to 24 CAN devices per chain are recommended, with a maximum of 32 devices per port. Each 8-port sensor expansion adds 8 additional analog sensors to the system, and each dry contact expansion unit adds 32 or 64 additional dry contact inputs. The total length of the CAN bus can be up to 230 m; an additional CAN power supply (12V/1A) is only needed if the number of CAN devices in the chain exceeds the recommended limit.

Building monitoring & physical security

The remaining ports and the free CAN bus allow the bundle to be expanded with security sensors at any time.

What is included in this bundle?

The bundle includes the Monitoring System 100T as the central monitoring and alerting unit, an analog temperature sensor, an analog humidity sensor, and a 19" rackmount kit for mounting the central unit in the server rack. All components are matched to each other and ready to use immediately after unpacking.

Do I need to configure the sensors separately?

No. Both sensors are connected to the analog ports of the Monitoring System via RJ11 cables and are detected automatically there. Temperature and humidity then appear as separate measuring points in the web interface, for which you can set individual threshold values.

What is the rackmount kit needed for?

The rackmount kit is a 19" mounting bracket that allows the Monitoring System 100T to be mounted securely and space-efficiently at 1 rack unit (1U) in a server rack, instead of sitting loose or being mounted separately on a wall. The bracket also provides room for an analog sensor expansion unit added later on.

What options are available, and do I need to select them separately?

Two option groups are available for the Monitoring System 100T included in the bundle: an expansion module (OSDPv2 reader or Modbus/RTU) and an optional LTE modem. These options are not automatically included in the base price and must be selected directly on the product page above the "Add to cart" button. Without an active selection, we will ship the device in its standard configuration with no expansion module and no modem.

Can I expand the bundle with additional sensors?

Yes. After connecting the temperature and humidity sensors, two free analog ports as well as the entire CAN bus port of the 100T remain available. Via the CAN bus, up to 32 additional CAN devices can be connected (24 recommended), such as additional smoke, water, or motion sensors.

How accurate are the included sensors?

The temperature sensor measures with an accuracy of ±0.25 °C at room temperature, and the humidity sensor with ±3% relative humidity. Both values are displayed continuously in the web interface, where they can be logged, visualized, and exported.

How are alarms and notifications sent?

The system offers various alerting methods: email notifications, SNMP traps, and Syslog messages. With an optionally installed LTE modem, SMS and web-to-SMS are also available. In addition, external sirens or strobe lights can be connected via the relay outputs.

Can the bundle be integrated into existing IT infrastructures?

Yes, the Monitoring System 100T is specifically designed for integration into professional IT environments. It supports SNMP v1/v2c/v3, Modbus TCP/IP natively, and Modbus RTU via an optional expansion, can be integrated into common monitoring platforms such as Nagios, PRTG, Zabbix, or Check_MK, and has a web API for custom integrations.
