The Ethernet-based Didactum Monitoring System 100, including a combination temperature and humidity sensor, is a web-enabled thermo-hygrometer. This system operates independently, with no need for additional hardware or software. The critical environmental parameters—temperature and humidity—are measured in real time and stored in the built-in temperature data logger. These stored values ensure precise temperature documentation and offer a reliable foundation for compliance with legal documentation requirements in sensitive areas such as laboratories, storage rooms, or data centers. Historical data can also be exported and analyzed to identify trends in ambient conditions and take preventive measures early.
Access to the web thermometer/hygrometer is easily done via web browser from a smartphone, tablet, PC, or notebook. This allows for convenient remote temperature monitoring, which is essential in IT infrastructure and industrial applications. Users can monitor environmental data worldwide and respond quickly if needed. The alarm functions are fully customizable, enabling immediate notifications in the event of critical deviations.
In case of temperature and/or humidity (RH) thresholds being exceeded or undercut, the monitoring system supports essential alarm functions such as email and SMS* (*via optional LTE modem or email-to-SMS service) as well as syslog. This allows for prompt response to critical changes. The system is also ideal for cold chain monitoring, where constant temperature compliance is mandatory. In clean rooms, laboratories, or pharmacies, it provides reliable surveillance of temperature and humidity-sensitive environments.
The web thermo-hygrometer also calculates the dew point automatically, enabling early detection and alerting of critical surface moisture. This feature is essential for damage prevention in museums, archives, or sensitive production areas. All sensor values are clearly displayed on the web interface, including graphical representation for quick assessment.

This innovative web thermometer & hygrometer is fully SNMP compatible, allowing important alerts and messages regarding temperature and humidity monitoring to be sent as SNMP traps. In addition to SNMP v1 and v2c protocols, the encrypted SNMP v3 protocol is also supported. Compatibility with network monitoring systems such as Nagios, Icinga 2, or Zabbix ensures seamless integration into existing systems. Templates and MIB files are available for free, making IoT-based temperature monitoring particularly efficient. This enables organizations to reliably monitor critical environmental conditions even within complex network structures.
Expansion of Physical Environmental Monitoring
Up to 7 additional combination sensors for temperature and humidity can be connected to the web-based thermo-hygrometer via the advanced Monitoring System 100T. The maximum length of the sensor chain can reach up to 225 meters, allowing flexible placement in larger environments. This is ideal for companies needing to monitor multiple rooms or expansive infrastructures, such as data centers, warehouses, or manufacturing facilities.
Additionally, the main unit offers 4 RJ11 auto-sensing ports for analog Didactum sensors. If desired, further essential sensors such as smoke detectors or water leak sensors can be connected to extend physical room monitoring. Combined with the sensor expansion box featuring 8 additional sensor ports, other critical areas like storage halls, technical rooms, or archives can also be reliably monitored. This creates a comprehensive temperature and security monitoring solution tailored to your specific infrastructure.
Added Value of the Web Thermometer / Hygrometer
This web-based measuring and monitoring device includes 4 dry contact inputs. For example, you can connect the alarm contact of your air conditioning unit and receive immediate alerts via email, SMS*, or SNMP trap in the event of faults or failures. The two 12V relay outputs allow for the connection of sirens or strobe lights, or for forwarding fault messages to a central building management system (BMS). The inputs and outputs are conveniently configured via the German-language web interface. This enables user-defined responses to temperature alarms or humidity deviations—a key advantage for automation in industrial or building management environments.
