Up to Four Intelligent Sensors via a Single IP Address
The AKCP sensorProbe2+ (SP2+) is a compact monitoring device with four intelligent sensor ports that can be combined with the entire AKCP sensor portfolio. This makes it suitable for server rooms, smaller data centers, telecommunications facilities, industrial plants, as well as remote control cabinets and distribution rooms alike. According to the manufacturer, you can start with a simple basic package for a single cabinet and then expand the monitoring cabinet by cabinet into a complete data center solution, with all racks centrally managed via the AKCPro Server.
At the heart of the device is AKCP’s AutoSense technology: connected IP sensors are automatically detected and set up, significantly reducing installation effort and minimizing configuration errors. Two of the four sensor ports are active by default; the remaining two can be unlocked via a one-time Pro license upgrade, allowing the monitoring capacity to be expanded as needs grow without having to purchase new hardware.
The SP2+ is IP-based and supports, in addition to SNMP v1/v2c/v3, HTTPS, VPN, MQTT/MQTTS and BACnet, also RADIUS or TACACS authentication, Rsyslog, NTP and optionally IPv6. Via Modbus TCP and Modbus RS485, the device additionally acts as a gateway between Modbus devices and SNMP.

Status LEDs and Signaling Device
Separate LEDs indicate power supply, network connection as well as sensor status and threshold exceedances, supplemented by an internal buzzer for acoustic alarms.
Four Sensor Ports
Four RJ45 ports automatically detect connected AKCP AutoSense sensors; two of them are active by default depending on the variant, the others are unlocked via Pro license. Configurable output signals (0/5 VDC) are possible on all four sensor ports.
Expansion/Modbus Port (E Variant)
With the E variant, one of the sensor ports can be used as a Modbus RS485 interface or as an expansion port for up to 4 CCU, E-Opto16 or E-Sensor8 units.
Network and Power Connection
A 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port (RJ45, full duplex) establishes the network connection. Power supply is provided either exclusively via Power-over-Ethernet (IEEE 802.3af) on the same cable or via a separate external power supply, depending on the selected variant.
Optional Dual DC Power Supply
Via an optional DC-DC converter (DCW024-5), the SP2+ can also be supplied with two separate 12–24 VDC or 48–60 VDC inputs, which the converter converts to a single 5 VDC output voltage for the device – practical at telecom sites with direct DC feed or data centers with two separate PDUs.
Two Power Supply Variants
The SP2+ is ordered as one of two variants: either as a PoE variant or with an external power supply – both options are mutually exclusive at the time of purchase.
- PoE variant: Power supply exclusively via the network cable (IEEE 802.3af), no power supply included in the scope of delivery
- Power supply variant: Power supply via an external 5.5V/3A power supply (input 100–240 V AC)
- For the power supply variant, an optional DC-DC converter (DCW024-5) with two separate 12–24 VDC or 48–60 VDC inputs is available, which converts to a single 5 VDC output voltage for the SP2+
- This allows two separate power supplies on two separate circuits (e.g. with dual PDUs) to be combined into a redundant DC power supply – the redundancy here is between two power supplies, not between power supply and PoE

This package is ideal for supplementing your monitoring strategy with simple but crucial on/off signals. What are dry contacts and how do you benefit from them? Dry contacts are simple electrical contacts that report a binary state—open or closed. They do not emit voltage themselves but react to an external change (e.g., a door closing, a relay being triggered) and signal this state to the sensorProbe1+. Typical applications for dry contacts include: Security monitoring: Door contacts, window contacts, motion detectors, alarm status of intrusion detection systems. Environmental monitoring: Leak sensors (water, liquids), smoke detectors, fire suppression systems. Device status: UPS status (battery operation, mains failure), status of circuit breakers, fan failures, emergency stop switches. With the "License for 5 Dry Contacts (5DCS)", you can connect five such external devices or sensors to your sensorProbe1+. The base unit immediately detects changes in the state of these contacts and can trigger correspondingly configured alarms—whether via email, SMS, or SNMP trap. This transforms your sensorProbe1+ into an even more versatile guardian for physical security and operational status. Why choose this license for your sensorProbe1+? The sensorProbe1+ is a cost-effective and compact solution for basic monitoring. By adding the dry contacts license, you significantly expand its range of applications. You can easily integrate existing switches or alarm systems and obtain a central platform that collects both environmental data and important status messages. This is particularly advantageous for small server rooms, remote technical locations, or sensitive areas where both environmental and security aspects need to be monitored. Your benefits at a glance: Versatile status monitoring: Capture a wide range of on/off states. Increased security: Monitor doors, windows, and access points. Enhanced environmental control: Integrate smoke and leak detectors. Easy integration: Use standardized dry contact interfaces. Reliable alerting: Immediate notification of state changes.
