IT Monitoring System 500T for Continuous Monitoring of Critical Rooms and Equipment

The new Monitoring System 500T provides customers with a proven solution for protecting business-critical rooms and infrastructure. This networked remote monitoring system is suitable for cross-industry use. It is ideal for continuous monitoring of IT infrastructure (server room / data center) as well as production, logistics, and technical environments. This networked all-in-one measurement and monitoring system is a so-called monitoring appliance. Its architecture is based on a smart combination of advanced hardware and software. A key advantage is that the 500T system operates as a stand-alone unit – perfect for monitoring heterogeneous IT environments.

Optionally, this monitoring system can be integrated into SNMP-compatible management software. Should the physical or virtual server with installed monitoring software fail, the advanced 500T Monitoring System will still reliably alert you and your team.

Typical applications of this monitoring system include:

  • Temperature and humidity monitoring in storage, logistics, and server room environments
  • Remote monitoring of unmanned technical rooms, power supply, and telecom systems
  • Rack monitoring of existing control, network, and server cabinets
  • Infrastructure monitoring of data center environments

Features of the Ethernet-based Monitoring System

The 500T IT Monitoring System features a powerful CPU, Linux-based OS, integrated web server, and multilingual web interface. It includes a real-time clock with NTP synchronization and watchdog timer. Supported protocols include CAN, DHCP, HTTP, HTTPS, SNMPv1/v2c/v3, SNMPget, SMTP, FTP, RADIUS, SYSLOG, TLS, STARTTLS. System alerts and status changes are sent instantly via email, FTP, Syslog, or SNMP.

8 Ports for Sensors to Monitor IT Infrastructure

The 500T Monitoring System features 8 RJ-11 ports for analog, IP-enabled sensors. Following a modular approach, you can select from a wide range of sensors to protect and monitor your critical areas and systems. Create a tailored solution for 24/7 environmental monitoring.

CAN Bus Port for CAN Sensors and Expansion Units

The 500T IT Monitoring System includes a CAN bus interface. CAN stands for Controller Area Network, a long-established industrial fieldbus protocol. If you need more sensors, simply connect a CAN sensor expansion unit. Up to 8 additional analog sensors can be plugged in via Plug & Play. You can also connect digital CAN sensors such as combined temperature-humidity or temperature-humidity-smoke sensors. Up to 8 CAN units or sensors can be linked to a single 500T monitoring device.

In total, up to 64 sensors or dry contacts can be monitored in real time with a single Monitoring System 500T. The CAN connection can extend up to 225 meters in length.

Integrated Logic for Notifications and Alarms

The system supports alerts and notifications via email, SMS (modem required), and SNMP traps. You can group sensors and define logical rules for triggered actions.

Didactum Temperature Sensor – Temperature Monitoring of Critical Infrastructure

Monitor the critical environmental factor of temperature in your sensitive infrastructures. Prevent unnoticed overheating in critical rooms and systems. Permanent temperature recording supports compliance and auditing requirements.

  • Typical uses of the Didactum temperature sensor:
  • Temperature monitoring of technical and server room infrastructure
  • Long-term temperature logging in warehouses, depots, and archives
  • Temperature monitoring of network, technical, and server cabinets
  • Temperature monitoring of cold storage and industrial buildings

This sensor is specially designed for precise temperature monitoring. It connects easily via RJ11 to the Didactum Monitoring System and is automatically displayed in the web interface. You can access the sensor via network or Internet.

Didactum Humidity Sensor – Monitoring Relative Humidity

Relative humidity (RH) is crucial in many business-critical environments. Low humidity can cause static discharge. In server rooms, low RH may damage sensitive components, while high RH can cause condensation.

These microscopic water droplets can settle on circuit boards and cause shorts.

Typical uses of the Didactum humidity sensor:

  • Humidity measurement in technical and server room infrastructures
  • Humidity measurement in production environments
  • Long-term RH logging in warehouses, depots, and archives
  • Monitoring HVAC systems
  • Building automation
  • Facility and building technology
  • Mold prevention (e.g., black mold)

Easy Installation of the Didactum Humidity Sensor:

Connecting the sensor is simple: just plug it in with a 4-wire patch cable to the IP-based monitoring system. The sensor can be installed up to 50 meters away. It is auto-detected and shown in the web interface. Includes mounting accessories (screws/mounting tape).

Didactum Water Sensor – Reliable Detection of Water and Condensate

For water and moisture detection, Didactum has developed a leak sensor compatible with all Didactum systems. It connects via RJ-12 cable and is auto-detected in the web GUI, where you can define the alert method (email, SMS, SNMP).

Quick and Easy Installation:

The sensor is delivered with screws, mounting tape, and a 2-meter RJ-12 cable. Optionally, it can be installed up to 100 meters from the monitoring system.

Didactum Smoke Sensor – Early Detection of Fire and Smoke

The Didactum smoke sensor is designed for early fire/smoke detection and is compatible with all Didactum systems. It connects via RJ-12 and is auto-displayed in the web GUI.

Up to 15 smoke detectors can be daisy-chained to monitor additional rooms. Use RJ-12 patch cables for chaining. The chain can extend up to 150 meters. Note that chained detectors send a general alarm only.

Set alarm types for fire or smoldering fire in the easy-to-use Didactum web interface. Ensure early warning of fire and smoke in business-critical environments.
