Bundle Alarm: Compact monitoring with immediate audible and visual alarm notification
This Didactum bundle combines the compact Monitoring System 50T with a temperature sensor, a door contact sensor, and an alarm siren with flashing light to create an immediately ready-to-use monitoring solution with direct on-site alarm notification. This detects both overheating and unauthorized access and signals them immediately in an emergency both audibly and visually — ideal for server rooms, technical cabinets, and smaller utility rooms without constant on-site personnel.
As a compact desktop control unit, the Monitoring System 50T forms the foundation of the bundle: it is connected to the network via Ethernet, can be configured entirely through the web browser, and requires no additional software. The temperature and door contact sensor are connected directly to the analog ports and are automatically detected thanks to AutoSense, while the alarm siren with flashing light is connected to one of the 50T relay outputs and warns immediately on site when an alarm event occurs.
As your requirements grow, this bundle grows with them: additional sensors can be added at any time via the remaining analog ports and the CAN bus of the 50T — without replacing the central unit.
This bundle includes:
Four coordinated Didactum products that together form a compact monitoring and alarm solution with direct on-site warning.
Didactum 50T
The compact monitoring and alarm unit that collects, evaluates, and automatically alarms on all sensors.
Temperature sensor
Precise temperature monitoring for early detection of overheating.
Door contact sensor
Monitors the opening and closing status of doors, windows, and server cabinets.
Alarm siren with flashing light
Combined audible and visual alarm directly on site in the event of an emergency.
Didactum Monitoring System 50T
The Didactum Monitoring System 50T is the central control unit of the bundle and a compact, cost-efficient monitoring solution for server rooms, IT racks, and technical systems. As a standalone desktop unit, it continuously records all connected sensors and reports anomalies in real time, long before they become an expensive failure or an unnoticed intrusion. With 4 analog ports, one CAN bus port, 2 potential-free inputs, and 2 relay outputs (12V / 0.25A), the 50T can also be used as an I/O controller for sirens, fans, or lighting. The system is equipped with Ethernet (100 Mbit/s) and can be seamlessly integrated into monitoring environments such as Zabbix, PRTG, or Nagios thanks to SNMP, Modbus TCP/IP, and Syslog.
Temperature sensor
The Didactum temperature sensor is used for precise temperature monitoring and measurement in the technical cabinet or server room. The sensor is connected to an analog port of the 50T via an RJ11 plug and is automatically detected. It can then be freely named in the web interface and assigned custom threshold values (Lower Critical, Lower Warning, Normal, Upper Warning, Upper Critical), so that an alarm is automatically triggered when a critical temperature is reached.
Door contact sensor
The Didactum door contact sensor monitors the opening or closing status of doors, windows, and server cabinets. It consists of a magnet and a sensor unit and is connected to a free analog port of the 50T. Multiple door contact sensors can be connected in series (up to 10 units, max. 150 m total length), allowing several access points to be monitored centrally. In the event of unauthorized access, the 50T can automatically trigger the alarm siren with flashing light and additionally send notifications.
Alarm siren with flashing light
The Didactum alarm siren with flashing light provides immediate audible and visual warning directly at the location of use. It is connected via the included connection cable to one of the 12V DC relay outputs (0.25A) of the 50T and can be flexibly linked with any sensor in the bundle: if the temperature sensor reports critical overheating or the door contact sensor reports unauthorized access, the 50T automatically activates the siren — with a loud audible alarm (108 dB) and red flashing light (2.5 Hz).
Note: The alarm siren is not connected to an analog sensor port, but to one of the relay outputs of the 50T. This keeps both analog ports available for the temperature and door contact sensor.
Comprehensive sensor integration for the bundle
The Monitoring System 50T supports up to 100 sensors, contacts, and relays simultaneously — 4 analog ports and 2 relay outputs are available directly on the device, and this number can be expanded via the CAN bus. In the bundle, 2 of the 4 analog ports are already occupied by the temperature and door contact sensor, and 1 of the 2 relay outputs is used by the alarm siren. The remaining 2 analog ports and the second relay output remain available for additional sensors and alarm devices.
Temperature
Already included in the bundle: protection against overheating in racks and server rooms.

