The Smart Control Center for Your IT Room
The Didactum Monitoring System 50T is a compact, powerful, and cost-effective monitoring solution for server rooms, IT racks, and technical facilities. As a self-contained unit, it continuously records critical environmental parameters – from temperature and humidity to smoke and water intrusion, power outages, vibration, and unauthorized access – and reports anomalies in real time, long before they turn into costly downtime or data loss.
The 50T is deliberately designed as the entry-level model in the Didactum Monitoring family: it packs everything a single server room, small data center, or network cabinet needs for monitoring into a compact footprint – with no separate server, licensing costs, or additional software required. Configuration is done entirely through the web browser, sensors are automatically detected via AutoSense, and the device integrates seamlessly into existing monitoring landscapes such as Zabbix, PRTG, or Nagios via SNMP, Syslog, or a REST API.
As your environment grows, the 50T grows with it: additional sensors can be added via CAN expansion units and daisy-chaining, turning the compact entry-level solution into a significantly larger monitoring network whenever needed – without having to replace the base unit.
Comprehensive Server Room and Environmental Monitoring
The 50T reliably captures all critical factors in server rooms and technical facilities in real time.
Temperature & Humidity
Protects against overheating and condensation on racks and in server rooms.
Power & UPS Systems
Ensures continuous availability of the power supply.
Smoke & Leak Detection
Early warning of fire or water damage before major harm occurs.
Airflow & Vibration
Early detection of disruptions in cooling and the surrounding environment.
Access Control
Secures server cabinets and technical rooms against unauthorized access.
Comprehensive Sensor Integration for IT Security
The 50T supports up to 100 sensors simultaneously – risks are detected and reported automatically.
Temperature & Humidity Sensors
Precise measurement for server rooms and IT racks.
Vibration Sensors
Detect impacts or tampering on racks and doors.
Magnetic Contact & Motion Sensors
Reliably monitor doors and windows.
Leak & Water Sensors
Early warning of flooding and condensation.
Smoke Detectors
Real-time early detection of fire hazards.
Power & Voltage Sensors
Monitoring of UPS systems, mains voltage, and consumption.
With this sensor variety, risks such as overheating, humidity, leaks, and unauthorized access are automatically detected and reported – ideal for IT rooms, racks, network distributors, and small data centers.
Real-Time Monitoring and Automated Alerting
The 50T responds instantly to critical readings. When thresholds are exceeded, the system automatically sends email notifications, SMS, SNMP traps, or activates a siren. Integration with monitoring software such as Zabbix, PRTG, or Nagios is straightforward thanks to standard network protocols (HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, FTP, SNMP, Syslog, DHCP).
Practical example: A temperature sensor reports critical readings. The system activates ventilation and alarm lights and sends email and SMS to the IT staff responsible – preventing overheating damage to servers before it happens.
Web-Based Control & Intelligent Automation
The intuitive web interface allows easy management of sensors, alarms, and scenarios.
- Temperature > 30 °C → turn on ventilation, trigger alarm
- Door opened → send SMS to administrator
- Water intrusion → activate siren, send email notification
- Vibration on rack → trigger security alarm
The 50T can be used as an I/O controller for air conditioning, UPS, generators, lighting, or fans – ideal for IT environment management, building automation, and preventive maintenance.
Full Control
Monitor devices, turn sensor data into actionable insights, and configure integrations – all through an intuitive, web-based interface.
- Monitor real-time data from all connected sensors and devices
- Create automated actions based on defined conditions
- Send email, Telegram, HTTP request, SNMP, or other notifications
- Visualize trends and logs for better decision-making
- Securely manage users, permissions, and access
Scalable, Reliable, and Future-Proof
The system supports up to 700 elements and can be easily expanded. The daisy-chaining function simplifies cabling: with sensor expansion units, more than 256 sensors can be operated over a total cable length of up to 225 m. Regular firmware updates ensure long-term usability. Made in the EU – German support included.
Connecting CAN Sensors
Multiple CAN devices can be linked together in a chain via the CAN bus. Each 8-port sensor expansion adds 8 additional analog sensors to the system. Each dry-contact expansion unit adds 32 or 64 additional dry-contact inputs. An additional CAN power supply (12V/1A) is only required if the number of CAN devices in the chain exceeds 12.
Building Monitoring & Physical Security
The 50T also protects buildings and technical rooms against unauthorized access and sabotage.
- Glass-break sensors detect broken windows
- Motion detectors secure technical rooms
- Door contacts report unauthorized access
- Smart building integration for lighting, ventilation, and alarms
All sensor and alarm data are also logged with timestamps, helping companies with ISO 27001, GDPR, or industry-specific audits.
Up and Running in Minutes
Setup is quick and easy – no additional software required.
- Connect the device to your network via Ethernet cable
- Connect the included 12V DC power supply – the system starts automatically
- Open the default IP address in your browser (
192.168.0.193, alternatively.101or.62) - Complete the setup wizard for network settings, admin password, and time zone

What is the Didactum Monitoring System 50T and what is it used for?
The Didactum Monitoring System 50T is a professional monitoring solution for IT infrastructures and critical environments. It continuously monitors key parameters such as temperature, humidity, smoke, motion, door contacts, and other sensors. The system is primarily used in server rooms, data centers, warehouses, and other business-critical areas to prevent downtime and provide timely warnings of problems.
Which sensors can be connected to the system?
The Monitoring System 50T supports a wide range of intelligent sensors via the proprietary Didactum sensor network – including temperature sensors, humidity sensors, smoke detectors, PIR motion detectors, door contacts, vibration detectors, water sensors, and voltage sensors. Up to 100 sensors can be monitored simultaneously.
How are alarms and notifications sent?
The system offers various alerting methods: email notifications, SMS, SNMP traps for network management systems, syslog messages, and push notifications via the mobile app. External sirens or visual signal devices can also be connected. Alarm rules are individually configurable with various thresholds and escalation levels.
Can the system be integrated into existing IT infrastructure?
Yes, the Didactum Monitoring System 50T is specifically designed for integration into professional IT environments. It supports SNMP v1/v2c/v3, integrates with common monitoring platforms such as Nagios, PRTG, or Zabbix, and has a REST API for custom integrations. The system connects via Ethernet and can be managed both through a web interface and network management tools.
How is the system connected and set up for the first time?
Connect the device to your network via Ethernet and plug in the 12V DC power supply. The system starts automatically and can be accessed via the default IP address 192.168.0.193 (or .101 or .62) in your web browser. The setup wizard guides you through the basic configuration (network settings, admin password, time zone). Sensors are detected automatically as soon as they are connected to the analog ports. The "Didactum Manager" helps with advanced configuration and setting up alarm rules.
What power supply does the system require and how fail-safe is it?
The Monitoring System 50T is powered by an external 12V DC power supply. All events are permanently logged, and a built-in watchdog ensures automatic restarts in the event of system errors. Redundant network connections can also be configured.
Can the system be expanded if I need more sensors?
Yes. CAN expansion units and the daisy-chaining function allow the number of sensors to be expanded to over 256, with a total cable length of up to 225 meters. This way the system grows with increasing requirements, without needing to replace the base unit.
