Precise indoor temperature monitoring, ready to use
The Didactum temperature sensor is an analog plug-and-play sensor for indoor temperature measurement with an accuracy of ±0.25 °C at room temperature. It is connected via RJ11 cable to any analog port (A1…A8) of a Didactum monitoring system and is automatically detected thanks to AutoSense – no separate configuration of the connection type is required.
The sensor cannot be operated independently and is always used together with a Didactum monitoring system, which records and visualizes the measured values and triggers automated alarms if required.
Reliable temperature monitoring for sensitive environments
The temperature sensor helps to maintain suitable environmental conditions for equipment and assets in a wide range of industries.
Data centers & server rooms
Monitoring the temperature in sensitive environments to prevent overheating and cooling issues.
Telecommunication
Protecting electronic equipment in base stations against extreme temperatures and ensuring operational stability.
Warehousing & logistics
Monitoring the temperature in larger storage areas to protect sensitive goods.
Plug-and-play
Automatic detection at the analog port, no additional configuration required.
Three mounting options
Depending on the installation location, the sensor can be attached in different ways.
Adhesive mounting
The sensor is mounted directly on the desired surface using the supplied adhesive pad.
Screw mounting
Alternatively, the sensor can be mounted on walls using the supplied screw.
Mounting bracket
For flexible positioning, the sensor can be attached to a mounting bracket, either glued or screwed.
The sensor is suitable for indoor mounting both on the wall and inside the rack.
More sensors via the sensor expansion unit
If the analog ports of the monitoring system are no longer sufficient, the number of sensors can easily be increased.
Each 8-port expansion unit connected to the Didactum monitoring system via CAN bus adds 8 additional analog sensor ports. Sensors connected to it are automatically detected and displayed in the system, without any manual configuration.
Full control of thresholds, trends, and automation
The sensor integrates seamlessly into the Didactum web interface and provides precise measurements as well as actionable insights.
- Individual thresholds (Lower Critical, Lower Warning, Normal, Upper Warning, Upper Critical) for each sensor
- Logic schemes for automated actions when thresholds are exceeded
- Clear, individually configurable dashboard
- Graphical trend display and continuous logging of measurement data
- Notifications via e-mail, SMS, SNMP trap and other channels
Use cases of the temperature sensor
- Monitoring server rooms and technical cabinets to prevent overheating
- Protecting telecommunication base stations against extreme temperatures
- Monitoring storage rooms with temperature-sensitive goods
- Enhancing existing monitoring environments (Zabbix, PRTG, Nagios)
- Adding additional measurement points via the 9-port sensor expansion unit
- Audit-proof temperature logging for audits and compliance

Go to tutorial →Frequently asked questions
How is the temperature sensor connected?
The sensor is connected via RJ11 cable to any analog port (A1…A8) of a Didactum monitoring system. Thanks to AutoSense, it is detected automatically, so no manual configuration of the connection type is required.
How accurate is the sensor?
The sensor achieves an accuracy of ±0.25 °C at room temperature and covers an operating range from -10 °C to +80 °C.
How far can the sensor be mounted away from the monitoring system?
The maximum distance to the monitoring system or to a sensor expansion unit is 100 m.
Can the sensor be operated on its own, without a monitoring system?
No. The temperature sensor does not provide any display or evaluation on its own and must always be used together with a Didactum monitoring system that records and processes the measured values.
Can multiple temperature sensors be used at the same time?
Yes. Each analog port of the monitoring system can host one temperature sensor. If the available ports are not sufficient, the number can be increased by an 8-port sensor expansion unit, each adding 8 more analog ports. Daisy-chaining multiple temperature sensors is not possible; each sensor requires its own analog port.
How is the sensor mounted?
The sensor can either be attached directly to a surface with the supplied adhesive pad, screwed to a wall using the enclosed screw, or mounted on a bracket that is glued or screwed in place.
