AKCP securityProbe5E-X20: Professional Network Monitoring Solution for Critical Infrastructure
The AKCP securityProbe5E-X20 is a highly advanced monitoring system and alarm server specifically designed for demanding environmental monitoring in data centers, industrial facilities, and critical IT infrastructures. As an enhanced version of the proven securityProbe5E series, this monitoring system offers a complete solution for security monitoring and infrastructure surveillance, featuring 20 dry contact inputs and comprehensive video surveillance capabilities.
Advanced Network Integration and TCP/IP Compatibility
The securityProbe5E-X20 is fully TCP/IP-compatible and operates with an integrated lighttpd web server that supports advanced security standards such as HTTPS (SSL). Its comprehensive software suite includes Bash, Perl, Telnet, PHP, email functionality, and Nagios integration. The system features an intuitive web-based user interface that allows for easy configuration of connected sensors, comprehensive data acquisition, and insightful graphical representations.
Full SNMP functionality, including secure SNMP v3 encryption, is supported, ensuring seamless integration into existing network monitoring systems. This enables IT administrators to centrally monitor and manage all connected sensors and alarm systems using standardized protocols.
Modbus Integration and Gateway Functionality
The AKCP securityProbe5E-X20 fully supports Modbus Master/Slave, Modbus RTU, and Modbus over TCP/IP, creating a unique and easy-to-configure Modbus-to-SNMP gateway. This functionality enables the integration of various industrial devices and sensors into a unified monitoring system. The web-based interface allows users to make custom adjustments such as language translations and personalized configurations.
For precise timestamps and accurate data logging, the securityProbe5E-X20 is equipped with a battery-backed real-time clock that ensures correct timekeeping even during power outages. This feature is especially crucial for data centers and mission-critical applications that require uninterrupted logging.
Intelligent Sensor Integration and Scalability
Up to 8 intelligent AKCP sensors can be directly connected to the RJ-45 ports of the securityProbe5E-X20. The system offers plug-and-play functionality: once a sensor is connected, it is automatically detected, self-configures, and goes online. This auto-configuration significantly reduces installation effort and minimizes configuration errors.
Using E-Sensor8 or E-opto16 expansion modules, up to 500 sensors can be connected to a single device. This scalability makes the securityProbe5E-X20 ideal for large data centers, industrial sites, and complex IT infrastructures. The expansion modules are daisy-chainable and can operate over distances of up to 300 meters.
20 Dry Contact Inputs for Maximum Flexibility
A standout feature of the securityProbe5E-X20 is its 20 dry contact inputs, allowing direct monitoring of a wide range of security sensors. These dry contact inputs can be used for monitoring:
- Door and window contacts for access control
- Motion detectors for security surveillance
- Smoke detectors and fire alarm systems
- Water leak sensors
- Power failure alerts
- Vibration sensors
- Temperature threshold switches
- Other security-relevant devices
These dry contact inputs provide maximum flexibility for integrating existing security systems and enable cost-effective expansion of current monitoring infrastructures without complex rewiring.
Professional Video Surveillance and CCTV Integration
The securityProbe5E-X20 offers comprehensive video surveillance features, with various camera connection options depending on the model variant:
Digital Video Surveillance:
- 4x BNC inputs for analog video cameras
- NTSC/PAL compatibility
- External power supply for cameras
- Integration of existing surveillance cameras
Video monitoring can be controlled directly via the web interface, with live images displayed in various resolutions. PTZ cameras can be fully remote-controlled via the CCTV system, allowing centralized monitoring of all critical areas.
Comprehensive Alarm and Notification Systems
The notification system of the securityProbe5E-X20 offers a wide range of alerting options. Notifications can be sent via email, SMS, phone call (additional hardware required), or SNMP traps to network monitoring systems. The system can automatically trigger relays, wake or shut down remote servers, transfer data via FTP, execute custom scripts, and much more.
To prevent false alarms, the system supports extensive event filtering. Alerts can be limited to specific times or days of the week, and the number of alerts per hour can be restricted. This is especially useful for motion sensors, where alerts should only be triggered outside business hours.
Technical Specifications and Robust Design
The AKCP securityProbe5E-X20 is powered by a high-performance i.MX25 processor with 128 MB SDRAM and 128 MB NAND flash memory. Network connectivity is provided via a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port. The device also includes a USB 2.0 modem port for external modem connections, RS485 ports for industrial communication, and integrated audio features with built-in microphone and speaker.
An optional internal 3G/4G modem can be installed to send SMS alerts directly from the device or to enable communication in locations without network access. This mobile integration makes the system ideal for remote monitoring of isolated sites.
The 1U rack mount design with included mounting brackets simplifies integration into existing server and network cabinets. Its durable construction ensures reliable operation even in harsh environments.
Data Visualization and Advanced Reporting Functions
The securityProbe5E-X20 alarm server integrates all sensor data into its web-based user interface and presents it as clear graphical displays. Data can be visualized over various timeframes (day, week, month, year) for each sensor type and is fully customizable. The integrated RRD tool creates an embedded database of all sensor data, which can be accessed via the web interface or downloaded to remote PCs.
For advanced analysis, MRTG can be used to generate real-time sensor data charts on external websites. The heartbeat function automatically reports the full status of the device and all connected sensors, ensuring continuous system monitoring.
Easy Installation and Long-Term Maintenance
The user-friendly web interface allows the securityProbe5E-X20 alarm server to be set up within minutes. The system provides platform-independent, free firmware upgrades and utilities from AKCP, ensuring long-term investment protection.
Virtual sensors expand monitoring capabilities to power supplies, Modbus devices, network equipment, and other SNMP-based systems. This makes the securityProbe5E-X20 a central monitoring platform for the entire IT infrastructure and offers IT administrators a unified solution for all critical monitoring requirements.
