Outdoor temperature sensor for reliable temperature monitoring outdoors

The outdoor temperature sensor is used for temperature monitoring and measurement of temperature in outdoor areas. This sensor is weatherproof (IP65) and compatible with all network-based monitoring systems and alarm systems. The robust IP65 design ensures that the outdoor temperature sensor operates reliably even under extreme weather conditions and is optimally protected against dust and moisture. The high measurement accuracy and long-term stability guarantee precise climate data – even during strong temperature fluctuations or direct sunlight. 

This analog plug-and-play temperature sensor was developed for temperature measurement in outdoor or cold environments. It can be connected to any analog port (A1...A8) of a Didactum monitoring unit, enabling seamless integration into your monitoring system. Thanks to its reliable performance and high measurement accuracy, it is ideal for monitoring outdoor conditions or controlling temperature-critical areas such as cold storage rooms. Automatic detection and simple installation provide precise climate data and immediate alerts for optimal environmental control.

The sensor is equipped with an RJ11 connector and can thus be connected to the monitoring system. The system automatically detects the outdoor temperature sensor and displays it in the web interface. There you can configure it according to your needs, for example by setting thresholds for alerts. You can query the sensor remotely via network or web. Integration into SNMP monitoring tools and network management systems (such as Nagios) is also possible without any problems. SNMP support enables easy integration into existing monitoring systems and ensures rapid alerting in the event of threshold violations.

Installation of the outdoor temperature sensor

The temperature sensor for temperature monitoring and measurement of outdoor temperatures is supplied with a 15-meter RJ-11 connection cable. Optionally, this weatherproof temperature sensor can be extended up to 100 meters using an RJ11 cable. 

Thanks to plug-and-play and automatic sensor detection, installation is particularly easy. The high measurement accuracy is maintained even with longer cable lengths, ensuring precise temperature measurement at almost any location.

Sensor features

  • Logic schemes: Logic schemes are used to specify automatic actions for events that occur in the system. For example, if a threshold is exceeded, an alert can be triggered automatically or ventilation activated.
  • Dashboard view: The system allows individual customization of the dashboard for each user and visually displays the most important climate data. Add widgets with multi-graphs, gauge meters, or knobs to make temperature monitoring clear and efficient. 
  • Thresholds: Each sensor has low alarm, low warning, normal, high warning, and high alarm threshold states for logic control and sending notifications. This enables targeted alerting and quick response to temperature deviations. 
  • Graphs and logging: Didactum supports logging on SD cards up to 500 GB. This allows a whole system equipped with sensors to be recorded over a period of up to 3 years. The stored climate data are valuable for analysis and optimization of temperature monitoring.
