The vandal-resistant video door intercom with package detection for upscale residential properties
The Akuvox AV-X910 is a single-button video door intercom with a dark aluminium front panel, specially developed for high-end residential properties. Beyond pure video intercom functionality, the device actively detects packages left at the door and notifies residents, so that deliveries can be additionally monitored. This is made possible by two cameras: a 5-megapixel main camera and a complementary 2-megapixel secondary camera, both with automatic light adaptation as well as infrared and white-light LEDs for recordings in any lighting situation.
Robust and vandal-resistant: With an IP65 protection rating against dust and water jets and impact resistance to IK08, the AV-X910 is designed for continuous use at high-traffic or publicly accessible entrances. Accordingly, the device is mounted exclusively surface-mounted (Wall Mount); a matching wall mounting bracket is available as an accessory. Connection is wired via Ethernet (RJ45, 10/100 Mbps) with Power over Ethernet according to 802.3at.
Door opening is possible via a connected video station, by Mifare card at the integrated reader, by QR code, via Bluetooth (BLE 5.0) or conveniently via the Akuvox SmartPlus app on the smartphone.
Video, audio and access in one device
The AV-X910 combines all the essential functions of a professional door intercom in a compact, dark housing with a Linux operating system.
Two cameras
5-megapixel main camera plus 2-megapixel secondary camera, both with automatic light adaptation.
Package detection
Detects packages left at the door and notifies residents with a notification.
QR code scanning
Access release by scanning a QR code directly at the camera.
Two-way audio with noise suppression
Clear conversations thanks to echo cancellation and additional noise suppression.
Bluetooth BLE 5.0
Door opening via Bluetooth signal from the smartphone, without card or app interaction.
SmartPlus app
Call answering, live image and door opening from anywhere via smartphone.
How the AV-X910 is built
The slim, dark housing of the AV-X910 deliberately forgoes a keypad and instead relies on a single backlit doorbell button as well as two cameras for a particularly clear all-round view.
Aluminium front panel
The front consists of robust aluminium in a dark tarnish look and is additionally impact-resistant to IK08 to withstand vandalism.
Dual camera section with night vision
The 5-megapixel main camera covers a very wide field of view with 150° horizontal and 116° vertical, complemented by a second 2-megapixel camera. Both benefit from infrared LEDs for night vision and an additional white-light LED, a light sensor with automatic white balance and a motion sensor.
Single doorbell button with card reader
A single blue backlit doorbell button replaces the classic keypad. Directly below it is the integrated card reader for 13.56 MHz Mifare cards.
Microphones and speaker
Two microphones and one speaker handle the voice connection with echo cancellation and active noise suppression.
Connections on the rear
On the rear are the Ethernet connection with PoE, two relay outputs, two inputs as well as a selectable Wiegand port (input/output) and an RS485 interface for connecting external access components.
Mounting type and tamper protection
The housing is designed exclusively for surface mounting (Wall Mount) and is equipped with a tamper alarm against forced dismantling.
Flexible ways to open the door
Depending on the application, the AV-X910 can be used in different ways for access release – the manufacturer refers to this as multi-way unlock.
- Release via a connected Akuvox video station in the building
- Holding a 13.56 MHz Mifare card to the integrated reader
- Scanning a QR code directly at the camera
- Door opening via Bluetooth (BLE 5.0) from the smartphone
- Remote opening via the Akuvox SmartPlus app, even from away
- Individual control of two separate relays via DTMF tones, e.g. for door and gate
Practical example: A courier leaves a delivery at the front door. The AV-X910 automatically detects the package and notifies the resident via the SmartPlus app, who can then check via live image whether the delivery has been safely placed – without anyone having to open the door.
Reliable image even in the dark
The cameras of the AV-X910 are permanently active and automatically adapt to lighting conditions.
- Camera permanently in operation, no manual wake-up required
- Infrared LEDs as well as an additional white-light LED for recordings in the dark
- Automatic white balance for natural colour reproduction
- Minimum illumination of 0.1 lux for recordings in very low light
- Two relays can be controlled independently of each other via DTMF tones
- Motion sensor and tamper alarm for additional security
Integration into existing systems
The AV-X910 is designed as an open SIP device and can be used both standalone and in larger access and video environments.
SIP
Direct integration into IP telephone systems and SIP-capable endpoints.
ONVIF
Connection of the camera image to common video management and surveillance systems.
Wiegand & RS485
Connection of external access readers or serial third-party devices via two open interfaces.
ACMS / SDMC
Central management of multiple Akuvox devices via the Akuvox management platforms, ideal for multiple sites or access points.
For voice transmission, the AV-X910 uses SIP versions v1 (RFC2543) and v2 (RFC3261) as well as the audio codecs G.711a, G.711µ and G.722, supplemented by echo cancellation, voice activity detection and a comfort noise generator. On the network side, the device supports, among other things, IPv4, HTTP(S), FTP, DNS, NTP, RTSP, RTP, TCP, UDP, ICMP, DHCP and ARP. The camera delivers video streams in H.265 with resolutions from CIF to 2K (2592×1944, 30 fps) and can also be connected to third-party network video recorders (NVRs) thanks to ONVIF.
Also designed for a very large number of users standalone
The AV-X910 can manage access data locally on the device even without central management software – with capacity that is generously dimensioned for this device class.
Up to 20,000 users
Local user management directly on the device, even without ACMS/SDMC.
Up to 100,000 cards
Very large capacity, also suitable for generous residential complexes with many authorised persons.
Mifare, DESFire & Felica
Supports Mifare cards, DESFire cards (EV1/EV2/EV3) as well as Felica cards.
According to the manufacturer, the integrated NFC reader for door opening via smartphone (instead of a card) only works with Android devices. iPhone users open the door conveniently via the Akuvox SmartPlus app, by QR code, via Bluetooth (BLE) or by card instead.
Maintenance and operation from remote
For professional operation and remote maintenance, the AV-X910 includes several administrative functions.
- Auto-provisioning for automated initial setup
- Management via a web-based management portal
- Web-based packet dump for network diagnostics
- Backup and restore of the configuration
- Export of access logs (entry logs)
- Export and import of access tables
