Enhanced Functionality Through Integrated Dry Contacts
Unlike the base version, the SPX4-X10 features 10 integrated I/O dry contacts, enabling direct connection to existing building and facility technology. These dry contact interfaces can be configured as inputs for external alarm signals or as outputs to control downstream systems.
The dry contacts operate with 0VDC/5VDC signal levels, allowing seamless integration of air conditioning systems, UPS units, backup generators, fire alarm systems, and other critical infrastructure elements. This LAN integration of relays and signaling systems creates centralized environmental monitoring that goes far beyond pure sensor monitoring.
Next-Generation Intelligent Sensor Integration
The core of the SPX4-X10 consists of four RJ45 sensor ports for AKCP sensors. These intelligent interfaces support automatic detection and configuration of all connected monitoring components. The system automatically recognizes each sensor and displays it in the intuitive web interface.
For precise temperature monitoring, various types of sensors are available, from standard temperature sensors to specialized thermocouple sensors for extreme environments. Humidity monitoring is provided by high-precision sensors, also available in waterproof versions for demanding environments.
Airflow sensors monitor critical air circulation in server rooms and data centers, while smoke detectors provide early warning of fire and smoldering hazards. Special sensors for DC and AC measurement complete the electrical monitoring of the IT infrastructure.
Comprehensive Protection Against Environmental Hazards
Water detection is provided by a multi-level system of different sensor types. Point-type water sensors detect leaks at critical locations, while water detection cables enable large-area monitoring under raised floors. Advanced systems even offer precise localization of the leakage point.
For special industrial applications, detectors for hydrocarbons such as gasoline, diesel, and kerosene are available. These sensors are especially critical in data centers with backup generators or in industrial environments.
Advanced Security Monitoring
The security monitoring of the SPX4-X10 includes PIR motion detectors for detecting unauthorized persons, magnetic contacts for doors, windows, and gates, as well as glass break and vibration detectors for protection against intrusion attempts. Ultrasonic sensors also enable level monitoring of fuel tanks for backup generators.
The combination of sensor monitoring and dry contacts creates a multi-layered security concept that reliably detects and reports both physical and environmental threats.
Professional Alarm Management Systems
The SPX4-X10 offers a wide range of alerting options via various communication channels. Email notifications with configurable recipient lists, SMS dispatch via optional GSM modules, and SNMP traps to central network monitoring software ensure that critical events are never missed.
SNMP integration enables seamless connection to established monitoring platforms such as Nagios, PRTG, HP OpenView, IBM Tivoli, check_MK, openITCOCKPIT, or WhatsUp Gold. All required MIB files and a specialized Nagios plugin are already included.

For central management of multiple SPX4-X10 systems, the AKCess Pro Server DCIM platform offers a unified management interface. This integrated solution combines environment monitoring, video surveillance, and access control in a coherent management suite.
The central platform enables monitoring of decentralized infrastructures and provides sophisticated escalation management for critical events. All events are archived in the central database with precise time and date stamps and are available for compliance reports and trend analyses.
SmartRack Technology for Server Cabinet Monitoring

The integration of smartRack technology extends monitoring capabilities to the rack level. Thermal map sensors provide detailed thermal monitoring of individual 19-inch racks by precisely measuring supply and exhaust air temperatures. This granular monitoring enables early detection of hotspots and optimizes cooling efficiency.
RFID-based swing handle locks provide controlled physical access to critical server cabinets. In combination with magnetic contacts on all rack openings, a seamless security concept against unauthorized access is created.
Modern Network Protocols and Security Standards
