Applications

The access sensor is primarily used for the following applications:

Access Control: It monitors the status of doors and windows (open or closed) and is ideally suited for securing access points in sensitive areas such as server rooms, data centers, and restricted facilities.

Intrusion Detection: The sensor detects unauthorized access attempts through continuous monitoring of the status of doors and windows and alerts security systems in real time when access points are breached.

Automation Systems: Integrated into building management systems, it triggers actions such as locking doors, activating alarms, or adjusting environmental controls as soon as doors or windows are opened or closed.

Server Rack Access Control: It monitors whether server rack doors are open or closed and provides real-time status updates. This is critical for protecting sensitive IT equipment and preventing unauthorized access to servers and network hardware.

This sensor is essential in environments where continuous access monitoring is required for security, protection, or automation purposes.

Connections

Connecting the Sensor

Connect one end of the RJ11(6P4C) cable to the monitoring unit at any analog port (A1...A8) and the other end to the "Access Sensor".

The access sensor will appear automatically in the system tree.

  • Weight: 106 g
  • Inputs: RJ11 / RJ12 (6P4C)
  • Outputs: RJ11 / RJ12 (6P4C)
  • Operating Temperature: -10 °C to +80 °C
  • Operating Humidity: 5 % to 95 % (non-condensing)
  • Power Consumption: 60 mW
  • Maximum Distance to Monitoring Device: 150 m

Sensor mounting

Installation example:

Installation

The magnet must be mounted on the door or window. When the door is open, the switch is "Open". When the door is closed, the switch is "Closed".

The logic can be reversed within the Web UI interface.

Depending on the construction of the door/window/rack, the supplied screws, adhesive, or mounting bracket can be used to attach the sensor and the magnet.
