AKCP securityProbe 5E Monitoring System – Professional Environmental and Security Monitoring
Compatible with all intelligent sensors from manufacturer AKCP, the AKCP securityProbe 5E Monitoring System offers a complete solution for environmental and security monitoring as well as access control to critical rooms and facilities.
Technical Specifications and Hardware Architecture
The AKCP securityProbe 5E runs on a Linux operating system and features an AKCP i.MX25 CPU with 128 MB NAND flash memory. The monitoring system supports an HC SD memory card with up to 16GB capacity to enable larger data storage. This network monitoring system is TCP/IP compliant and operates with a lighttpd web server, including HTTPS (SSL), Bash, Perl, Telnet, PHP, email, and Nagios support.
The device operates in a temperature range of -35°C to +55°C and humidity from 20% to 80% (non-condensing), making it ideal for temperature monitoring in critical environments.
Advanced SNMP and Modbus Functionality
The AKCP securityProbe 5E features an easy-to-use web-based interface for configuring sensor monitoring, data collection, and extensive graphical display functions. Full SNMP monitoring functions such as SNMPv1, SNMPv2c, and SNMPv3 encryption are supported.
Furthermore, the AKCP securityProbe 5E alarm server supports Modbus Master/Slave, Modbus RTU, and Modbus over TCP/IP, creating a unique, easily configurable Modbus to SNMP gateway. The web-based interface is written in PHP and allows end users to make modifications such as language translations. The system includes a battery-backed real-time clock for precise logging.
Video Surveillance
The alarm server can display images from up to four surveillance cameras simultaneously in various sizes (up to 640x480 pixel resolution). AKCP surveillance cameras are used for professional security monitoring and integrate with CCTV systems. An integrated pan-tilt controller allows full control of pan-tilt dome cameras using the industry-standard Pelco D-Bus via the 4x PTZ controller ports.
Sensor Integration and Expandability
Up to 8 intelligent AKCP sensors can be directly connected to the AKCP securityProbe 5E via RJ-45 sensor ports. Upon connection, the sensors automatically configure themselves and go “online.” Using E-Sensor8 or E-opto16 expansion modules, up to 500 sensors can be connected to a single device. These modules can be daisy-chained up to 300 meters (1,000 feet) for flexible installations.
The easy-to-use interface numbering allows the securityProbe 5E monitoring system to be set up within minutes.
Data Visualization and Reporting
The AKCP securityProbe 5E integrates all sensor data into its web-based user interface and displays it as graphs. Individual graphs (daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly) for each sensor type can be easily customized using a script template to generate a specific chart. RRDTool is used to create an embedded database of the sensor data.
Intelligent Alarm Filtering
To avoid false alarms, the AKCP securityProbe 5E alarm server allows extensive event filtering. Events can be restricted by time of day or weekday. You can also limit the number of alarms per hour, preventing a flood of messages. This is especially important for sensors like motion detectors, where events should only be processed when premises are closed.
Extensive Alarm Functions and Escalation Management
The AKCP securityProbe 5E monitoring system offers far more than just a network-based measuring device. It not only stores sensor data in the integrated database but also displays it comprehensively on the web interface using the built-in RRDtools, allowing you to create reports on temperature monitoring over hours, weeks, and months.
In case of deviations or critical events such as power failure, heat, fire, or water leakage, the securityProbe 5E monitoring system can alert you in various ways. Available alarm types include email, SMS, MMS, fax, SNMP traps, or phone call (optional 3G/4G modem may be required).
Especially interesting are the scripting functions of the AKCP securityProbe 5E network monitoring device: in catastrophic events such as overheating of server cabinets, UPS operation, or water intrusion, the system can automatically shut down Windows, Linux, and Unix servers in an orderly manner while notifying administrators comprehensively.
Power Supply and Redundancy
The securityProbe 5E can be powered via dual AC or DC inputs, providing redundancy for the power supply. The 40-60VDC external power supplies offer dual DC inputs with a single 9VDC output. This is ideal for telecommunications applications where DC power is supplied directly to cabinets or in data centers with dual PDUs.
Integration into Network Management Systems
The AKCP securityProbe 5E monitoring system is a standalone network-based monitoring solution. No additional software needs to be installed on a PC or server to operate this measuring and monitoring device. It’s ideal for environmental monitoring in heterogeneous operating environments.
The securityProbe 5E is SNMPv1, SNMPv2c, and SNMPv3 (encrypted) compatible and can be configured via SNMP. The open-source Nagios monitoring system is preinstalled on the AKCP securityProbe 5E and can be activated with a click.
The system also offers Ethernet 10/100 Mbps connectivity, USB 2.0 modem port, RS485 Modbus connections, and audio input/output for advanced notification functions.
