AKCP Security Sensor Magnetic Contact – Professional Security Monitoring for Critical Infrastructures
Reliable 24/7 Monitoring
How will you be notified if your business-critical rooms are accessed during weekends or after hours? Who will alert you if your server cabinet is opened? How can you determine if the doors and windows in your branch are closed? Here is the answer: Increase the security in your rooms by installing the AKCP Security Sensor Magnetic Contact and the associated network-based AKCP sensorProbe and AKCP securityProbe monitoring systems!
The AKCP Security Sensor is an advanced magnetic contact switch specifically designed for professional security monitoring. As a simple but effective sensor, it can be placed on any door, cabinet, or window to reliably detect open or closed positions. This magnetic contact technology makes it ideal for applications where you simply need to know if a door is open or closed, without implementing an access control system.
Immediate Notification When the Magnetic Contact is Triggered
The AKCP Security Sensor was developed for the 24/7 access control of important infrastructures such as data centers, server rooms, technical rooms, and warehouses. In combination with the proven AKCP sensorProbe and AKCP securityProbe monitoring systems, you and your colleagues will be alerted via email, SMS, or SNMP trap to your system monitoring if roller shutters, doors, or windows are opened without authorization. The AKCP securityProbe monitoring systems also support additional alarm types such as voice alarm or telephone call (optional GSM modem required).
The magnetic contact switch operates with an input measurement rate of several readings per second, ensuring extremely fast response times. The normal input state can be set via software, providing maximum flexibility in configuration.
Versatile Product Variants for Every Application
Standard Security Sensor (SS15)
The standard security sensor with a 15-foot cable offers a robust solution for most applications. With dimensions of 64.05 x 43.32 x 20.05 mm, it is compact enough for discreet installations while being robust enough for industrial environments.
Recessed Security Sensor (SS15-R)
This recessed security sensor is designed as a concealed type and is mounted inside the door and frame. It provides an elegant and clean installation that is not visible from the outside. With a length of 597.61 mm and compact dimensions, it enables discreet monitoring without affecting the appearance.
Compact Security Sensor (SS15-C)
The compact door contact sensor is particularly discreet and made of durable ABS plastic. It can be mounted with both double-sided adhesive tape and the included screws. Its compact dimensions of just 23.11 x 14.02 x 12.55 mm make it nearly invisible.
Aluminum Security Sensor (SS15-A)
For environments where plastic could be easily damaged or broken, the security sensor made from milled aluminum provides the ideal solution. Its robust construction ensures reliable operation even under extreme conditions.
ATTENTION: Longer cable variants available only upon written request!
Applications of the Security Sensor
The AKCP Security Sensor Magnetic Contact offers a wide range of applications:
- Server Cabinet Monitoring: Monitoring of front and rear doors as well as side panels of IT cabinets
- Door, Roller Shutter, and Window Monitoring: Comprehensive building security
- Access Control of Important Rooms: Protection of sensitive areas
- Sensor Interaction: Triggering alarm sirens with strobe lights
- Remote Monitoring: Ideal for unattended rooms in remote locations
Easy Installation and Configuration
The installation of the AKCP Security Sensor is exceptionally simple. The security of existing technical cabinets, switch cabinets, and server cabinets can also be easily enhanced with this magnetic contact sensor. After installation, you only need to plug the RJ-45 connector into a free sensor port of the AKCP sensorProbe or AKCP securityProbe monitoring system.
Thanks to the Auto-Sense function, the security sensor is automatically identified and displayed in the web interface of the AKCP sensorProbe or AKCP securityProbe. This plug-and-play functionality significantly reduces installation effort and enables quick commissioning.
Advanced Configuration Options
In the web interface of the AKCP sensorProbe or AKCP securityProbe, the AKCP Security Sensor can be quickly and easily configured. You can individually define how you want to be alerted in the event of unauthorized access or entry. Custom time and weekday filters can be activated, for example, alarm only outside regular working hours.
The software allows you to define the normal input state, so you can determine whether an open or closed state is considered normal. This provides maximum flexibility for different monitoring scenarios.
Scalable Solutions through Series Connection
If you require a large number of security sensors, the security sensors can be connected in series and only occupy one sensor port of the monitoring system. Theoretically, an unlimited number of sensors can be wired in series, using only one port. In this configuration, however, you will only receive the information that one of the sensors in the chain has reported a critical state, without knowing which specific sensor was triggered.
Technical Specifications and Performance
The AKCP Security Sensor operates with a typical power consumption of only 8.95 mWatt (1.79 mA) and is fully powered by the sensorProbe2 or sensorProbe2+ system—no additional power supply required. Communication is via an RJ-45 connector using UTP Cat 5 cable, with distances of up to 1000 feet (305 meters) achievable with approved low-capacity shielded cables or UTP.
The system offers full autosense functionality, including a disconnect alarm, which means that not only the open/closed state is monitored, but also a cable break is detected.
SNMP Integration and Network Compatibility
All AKCP sensorProbe and AKCP securityProbe monitoring systems are fully SNMP-compatible. The Security Sensor is equipped with an Object Identifier (OID) and can be seamlessly integrated into SNMP tools such as MRTG or Cacti as well as network management systems such as OpenNMS, Nagios, or PRTG. Direct querying of the sensor via the network using SNMP is fully supported.
This network integration enables the Security Sensor to be integrated into existing IT infrastructures and managed centrally. Administrators can monitor and configure all security sensors from a central point.
Flexible Mounting Options
Depending on requirements, the magnetic contact sensor can also be mounted via volt-free contacts. This provides additional flexibility for integration into existing security systems. The different sensor variants offer mounting options for virtually any application—from discreet flush mounting to robust industrial-grade aluminum versions.
Reliability and Maintenance
The AKCP Security Sensor is designed for continuous operation and offers the highest reliability. The magnetic contact technology is wear-free and maintenance-free, ensuring low operating costs in the long term. The robust construction of all variants ensures that the sensors function reliably even under demanding environmental conditions.
Through continuous monitoring and the ability for remote diagnostics, potential problems can be detected and resolved early before they become security vulnerabilities.
Comprehensive Security Solution
The AKCP Security Sensor Magnetic Contact represents a professional, reliable, and scalable solution for monitoring critical infrastructures. With its various designs, easy installation, flexible configuration, and comprehensive network integration, it offers everything required for modern security monitoring.
Whether for individual server cabinets or comprehensive building monitoring—the AKCP Security Sensor gives you the assurance that you will be immediately notified of any unauthorized openings. The combination of proven magnetic contact technology and state-of-the-art network technology makes it the first choice for professional security applications.
