The system is based on an intelligent MCU module as the core component and can be expanded with various additional modules as required. This modular architecture allows users to tailor their monitoring system precisely to their specific requirements.

The basic configuration of the SPX4 includes 4 intelligent sensor ports that can be connected via plug & play with AKCP sensors. These RJ45 ports support the full range of intelligent sensors for professional server room monitoring. Through auto-detection, all connected sensors are automatically recognized by the system and displayed in the clear web interface.

Comprehensive Sensor Integration for All Monitoring Needs

The AKCP sensor system of the SPX4 supports an impressive variety of monitoring parameters. For temperature monitoring, various sensors are available, including specialized thermocouple sensors for extreme temperature ranges in refrigeration systems or industrial applications. Humidity monitoring is ensured by precise sensors, also available in waterproof versions.

Particularly noteworthy are the airflow sensors, which are essential for monitoring critical air supply in server rooms. Smoke sensors provide early warnings of smoldering fires or fire, while specialized sensors for monitoring DC and AC keep an eye on the electrical infrastructure.

Water detection is provided by highly sensitive sensors and water detection cables, which can also be used under raised floors. Optional localization of the water entry point is possible. For special applications, detection cables for gasoline, diesel, or kerosene are available.

Advanced Security Features

The security monitoring of the SPX4 includes PIR motion detectors for detecting unauthorized persons in the server room. Magnetic and door contacts reliably secure windows, doors, and roller shutters. Glass break and vibration detectors add additional layers of protection. Ultrasonic sensors enable precise level monitoring of diesel tanks for emergency generators.

Professional Alerting and Integration

The SNMP integration of the SPX4 enables seamless integration into existing network monitoring software such as HP OpenView, IBM Tivoli, Nagios, check_MK, openITCOCKPIT, PRTG, or WhatsUp Gold. The required MIB files and a special Nagios plugin are already included.

In case of threshold violations, alerts are sent via various channels: email notifications, SMS dispatch via optional GSM modules, or SNMP traps to central monitoring systems. This multi-channel alerting strategy ensures that critical events are never overlooked.

For central management of multiple SPX4 systems, AKCess Pro offers the AKCess Pro Server DCIM management software. This all-in-one solution combines environment monitoring, video monitoring, and access control in a unified platform.

The integration enables central monitoring of decentralized infrastructures and provides integrated escalation management for critical events such as heat, fire, climate failure, power outage, or unauthorized access. All events are stored in the database with time and date stamps.

SmartRack Solutions for Server Rack Monitoring

The SPX4 can be equipped with the latest smartRack solutions from AKCess Pro. Thermal map sensors enable thermal monitoring of 19-inch racks by precisely measuring supply and exhaust air. This allows hot spots to be detected early and mission-critical IT systems to be protected from overheating.

For physical protection, RFID-based swing handle locks provide controlled access to sensitive server racks. In combination with magnetic contacts on side and rear panels, comprehensive protection against unauthorized access is ensured.

Network Protocols and Security

The SPX4 supports modern network protocols including SNMP V1/2/3, MQTT/MQTTS, HTTPS, and encrypted email communication. IPv6 support and VPN connections ensure future-proof network integration.

For user authentication, RADIUS and TACACS are available, allowing the SPX4 to be seamlessly integrated into existing IT security concepts. Support for up to 500 users in the access control system makes the system suitable even for larger organizations.
