Connections & Controls
All ports, buttons, and LEDs on the front, rear, and side panel of the 50T at a glance.
All sensor and network connections are deliberately distributed across three sides of the housing: the front houses the connections for daily operation – USB, the four analog sensor ports A1–A4, the SD card slot, and the status LEDs. The rear holds the network, relay, and power supply connections. The "N/R" toggle switch on the side is intended exclusively for system recovery via SD card and should always be set to "N" during normal operation.

Status LEDs (R1/R2, ACT, ALARM, ERR, CAN)
R1/R2 indicate the status of the two 12V outputs. ACT (green) shows the system status, ERR (red) indicates errors or an update in progress, ALARM is freely programmable, and CAN (green) shows the bus status – slow blinking: nothing connected, fast blinking: configuration in progress, solid light: devices connected.

Restart button
Hold for 2 seconds to restart the device.
Reset button (factory settings)
Hold for longer than 5 seconds – the ERR LED starts blinking, and after 20–60 seconds the device is reset and accessible again.
LAN port
10/100 Base-T Ethernet with two status LEDs: orange indicates network traffic, green indicates connection status (solid = connected, blinking = establishing connection).
CAN
Digital RJ12 6P4C connector for CAN sensors, expansions, and devices, daisy-chainable, with its own status LED.

The system offers various alerting methods: email notifications, SMS, SNMP traps for network management systems, syslog messages, and push notifications via the mobile app. External sirens or beacons can also be connected. Alarm rules are individually configurable with various thresholds and escalation levels.
Can the system be integrated into existing IT infrastructures?
Yes. The system supports SNMP v1/v2c/v3, can be integrated into common monitoring platforms such as Nagios, PRTG, or Zabbix, and has a REST API for custom integrations. It connects via Ethernet and can be managed both through the web interface and via network management tools.
How do you connect and commission the system for the first time?
Connect the device to your network via Ethernet and plug in the 12V DC power supply. The system starts automatically and can be accessed via a web browser at the default IP address 192.168.0.193 (or .101 or .62). The setup wizard guides you through basic configuration (network settings, admin password, time zone). Sensors are automatically detected as soon as they are connected to the RJ12 sensor ports. The "Didactum Manager" helps with advanced configuration and setting up alarm rules.
What power supply does the system require, and how reliable is it?
The Monitoring System 50T is powered by an external 12V DC power supply. All events are permanently logged, and a built-in watchdog ensures automatic restarts in the event of system errors. Redundant network connections can also be configured.
