Rack Monitoring and Data Center Monitoring at the Highest Level
The Didactum Monitoring System 550T is the powerful 19" rackmount solution from the Didactum Monitoring family – designed for monitoring multiple racks in data centers, for building management systems (BMS), and for use in production environments. The device continuously records critical environmental parameters – from temperature and humidity to smoke, water intrusion, and airflow, through to voltage, vibration, and unauthorized access – and reports anomalies in real time, before they turn into costly downtime or data loss.
Compared to the more compact Didactum models, the 550T offers significantly more inputs/outputs, two CAN bus ports instead of one, and dual relay outputs – making it designed for demanding multi-rack and BMS scenarios. Configuration is done entirely through the built-in web browser interface, sensors are detected automatically, and the device integrates seamlessly into existing monitoring landscapes such as Zabbix, PRTG, Nagios, or Check_MK via SNMP, Modbus TCP/IP, Syslog, or a REST API.
As your environment grows, the 550T grows with it: additional sensors and third-party devices can be integrated via CAN expansion units, Modbus RTU/TCP connectivity, and daisy-chaining, turning the rack unit into a significantly larger monitoring network whenever needed – without having to replace the base unit.

Real-Time Monitoring and Automated Alerting
The 550T responds instantly to critical readings. When thresholds are exceeded, the system automatically sends email notifications, SNMP traps, or activates a siren. With an installed LTE modem, SMS and call notifications are also available. Integration with monitoring software such as Zabbix, PRTG, Nagios, or Check_MK is straightforward thanks to standard network protocols (HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, FTP, SNMP, Syslog, Modbus TCP/IP, DHCP).
Practical example: A temperature sensor in the data center reports critical readings. The system automatically activates ventilation and alarm lights via the relay outputs, sends email and an SNMP trap to the IT staff responsible, and permanently logs the incident – preventing overheating damage before it happens.
Web-Based Control & Intelligent Automation
The multilingual web interface allows easy management of sensors, relays, alarms, and scenarios.
- Temperature > 30 °C → turn on cooling, trigger alarm
- Door opened → send email to administrator, turn on light
- Water intrusion → activate siren, close valves via relay
- Voltage failure on UPS system → activate redundant power source, send alarm
The 550T can be used as an I/O controller for doors, fans, generators, UPS, circuit breakers, air conditioning, or lighting – ideal for data center management, building automation, and preventive maintenance.
