The vandal-resistant emergency intercom station for indoor use
The Akuvox AV-E20S is a compact SIP intercom station with a panic button in the size of a palm of the hand, specifically designed as an emergency call station for indoor use. The cover made of grade 316 stainless steel makes the device impact- and shock-resistant according to IK10 and therefore resistant to vandalism. The E20S fits precisely into common single flush-mounted boxes of types 1299 and 86 and can therefore be integrated unobtrusively and flush into the wall.
Simple in use: A press of the single call button immediately establishes a SIP connection so that a conversation can be held without delay. Dual audio with echo cancellation ensures a clear, intelligible connection. Connection is exclusively wired via Ethernet with Power-over-Ethernet (802.3af); the lean Linux operating system ensures reliable continuous operation.
The E20S is intended exclusively for indoor use and is mounted flush – ideal for corridors, lifts, public buildings, care facilities or office complexes where a voice connection must be established quickly and reliably in an emergency.

The AV-E20S combines all the essential functions of a robust emergency intercom station in a compact, vandal-resistant housing.
Panic button
A single, robust call button immediately establishes a SIP connection in an emergency.
Dual audio with echo cancellation
Clear, intelligible conversations thanks to echo cancellation.
Grade 316 stainless steel
High-quality, corrosion-resistant housing material for continuous use.
IK10 vandalism protection
Impact- and shock-resistant according to IK10 against deliberate damage.
Ethernet & PoE
Connection exclusively by cable – stable connection without Wi-Fi dependency.
Auto Answer
Automatic call acceptance at the remote station for an immediate voice connection.
How the AV-E20S is built
The housing of the AV-E20S is deliberately compact and palm-sized so that the device can be installed unobtrusively in a single flush-mounted box.
Front panel made of grade 316 stainless steel
The front is made of grade 316 stainless steel rather than plastic, giving the device high mechanical robustness and corrosion resistance.
Speaker
Built into the centre of the front, it reproduces the remote voice clearly and intelligibly.
Panic button
A single, robust call button with which a voice connection can be established immediately in an emergency.
Microphone
Picks up the voice of the calling person and transmits it to the remote station.
Ethernet connection with PoE
On the rear is the RJ45 connector via which both the network connection and the power supply are provided by Power-over-Ethernet.
Mounting type
The E20S is mounted flush and fits precisely into common single flush-mounted boxes of types 1299 and 86.
How an emergency call works
Operation of the AV-E20S is deliberately simple so that no time is lost in an emergency.
- Pressing the panic button immediately triggers a SIP call
- Direct voice connection thanks to Auto Answer at the remote station
- Dual audio with echo cancellation for clear communication
- Integration into any SIP-capable IP telephone system possible
Practical example: A resident of a care facility presses the panic button of the E20S in the lift. The connection to the reception or control centre is established immediately so that conversation can take place directly – without dialling or waiting time.
Integration into existing telephone systems
The AV-E20S is designed as an open SIP device and can be seamlessly integrated into existing IP telephone systems.
SIP
Supports SIP v1 (RFC2543) and SIP v2 (RFC3261) with one SIP account.
QoS
Quality of Service support for prioritised, stable voice transmission.
DHCP or static IP
Flexible integration into different network environments.
NTP
Automatic time synchronisation for correct system time.
For voice transmission, the AV-E20S uses the audio codecs G.711a, G.711µ and G.722. On the network side, the device supports among others IPv4, HTTP(S), FTP, DNS, NTP, RTP, TCP, UDP, ICMP, DHCP and ARP.
Robustly built for continuous use in high-traffic areas
As an emergency call station, the AV-E20S is exposed to potential sabotage and vandalism – the design is accordingly geared towards resistance.
- Front panel made of grade 316 stainless steel
- Impact- and shock-resistant according to IK10
- Intended for indoor use only
- NDAA-compliant and therefore also suitable for authorities and public sector clients
