AKCP Thermocouple Sensors for Industrial Temperature Monitoring
AKCP thermocouple sensors are widely used in research and engineering environments and have proven to be a reliable solution for demanding temperature measurements. Within the scope of network-based monitoring of extreme temperature ranges, two high-precision thermocouple types are offered, specifically designed for industrial applications.
Easy Installation and Auto Detection
After mounting the appropriate thermocouple to the correct adapter, simply connect the RJ45 cable to an available sensor port on the AKCP securityProbe. This makes installation particularly user-friendly and requires no special technical expertise. Through the Auto Sense function, the AKCP thermocouple sensor unit is immediately recognized by the securityProbe, and temperature monitoring begins automatically. This intelligent detection eliminates time-consuming configuration steps and ensures instant operational readiness.
The securityProbe’s disconnect function immediately alerts you if the thermocouple sensor is no longer connected to the securityProbe alarm server. This monitoring function ensures continuous system integrity and prevents unnoticed failures in critical monitoring scenarios.
Different Types of AKCP Thermocouple Sensors
K-Type Thermocouple Sensor for Extreme Temperature Ranges
The K-type temperature sensor is currently one of the most commonly used thermocouples in industrial temperature monitoring. This advanced sensing tip consists of a special nickel-chromium/nickel alloy and enables precise measurement of extreme temperatures ranging from -200°C to +900°C (-330°F to 1650°F). Its robust construction makes the K-type sensor ideal for applications in metal processing, ceramics, and other high-temperature environments.
The exceptional temperature stability and long-term reliability of the K-type thermocouple make it the top choice for continuous monitoring tasks in demanding industrial environments. Its high resistance to corrosion ensures long lifespan even under harsh chemical conditions.
J-Type Thermocouple Sensor for Industrial Applications
The J-type thermocouple consists of a unique iron-copper/nickel alloy and supports temperature monitoring in industrial applications ranging from -40°C to +750°C (-40°F to 1382°F). This sensor technology is characterized by a particularly fast response time and high accuracy, making it ideal for process control and quality assurance.
The J-type sensor is particularly well suited for applications in the food and pharmaceutical industries and other sectors where moderate to high temperatures must be precisely monitored. Its stable characteristics across the entire range ensure reliable measurements in critical production processes.
Both thermocouple temperature sensors are securely mounted to the corresponding AKCP adapter and offer maximum compatibility thanks to their standardized interface.
Technical Specifications and Measurement Accuracy
AKCP thermocouples impress with their highly accurate measurement technology and offer different resolutions depending on the securityProbe model used. When connected to the sensorProbe+ series, both sensor types achieve an impressive resolution of 0.1°C (0.2°F), while the securityProbe series offers a resolution of 0.5°C (0.9°F). The measurement accuracy for both systems is a reliable ±5°C (±9°F) across the entire temperature range.
Power is efficiently supplied directly through the AKCP securityProbe with a typical consumption of only 7.80 mW (1.56 mA). No additional external power supply is required, simplifying installation and reducing operating costs. A maximum cable length of 100 feet (30 meters) allows for flexible installation in large industrial facilities.
Features of the AKCP Thermocouple Sensor
The AKCP thermocouple sensor is ideally suited for heavy industry applications, such as petrochemicals and metal processing. With its exceptional measuring range, it is also perfect for low-temperature monitoring in cryogenic and medical technology applications. Its rugged design ensures reliable operation even under extreme environmental conditions.
The sensors are compatible with the AKCP securityProbe and sensorProbe+ series, fully utilizing their advanced functionalities. The wide temperature range enables versatile use in various industrial applications, from quality control to process optimization.
Advanced Data Logging and Intelligent Alerts
The AKCP securityProbe reliably stores all data collected by the thermocouple sensor and offers extensive analysis options. Through the user-friendly web interface of the AKCP securityProbe alarm server, you can set individual thresholds and warning levels for each sensor to meet your specific requirements. This flexible configuration enables customized monitoring of different process parameters.
The versatile alert options allow you to receive notifications via email, SMS, MMS, fax, or phone if the defined temperature thresholds are exceeded or undercut. Phone and SMS functions require a GSM modem that can be seamlessly integrated into the system. This multi-channel alert system ensures that critical temperature changes never go unnoticed.
Professional integration into central network management systems or existing control room solutions is easily achieved via standardized SNMP traps. This functionality allows seamless integration into complex infrastructures and supports centralized monitoring concepts.
Remote Monitoring and Data Analysis
The current temperature values from the thermocouple sensors connected to the AKCP securityProbe alarm server can be remotely queried at any time via SNMP commands over the network or internet. This remote access feature is especially valuable for facilities at remote sites or for mobile monitoring applications.
The measured data from the thermocouples is displayed graphically in the clear web interface of the securityProbe and can be exported for detailed analysis. Compatibility with Microsoft Excel and Cacti enables professional processing of the data for reports, trend analysis, and process optimization.
Compatibility and System Requirements
AKCP thermocouple sensors are compatible with the AKCP securityProbe and sensorProbe+ series and fully leverage their specific features. The use of high-quality UTP CAT5e/6 cables or specially shielded low-capacitance cables ensures interference-free signal transmission even over long distances.
The compact dimensions of the adapters (56 x 55 x 33.3 mm) allow for space-saving installation even in tight spaces. The standardized RJ-45 interface ensures a secure and reliable connection to the securityProbe.
AKCP thermocouple sensors provide a professional and dependable solution for demanding industrial temperature monitoring and, thanks to their well-thought-out design, offer maximum flexibility for a wide range of applications.
Note: This sensor is compatible with the AKCP securityProbe and sensorProbe+ series.
