Didactum PDU-4M – Remotely Switchable and Monitored Intelligent PDU with Sensor Connectivity
The Didactum PDU-4M is a compact, powerful, and modern intelligent PDU specifically designed to meet the demands of server rooms, data centers, and industrial environments. This remotely controllable PDU offers four individually controllable IEC-320 C13 outlets for 110/240V. Each outlet can be independently switched — On, Off, Reset, or Toggle — and is precisely measured individually. This makes the Didactum PDU-4M ideal for demand-based power distribution and energy optimization in demanding IT and industrial applications.
Thanks to state-of-the-art metering technology, the power-monitored PDU provides detailed information on electrical parameters such as voltage, current, frequency, active power, apparent power, and consumed energy (real energy). These values are recorded separately for each outlet and can be used to optimize energy consumption or diagnose faults. The PDU with sensor interface thus offers comprehensive control over the power flow across the entire rack.
Network Integration and Remote Control
The LAN-enabled PDU features an integrated network interface, allowing seamless integration into existing infrastructures. Through the intuitive, user-friendly web interface — available in 29 languages — all functions can be easily managed and configured. All outlets can be remotely turned on or off, enabling quick responses in the event of a fault without requiring on-site access. This saves time, reduces downtime, and lowers operational costs.
Additionally, the remote PDU offers full compatibility with common M2M standards and supports a variety of protocols such as REST API and SNMP. This allows for easy integration and automation within existing monitoring systems. This is a significant advantage, especially in larger IT environments.
Environmental Monitoring via CAN Sensors

An optional USB camera can be connected, which automatically captures images in JPEG format in the event of an alarm. Long-Term Data Logging
Another advantage of the Didactum PDU-4M is its ability to record data long-term. With an SDHC or SDXC memory card of up to 512 GB, the PDU can store recorded values and events for up to 5 years.
