This Didactum Bundle combines the Monitoring System 100T with a temperature, humidity, smoke and water sensor plus an alarm siren with strobe light to form a complete climate monitoring solution. The special advantage: an LTE modem with auxiliary antenna is already factory-installed in the device, so alarms can also be sent via SMS – even if the local network connection should ever fail.

The Monitoring System 100T forms the central control and alerting unit: it is integrated into the network via Ethernet, is fully configurable through the web browser, and requires no additional software. Temperature, humidity, smoke and water sensors are connected directly to the analog ports, and the alarm siren to the relay output – all components are automatically detected or can be controlled immediately. The LTE modem, already pre-installed in the device, handles SMS alerting and simultaneously serves as a network backup in the event of a LAN outage.

The complete CAN bus port of the 100T remains free, so additional CAN sensors or expansion units can be added at any time – without replacing the central unit.

Monitoring System 100T

The Monitoring System 100T is the central control unit of the bundle and the latest generation of Didactum's high-end monitoring systems, developed and manufactured in the European Union. It operates fully independently via an integrated web server, requires no additional software installation, and is designed for permanent 24/7 operation in critical environments such as server rooms, technical rooms, or production facilities thanks to its hardened Linux operating system and built-in watchdog. Four analog ports, a CAN bus port, and relay outputs allow sensors to be detected automatically and alarm devices such as sirens to be controlled directly, while integration into SNMP-, Modbus TCP/IP-, or Syslog-based monitoring environments such as Zabbix, PRTG, or Nagios is achieved without extra effort. In this bundle, the device is additionally equipped from the factory with an LTE modem for mobile SMS alerting.

Temperature Sensor

The temperature sensor included in the bundle serves for precise monitoring and measurement of the indoor temperature and is connected directly to an analog port of the Monitoring System 100T via an RJ11 connector. The device automatically detects the sensor, displays it in the web interface, and allows individual configuration of threshold values and notifications there. The sensor is cable-bound, with a 2-meter cable included in delivery, and can be placed up to 100 meters from the central unit if required.

Humidity Sensor

The humidity sensor in the bundle complements the temperature sensor by measuring relative humidity and is likewise connected directly to the Monitoring System 100T via an analog port. With compact dimensions of only 60 × 18 × 18 mm and a power consumption of just 60 mW, it is space-saving and energy-efficient. Using the connection cable, which can optionally be extended up to 50 meters, the sensor can be flexibly placed wherever humidity actually needs to be monitored.

Didactum Smoke Sensor

The smoke sensor included in the bundle works on the photoelectric detection principle and detects smoke and fire development early, before major damage can occur. It is connected to an analog port of the Monitoring System 100T via one of its two RJ12 ports and can, if required, be daisy-chained with up to 10 additional sensors to cover larger areas. The sensor features a red status LED and is designed for ceiling mounting at installation heights of up to 6 meters. If smoke is detected, the system immediately triggers the alarm siren and additionally sends an SMS via the factory-installed LTE modem.

Water Sensor

The water sensor in the bundle detects leaks and flooding through a capacitive measurement between two stainless-steel poles and, thanks to its low operating voltage, remains permanently corrosion-resistant. It is connected to another analog port of the Monitoring System 100T via an RJ11/RJ12 connector and is suitable for placement near pipes, raised floors, air conditioning units, or water heaters. With a response time of around 15 seconds, the sensor reports incoming moisture to the central unit in near real time, which then triggers the siren, e-mail, and SMS.

Alarm Siren with Strobe Light

The alarm siren with strobe light provides immediate audible and visual alerting directly on-site as soon as one of the sensors reports a critical condition – such as smoke development, a detected leak, excessive temperature, or excessive humidity. It is connected via the included 3-meter connection cable directly to a 12V DC relay output of the Monitoring System 100T and is automatically activated during an alarm event. With a sound pressure of 108 dB and a red strobe light flashing at 2.5 Hz, it reliably draws attention even in larger or noisy environments. Thanks to IP54 protection rating and a robust ABS housing, it is also designed for permanent use in technical rooms.

