The securityProbe 5E-X60 provides a complete solution for environmental and security monitoring as well as access control for critical infrastructures. As a TCP/IP-compliant device with an integrated lighttpd web server, it offers state-of-the-art monitoring technology in a robust 2U rack-mount chassis.

Technical Specifications and Dimensions

The securityProbe 5E-X60 features impressive dimensions of 18" x 5" x 3.45" (460mm x 127mm x 87.6mm) and weighs 3.1 kg. This compact design allows easy integration into standard 19-inch racks using the included rack-mount brackets. The device is also compatible with AKCP's DIN and rack-mount trays for flexible installation options.

Power is supplied via an external 7.0-9 VDC 3A power adapter with a typical power consumption of 6.15 watts (0.82A). An optional DCW power supply with an external +/- 40-60V DC input is also available, which is particularly beneficial in industrial environments.

Video Surveillance

The alarm server can simultaneously display images from up to four surveillance cameras in multiple sizes (up to 640x480 pixel resolution). AKCP surveillance cameras are used for professional security monitoring and with CCTV systems. An integrated pan-tilt controller allows full control of pan-tilt dome cameras using the industry-standard Pelco D-Bus via the 4x PTZ controller ports.

60 Dry Contacts with Advanced Features

The core of the securityProbe 5E-X60 is the 60 dry contacts (2-wire dry contact inputs) that function purely as inputs. They can handle voltages up to 5VDC and provide opto-isolation via internal jumper settings to protect against overvoltages up to 40VDC. This feature is especially important in environments prone to voltage spikes.

The dry contact inputs allow monitoring of various security components such as door contacts, window contacts, motion detectors, smoke detectors, or other binary sensors. Each contact can be individually configured and assigned specific alarm parameters.

Advanced Connectivity and Network Features

The securityProbe 5E-X60 features a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet interface for network connectivity. Additionally, optional internal 3G/4G modems can be installed to send SMS alerts directly from the device or communicate in locations without wired network access.

The device offers 8 RJ-45 sensor ports and 2 RJ-45 expansion ports with a data transfer rate of 115.2K BPS. These expansion ports enable simultaneous operation between expansion ports and RS485 port threshold status. An RS485 interface via a 2-pin terminal block is provided for Modbus communication.

Both versions feature 4 PTZ controller ports for Pelco.D-compatible PTZ cameras, allowing full control of pan-tilt surveillance cameras via the industry-standard Pelco D-Bus.

Audio Functions and Communication

The system offers comprehensive audio functions with analog audio input via 2.5mm jack, internal microphone, and internal and external speaker outputs. A microphone output (2.5mm jack) is available for modem applications. The USB 2.0 modem port allows connection of external modems for extended communication options.

The RRD tool creates an embedded database of sensor data, accessible via the web interface or downloadable to a remote PC.

The battery-backed real-time clock ensures accurate timestamps for all records. MRTG can be used to generate real-time graphs of sensor data on remote websites.
