Room Monitoring System 50T: Access, Motion and Climate in View – with Alarm Notification and Video Verification
This Didactum bundle combines the compact Monitoring System 50T with a CAN combo sensor for temperature and humidity, a door contact sensor, a microwave motion detector, an alarm siren with flashing light, and a USB dome camera to create a complete room monitoring solution. This makes it possible to reliably detect unauthorized access and movement in monitored areas, trigger immediate on-site alarms, and additionally confirm events visually by camera – ideal for server rooms, warehouses, archives, and sensitive business areas.
The Monitoring System 50T serves as the compact desktop control unit at the heart of the bundle: it connects to the network via Ethernet, is fully configurable through the web browser, and requires no additional software. The door contact sensor and microwave motion detector are connected to the analog ports and automatically detected thanks to AutoSense, the combo sensor for temperature and humidity is integrated via the CAN bus port, the alarm siren with flashing light is connected to a relay output, and the USB dome camera is connected directly to the 50T using the included OTG USB-C cable.
As your requirements grow, this bundle grows with you: additional sensors, motion detectors, or alarm devices can be added at any time via the remaining analog ports, the second relay output, and further devices on the CAN bus – without replacing the central unit.
This Bundle Includes:
Six coordinated Didactum products that together form a complete room monitoring system with access control, motion detection, alarm notification, and video verification.

Didactum Monitoring System 50T
The Didactum Monitoring System 50T is the central control unit of the bundle and a compact, cost-effective monitoring solution for server rooms, IT racks, and technical installations. As a stand-alone desktop unit, it continuously records all connected sensors and reports anomalies in real time, long before they turn into an expensive outage or unnoticed access issue. With 4 analog ports, one CAN bus port, 2 potential-free inputs, and 2 relay outputs (12V / 0.25A), the 50T can also be used as an I/O controller for sirens, fans, or lighting. A USB interface (via OTG USB-C) also allows direct connection of a camera. The system is equipped with Ethernet (100 Mbit/s) and can be seamlessly integrated into monitoring environments such as Zabbix, PRTG, or Nagios thanks to SNMP, Modbus TCP/IP, and Syslog.
Combo Sensor Temperature and Humidity (CAN)
The Didactum combo sensor records temperature and relative humidity in a single device and is connected via the 50T CAN bus port. This keeps all four analog ports of the 50T free for additional sensor technology, while climate values are still centrally recorded in the web interface and can be assigned individual threshold values (Lower Critical, Lower Warning, Normal, Upper Warning, Upper Critical). Further CAN devices can be added in series on the CAN bus if needed.
Door Contact Sensor
The Didactum door contact sensor monitors the open or closed status of doors, windows, and server cabinets. It consists of a magnet and a sensor unit and is connected to a free analog port of the 50T. Multiple door contact sensors can be connected in series (up to 10 units, max. 150 m total length), allowing multiple access points to be monitored centrally. In the event of unauthorized access, the 50T can automatically trigger the alarm siren and additionally use a camera image from the USB dome camera for confirmation.
Microwave Motion Detector
The Didactum microwave motion detector reliably detects movement in the monitored room using microwave technology that also works dependably under unfavorable lighting conditions. The sensor is connected to a free analog port of the 50T and is automatically detected. If the motion detector registers movement outside business hours, the 50T can automatically activate the alarm siren and use a camera image from the USB dome camera for verification.
Alarm Siren with Flashing Light
The Didactum alarm siren with flashing light provides immediate acoustic and visual warning directly at the point of use. It is connected via the included connection cable to one of the 12V DC relay outputs (0.25A) of the 50T and can be flexibly linked with any sensor in the bundle: if the door contact sensor reports unauthorized access or the motion detector registers movement outside business hours, the 50T automatically activates the siren – with a loud acoustic alarm (108 dB) and red flashing light (2.5 Hz).
Note: The alarm siren is connected to a relay output, not to an analog sensor port. This keeps additional analog ports and the second relay output free for further sensors and alarm devices.
