The integrated thermal sensor protects the system itself from overheating beyond 70 °C by automatic shutdown.

Thanks to the GSM modem SMS alarm, you receive critical alerts on your mobile phone even if the entire network, internet, and power supply have failed – because the GSM module continues to operate with an external 12 V backup battery (optional).

Automatic Sensor Detection & German Web Interface – Incredibly Easy

Each sensor is automatically detected in under 3 seconds. Name sensors freely: “Temp Rack 3 Top,” “Humidity Air Conditioning 2nd Floor,” “Water Raised Floor Zone 4.” Define up to five threshold levels: Lower Critical, Lower Warning, Normal, Upper Warning, Upper Critical. Example temperature: 18 °C (Critical Low), 20 °C (Warning Low), 22–26 °C (Normal), 30 °C (Warning High), 35 °C (Critical High).

Thanks to the integrated “IF-THEN-ELSE” logic, the Didactum 500T automatically switches on the fans connected to relay 1 at 32 °C, activates relay 2 (emergency ventilation) at 38 °C, and simultaneously sends SMS messages to five administrators, SNMP trap to Nagios, and email to the building management system.

Integrated Data Logger with 10 Years Storage & Real-Time Graphs

All measurement values are stored down to the second in a ring buffer. Factory default: 60,000 data records = approx. 3 months at 60-second intervals. Expandable via USB stick for over 10 years. Zoomable graphs directly in the browser, mouse-over shows exact value + timestamp. Export as CSV, XML, JSON, or PDF with company logo. Temperature Monitoring – More Accurate than Most Data Center Air Conditioners

The included temperature sensor measures -40 to +100 °C with ±0.3 °C accuracy in the range of 0–70 °C. Perfect for Cold Corridor 18–27 °C monitoring according to ASHRAE TC 9.9. Can be installed up to 100 m away using a standard telephone cable.

Humidity Sensor

The calibrated humidity sensor warns below 30% RH (ESD risk for SSDs) and above 60% RH (condensation risk). Measuring range 0–100 % RH, ±2 % accuracy between 10–90 %. Ideal for data centers, museums, archives, and battery rooms.

Water Sensor – Detects Even Two Drops of Tap Water

The water sensor with gold-plated contacts detects even the smallest amounts of water, condensate, or distilled water. Perfect for installation under raised floors, in front of air conditioners, in suspended ceilings, or near UPS batteries.

Smoke Sensor – Early Fire Detection

The photo-optical smoke sensor detects smoldering fires up to 30 minutes before open flames. Up to 15 detectors can be connected in series – perfect for large server rooms, transformer stations, or archive storage areas. Alarm also in case of dust development or cable overheating.

GSM Modem SMS Alarm

The built-in quad-band GSM modem sends SMS alerts within 8 seconds. Up to 10 phone numbers, individual text macros (“Server Room 3: Temperature 38 °C Critical!”). Remote control via SMS: “RELAY1 ON” activates the fan – confirmation is sent back immediately.

Free Nagios GSM Plugin – External Systems Can Send SMS

Even if your Nagios server has no internet connection, the Didactum 500T GSM modem can be accessed by any system via SNMP-write. The free plugin sends SMS messages directly from Nagios.