2 analog ports free
Room for additional sensors such as water, smoke, or humidity sensors.
Thanks to the two remaining analog ports, the second relay output, and the CAN bus port, the bundle can be expanded at any time with additional sensors or alarm devices.
Real-time monitoring and automated alarm notification
The Monitoring System 50T reacts immediately to any change in the status of the connected sensors. If a threshold is exceeded, the system automatically sends email notifications, SMS, or SNMP traps and additionally activates the connected alarm siren with flashing light, so that on-site personnel are warned immediately — even outside business hours or without constant monitoring of the web interface. Integration into monitoring software such as Zabbix, PRTG, or Nagios is easily possible thanks to common network protocols (HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, FTP, SNMP, Syslog, DHCP).
Practical example: Outside business hours, the door contact sensor reports a door opening at the server cabinet. The 50T immediately triggers the alarm siren with flashing light, simultaneously sends an SMS to the responsible technician, and logs the event with a timestamp — so unauthorized access is noticed and documented immediately.
Web-based control & intelligent automation
The intuitive web interface allows easy management of all sensors as well as alarms and scenarios — directly from the moment the bundle is put into operation.
- Door opening detected → trigger alarm siren, send SMS to administrator
- Temperature > 30 °C → trigger alarm siren, email notification
- Temperature > 28 °C AND door contact open → switch relay, send SNMP trap
- Sensor value returns to normal → automatic alarm acknowledgement, deactivate siren
The Monitoring System 50T can also be used as an I/O controller for additional alarm devices, fans, or lighting — ideal for compact monitoring solutions without constant on-site personnel.
Full control
Manage temperature, access, and alarm siren together, turn them into actionable alarms, and configure integrations — all through an intuitive web-based interface.
- Monitor real-time status of temperature and door contact together
- Control the alarm siren manually or automatically via alarm rules
- Create automated actions based on defined conditions
- Send email, Telegram, HTTP request, SNMP, or other notifications
- Visualize trends and logs for better decisions

Scalable, reliable, and future-proof
The Monitoring System 50T in the bundle is equipped with 100 Mbit/s Ethernet. The system supports up to 700 elements (sensors, contacts, triggers, timers, logic schemes, notifications). Two of the 4 analog ports and one of the 2 relay outputs of the central unit are already occupied in the bundle, while the remaining 2 analog ports, the second relay output, and the CAN bus port remain fully available. Using CAN expansion units and daisy chaining, the number of sensors can be expanded to over 256 if needed. Regular firmware updates ensure long-term use. Made in the EU — German support included.
Connect CAN devices
The Monitoring System 50T has a CAN bus port that allows up to 10 additional CAN devices to be connected in a chain — for example additional sensor expansion units (8 analog ports per unit) or dry-contact expansion units for potential-free contacts. With daisy chaining, a total cable length of up to 320 m can be achieved, so that even larger environments can be monitored centrally. An additional CAN power supply (12V/1A) is only required when the number of CAN devices in the chain exceeds 12 units.

What is included in this bundle?
The bundle contains the Didactum Monitoring System 50T as the central monitoring and alarm unit, a temperature sensor, a door contact sensor, and an alarm siren with flashing light. Together, they form a compact monitoring solution with immediate audible and visual on-site alarm notification.
How is the alarm siren connected?
The alarm siren with flashing light is connected via the included connection cable to one of the two 12V DC relay outputs (0.25A) of the 50T — not to an analog sensor port. This keeps both analog ports available for the temperature and door contact sensor.
Can the siren be linked with multiple sensors?
Yes. In the web interface, the alarm siren can be linked to any alarm rules — for example at critical temperature, when a door is opened, or with combinations of multiple conditions. This automatically activates the siren as soon as a defined threshold is exceeded.
How are the temperature and door contact sensors installed?
Both sensors are connected via RJ11/RJ12 cable to a free analog port of the 50T. Thanks to AutoSense, they are automatically detected and can then be named in the web interface and configured with individual threshold values.
Can I expand the bundle with additional sensors?
Yes. Since the bundle uses only 2 of the 4 analog ports and 1 of the 2 relay outputs of the 50T, 2 additional analog ports and one extra relay output are available for more sensors or alarm devices. Additional CAN devices or expansion units can also be connected via the CAN bus port.
Can the bundle be integrated into existing IT infrastructures?
Yes, the Didactum Monitoring System 50T is specifically designed for integration into professional IT environments. It supports SNMP v1/v2c/v3 and Modbus TCP/IP, can be integrated into common monitoring platforms such as Nagios, PRTG, or Zabbix, and includes a REST API for custom integrations.