USB Dome Camera
The USB dome camera is connected directly to the 50T via the included OTG USB-C cable and provides visual confirmation of an alarm event. If the door contact sensor or motion detector triggers an alarm, the current camera image can be accessed immediately in the web interface to assess the situation on site before further measures are taken – without separate video surveillance software or additional wiring.
Comprehensive Sensor Integration for the Bundle
The Monitoring System 50T supports up to 100 sensors, contacts, and relays simultaneously – 4 analog ports and 2 relay outputs are available directly on the device, and the system can be expanded with further devices via the CAN bus and USB interface. In the bundle, 2 of the 4 analog ports are already occupied by the door contact and motion detector, and 1 of the 2 relay outputs is used by the alarm siren. The combo sensor runs via the CAN bus, and the camera via the USB interface. The remaining 2 analog ports and the second relay output are still available for additional sensors and alarm devices.
Access
Already included in the bundle: detection of unauthorized access via the door contact sensor.
Motion
Already included in the bundle: detection of movement in the room via the microwave motion detector.
On-Site Alarm
Already included in the bundle: immediate acoustic and visual warning through the siren.
Video Verification
Already included in the bundle: camera image for verification of an alarm event.
Thanks to the two remaining analog ports, the second relay output, and additional CAN bus capacity, the bundle can be expanded at any time with extra sensors, additional motion detectors, or alarm devices.
Real-Time Monitoring and Automated Alarm Notification
The Monitoring System 50T reacts immediately to every status change of the connected sensors. If a door is opened or movement is detected outside business hours, the system automatically sends email notifications, SMS, or SNMP traps and additionally activates the connected alarm siren with flashing light, so people on site are warned immediately. The USB dome camera can also be used to visually verify the event. Integration into monitoring software such as Zabbix, PRTG, or Nagios is easily possible thanks to common network protocols (HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, FTP, SNMP, Syslog, DHCP).
Practical Example: The microwave motion detector reports movement in the monitored room outside business hours. The 50T immediately triggers the alarm siren with flashing light, simultaneously sends an SMS to the responsible employee, and provides the current camera image from the USB dome camera in the web interface – allowing the situation to be assessed and documented immediately.
Web-Based Control & Intelligent Automation
The intuitive web interface allows easy management of all sensors as well as alarms and scenarios – right from the moment the bundle is put into operation.
- Door opening detected → trigger alarm siren, send SMS to administrator
- Movement detected (outside business hours) → trigger alarm siren, provide camera image
- Temperature or humidity outside threshold values → email notification
- Door contact open AND movement detected → switch relay, send SNMP trap
- Sensor value normalizes → automatic alarm acknowledgement, deactivate siren
The Monitoring System 50T can also be used as an I/O controller for additional alarm devices, fans, or lighting – ideal for compact room monitoring solutions without constant staff presence.

Scalable, Reliable, and Future-Proof
The Monitoring System 50T in the bundle is equipped with 100 Mbit/s Ethernet. The system supports up to 700 elements (sensors, contacts, triggers, timers, logic diagrams, notifications). Two of the 4 analog ports and one of the 2 relay outputs of the central unit are already occupied in the bundle; the remaining 2 analog ports and the second relay output remain completely free. The combo sensor uses one CAN bus slot, and further CAN devices can be added if needed. Regular firmware updates ensure long-term use. Made in EU – German support included.
Connect CAN Devices
The Monitoring System 50T has one CAN bus port, which in this bundle is already used by the combo sensor for temperature and humidity. Up to 10 additional CAN devices can be connected in a chain to this port – for example additional sensor expansion units (8 analog ports per unit) or dry-contact expansions for potential-free contacts. With daisy chaining, a total cable length of up to 320 m can be achieved, allowing larger environments to be monitored centrally. An additional CAN power supply (12V/1A) is only required if the number of CAN devices in the chain exceeds 12 units.
