Precise Temperature Monitoring with the Didactum Temperature Sensor – Reliable, Scalable, and Versatile
The Didactum temperature sensor is designed for temperature monitoring and temperature measurement of indoor environments in the monitoring sector. Its measuring range is between -40 °C and +100 °C. The accuracy of the IP temperature sensor is +/- 0.4° C. As a modern temperature sensor, it is compatible with all network-based temperature monitoring systems and alarm systems from the company. The sensor is wired and is ideally suited for temperature control in sensitive environments where seamless monitoring of room temperature is required.
Installation of the Temperature Sensor
The RJ11 connector allows for easy connection to the monitoring system. The system detects the sensor automatically and displays it in the web interface, where it can be configured according to the user’s preferences. Temperature monitoring with this sensor is possible both over the network and via the web. Integration into temperature monitoring and network management systems (such as Nagios) is straightforward. The sensor can also be integrated into temperature data loggers and SNMP-based tools. Thanks to flexible connection options, multiple sensors can be combined in one temperature monitoring system to provide comprehensive surveillance even in large facilities.
The package includes mounting materials and a 2-meter cable. Connect the sensor to the Didactum Monitoring System using an RJ11 patch cable. The sensor can be installed up to 100 meters away from the monitoring system - ideal for temperature logging in large facilities, warehouses, or production sites. Continuous temperature measurement ensures that up-to-date values are always available, even under changing environmental conditions.
Applications
The Didactum temperature sensor helps ensure optimal environmental conditions for equipment and inventory across various industries. Precise temperature monitoring is a decisive factor for safety and efficiency in many areas:
- Data Centers & Server Rooms: Use temperature monitoring and temperature control to monitor temperature values in sensitive environments, prevent overheating, and ensure optimal performance of servers and IT equipment. A temperature alarm can be automatically triggered when critical values are exceeded.
- Telecommunications Facilities: With temperature monitoring, you can record the temperature in base stations to protect electronic equipment from extreme temperatures and ensure stable operation.
- Industrial Automation: Temperature measurement ensures that temperature-sensitive machinery always operates within safe limits, preventing failures and production downtime.
- Pharmaceutical Storage: Temperature logging guarantees the safety and stability of temperature-sensitive products such as medicines and vaccines. Every temperature profile can be seamlessly documented.
- Energy and Utility Monitoring: Measure the temperature in utility rooms and control panels to prevent overheating of vital infrastructure and to trigger a temperature alarm in time.
- Warehouses: Use the Didactum temperature sensor and temperature data logger for temperature monitoring in large storage halls to ensure optimal conditions for goods and inventory. Room temperature is continuously monitored and any deviations are reported immediately.
Sensor Features
Logic Schemes: Logic schemes are used to specify automatic actions for events occurring in the system, such as triggering a temperature alarm or activating ventilation systems.
Dashboard View: The temperature monitoring system allows the dashboard to be customized for each user and displays the most important information clearly and visually. Widgets with multi-graphs, gauge meters, or knobs can be added to optimize temperature control.
Thresholds: Each sensor has the states "Low Alarm," "Low Warning," "Normal," "High Warning," and "High Alarm" for logic control and sending notifications.
Graphs and Logging: Didactum supports SD card logging up to 500 GB. You can log an entire system equipped with sensors for up to 3 years, ensuring seamless temperature logging.
Systems with Analog Ports:
To read data from the analog sensors, you need a Didactum monitoring and control system. This allows temperature monitoring to be flexibly adapted to the requirements of any facility.
