The robust SIP emergency call station with camera
The Akuvox AV-E21V is a compact SIP intercom station with integrated Full HD camera, specifically developed for use as an emergency call intercom. In the centre of the front panel sits a robust panic button, via which a voice connection is established immediately in an emergency – supplemented by a live image from the camera so that the remote station can assess the situation on site directly. The manufacturer positions the entire E21 series for public areas such as multi-storey car parks, underground stations, company premises, educational institutions and medical facilities.
Two versions of the E21 series: Akuvox offers the series either as E21A without camera or – as described here – as E21V with integrated 2-megapixel camera. The AV-E21V supplements the pure voice function with video surveillance including infrared night vision.
The housing is made of grade 316 stainless steel and is impact- and shock-resistant according to IK10. In combination with the optionally available flush-mounted box, the station achieves IP65 protection rating and is therefore also suitable for continuous outdoor use.

How the AV-E21V is built
The design of the AV-E21V is deliberately reduced: the fewer moving and protruding parts, the less surface area for vandalism.
Front panel made of grade 316 stainless steel
The entire front consists of weather-resistant grade 316 stainless steel. Together with the IK10 classification, the front withstands deliberate blows and continuous stress.
Camera section with night vision
Above the operating unit sits the camera optics with a field of view of 116° horizontal and 60° vertical, complemented by infrared LEDs, a light sensor and a motion sensor for detecting activity in front of the station.
Illuminated panic button
Instead of a conventional call button, a single robust button is located in the centre, which in an emergency immediately establishes a SIP video connection to the stored remote station.
Reset button on the circuit board
An additional reset button is built in internally on the electronics and is intended exclusively for the installer to reset the device – it is not accessible from the outside.
Microphone and speaker
A microphone and speaker discreetly integrated into the front handle the hands-free connection including echo cancellation.
Rear connections
On the rear are the Ethernet connection with PoE support, two relay outputs, two inputs and a line-out connection – sufficient to connect, for example, a door or gate control.
Mounting and protection rating
The AV-E21V is designed as a flush-mounted device and is recessed flush into the wall. For full outdoor use with IP65 protection rating, a matching flush-mounted box is additionally required, which is available as a separate accessory.
From button press to live image
The panic button is the central operating path of the AV-E21V – supplemented by a camera image that the remote station can follow live, as well as the option to open a door or gate directly during the call.

Practical example: A person presses the panic button of the AV-E21V at an underground station. The responsible control centre answers the call, sees the person live even in darkness thanks to the IR LEDs and, if required, opens a nearby door via DTMF tone so that help can arrive more quickly.

What is the Akuvox AV-E21V and what is it used for?