LTE Modem with Auxiliary Antenna (Factory-Installed)

The LTE modem enables the reception and sending of SMS messages via 2G and 3G networks as well as Ethernet connectivity via LTE (4G), thereby ensuring that alarm events are reliably reported even if the local network connection fails. In the event of a LAN outage, the modem automatically switches to LTE, maintaining communication for the Monitoring System 100T. In addition to e-mail and SNMP notifications, alarm contacts and sensors can also be reported via SMS to up to ten different phone numbers, enabling a fast response independent of network status – particularly important for smoke or water alarms.

Comprehensive Sensor Integration for the Bundle

The Monitoring System 100T supports up to 100 sensors, contacts, and relays simultaneously – in the base configuration, directly up to 36 sensors via the analog ports and CAN bus. Temperature, humidity, smoke, and water sensors already occupy all four analog ports in the bundle, the alarm siren is controlled via a relay output, and the LTE modem is factory-installed as an internal module – the complete CAN bus port remains free for later expansions.

Since all four analog ports are occupied by the bundle, any further sensor expansion takes place exclusively via the fully free CAN bus port – for example with additional motion, door, or vibration sensors, or sensor expansion units. This allows the bundle to be expanded at any time from solid basic climate monitoring protection to a comprehensive monitoring network.

Real-Time Monitoring and Automated SMS Alerting

The Monitoring System 100T responds immediately to critical values from all sensors in the bundle. When threshold values are exceeded, the system automatically sends e-mail notifications and SNMP traps, activates the included alarm siren via the relay output if needed, and, thanks to the factory-installed LTE modem, additionally alerts up to ten stored phone numbers via SMS. If the local network connection fails, the modem automatically switches to LTE, so alerting continues to function. Integration into monitoring software such as Zabbix, PRTG, Nagios, or Check_MK is straightforward thanks to common network protocols (HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, FTP, SNMP, Syslog, Modbus TCP/IP, DHCP).

Scalable, Reliable, and Future-Proof

The Monitoring System 100T in the bundle is equipped with 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet (Gigabit). The system supports up to 700 elements (sensors, triggers, logic schemes, notifications). Since temperature, humidity, smoke, and water sensors already occupy all four analog ports, the siren is controlled via a relay output, and the LTE modem is installed as an internal module, the fully free CAN bus port is available for additional sensors. Regular firmware updates ensure long-term usability. Made in the EU – German support included.

Connecting CAN Sensors

Since all four analog ports are already occupied in the bundle, any further sensor expansion takes place via the CAN bus port, which remains fully free in the bundle. Additional CAN devices can be connected to each other in a chain via this port – up to 24 CAN devices per chain are recommended, with a maximum of 32 devices per port. Each 8-port sensor expansion adds 8 additional analog sensors to the system, while each dry-contact expansion unit adds 32 or 64 additional dry-contact inputs. The total length of the CAN bus can be up to 230 m; an additional CAN power supply (12V/1A) is only required if the number of CAN devices in the chain exceeds the recommended limit.

Smoke sensor, water sensor, and alarm siren already form a complete protection package in the bundle – complemented by SMS alerting via the factory-installed LTE modem.

Commissioning in Just a Few Minutes

Setting up the bundle is simple and quick – entirely without additional software.

1. Place the Monitoring System 100T at the desired location and connect it to your network via an Ethernet cable – the system starts automatically
2. Before the first startup, insert your own SIM card (not included) into the factory-installed LTE modem
3. Open the device's default IP address in your browser and complete the setup wizard
4. Connect the temperature, humidity, smoke, and water sensors each to an analog port – automatic detection
5. Connect the alarm siren to the relay output and link it to the desired alarm rules in the web interface
6. Store SMS phone numbers for the LTE modem in the web interface
7. Set threshold values and notification types for all sensors in the web interface
