This Didactum bundle combines the Monitoring System 500T with the four most important environmental sensors — temperature, humidity, water, and smoke — as well as an LTE modem with an additional antenna to provide instantly deployable IT basic protection. This makes it possible to monitor server rooms and technical areas around the clock and deliver alarms by SMS even if the network fails.
As a highly advanced 19"-1U control unit, the Monitoring System 500T serves as the central monitoring point of the bundle: it is connected to the network via Gigabit Ethernet, is fully configurable through the web browser, and requires no additional software. The temperature, humidity, water, and smoke sensors are connected directly to the analog ports and detected automatically. The LTE modem installed in the expansion slot of the 500T ensures that alarm messages are reliably transmitted via mobile network even if the local network connection fails.
As your needs grow, this bundle grows with them: additional sensors and CAN devices can be added at any time via the remaining analog ports and the CAN bus of the 500T — without replacing the central unit.

Monitoring System 500T
The Monitoring System 500T is the central control unit of the bundle and a highly advanced, field-tested 19"-1U monitoring solution for data centers, server rooms, and other business-critical environments. As a self-sufficient device without moving parts such as fans or hard drives, it continuously records all connected sensors and generates real-time alerts long before a costly outage can occur. With 8 analog ports, a CAN bus port, 16 potential-free inputs, and 4 relay outputs, the 500T can also be used as an I/O controller for doors, fans, generators, or UPS systems. The system is equipped with Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000 Mbit/s) and can be seamlessly integrated into monitoring environments such as Zabbix, PRTG, or Nagios thanks to SNMP, Modbus TCP/IP, and Syslog.
Temperature sensor
The Didactum temperature sensor is used for precise temperature monitoring and measurement in server rooms and technical environments. The sensor is connected via an RJ11 plug to an analog port of the 500T and detected automatically. It can then be freely named in the web interface and assigned custom thresholds (Lower Critical, Lower Warning, Normal, Upper Warning, Upper Critical), so that an alarm is triggered automatically when the temperature becomes critical.
Humidity sensor
The Didactum humidity sensor measures relative humidity in the server room and provides early warning of air that is too dry (ESD risk for hardware) or too humid (risk of condensation). Like the temperature sensor, it is connected via an RJ11/RJ12 cable to an analog port of the 500T, automatically detected, and configured in the web interface with individual thresholds.
Water sensor
The Didactum water sensor detects leaks by measuring an increase in capacitance between two metal poles — corrosion-resistant and ideal for long-term use under raised floors, near air conditioning systems, or close to UPS batteries. The sensor is connected via an analog port of the 500T and typically reports water ingress within about 15 seconds.
Smoke sensor
The Didactum smoke sensor is a photoelectric smoke detector for early fire detection in server rooms and technical areas. It is connected to an analog port of the 500T, mounted on the ceiling (max. 6 m installation height), and can be daisy-chained with up to 10 additional smoke sensors if required to cover larger rooms.
LTE modem with additional antenna
The LTE modem is already factory-installed in the designated expansion slot of the Monitoring System 500T and ensures maximum fail-safe reliability for IT basic protection. If the local network connection fails, the modem automatically switches to LTE (4G) and maintains system communication, so alarms from the temperature, humidity, water, and smoke sensors are still reliably transmitted even when the LAN is unavailable. In addition, the module supports sending and receiving SMS notifications to up to ten different phone numbers, which significantly increases the response speed for critical messages.
Please note: The LTE modem is already factory-installed in the device and is delivered without a SIM card. For mobile network connectivity and SMS transmission, you need your own SIM card, purchased separately from a mobile network provider.
Comprehensive sensor integration for the bundle
The Monitoring System 500T supports up to 130 sensors, contacts, and relays simultaneously — 8 analog RJ12 sensor ports are available directly on the device, and the CAN bus can extend this number significantly. Four of the eight analog ports are already occupied in the bundle by temperature, humidity, water, and smoke sensors; the remaining four ports stay free for additional sensors.

Real-time monitoring and automated alerting
The Monitoring System 500T responds immediately to every state change of the connected sensors. If a threshold is exceeded, the system automatically sends email notifications, SMS, web-to-SMS, PUSH messages, or SNMP traps, or activates a siren. If the local network connection fails, the factory-installed LTE modem automatically takes over communication and ensures that alarms and SMS notifications continue to be delivered reliably. Integration into monitoring software such as Zabbix, PRTG, or Nagios is easily possible thanks to common network protocols (HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, FTP, SNMP, Syslog, DHCP, Modbus TCP/IP).
Practical example: The temperature sensor in the server cabinet reports a rise above the warning threshold. The system immediately sends an email and an SNMP trap to the responsible technicians. If the network connection fails at the same time, the LTE modem automatically takes over and ensures notification by SMS to the stored numbers — so the fault will definitely not go unnoticed.

The Monitoring System 500T in the bundle is equipped with 10/100/1000 Mbit/s Ethernet (Gigabit). The system supports up to 1000 elements (sensors, contacts, triggers, timers, logic schemes, notifications). Four of the 8 analog ports of the central unit are already occupied by sensors in the bundle; the remaining 4 ports and the CAN bus port remain fully available for additional sensors. Connect CAN devices
The Monitoring System 500T has a CAN bus port to which up to 32 additional CAN devices can be connected — for example additional sensor expansion units (8 analog ports per unit) or dry-contact expansions for potential-free contacts. The total length of the CAN bus line can be up to 225 m, allowing larger infrastructures to be monitored centrally. An additional CAN power supply (12V/1A) is only required if the number of CAN devices in the chain exceeds 12 units.

What is included in this bundle?

Do I need a SIM card for the LTE modem?
Yes. The LTE modem is already factory-installed in the Monitoring System 500T, but it is delivered without a SIM card. For mobile network connectivity and SMS notifications, you need your own SIM card purchased separately from a mobile network provider.
How are the sensors connected?
The temperature, humidity, water, and smoke sensors are each connected via RJ11/RJ12 cable to one of the eight analog ports of the Monitoring System 500T and are automatically detected there. What happens if the network connection fails?
