Bundle Water: Compact Monitoring of Climate and Water Ingress
This Didactum bundle combines the compact Monitoring System 50T with a temperature sensor, a humidity sensor, and a water sensor to create an immediately usable monitoring solution for climate conditions and water ingress. This reliably detects both overheating and excessively high humidity as well as water leaks and automatically reports them in an emergency – ideal for server rooms, equipment cabinets, storage rooms, and areas with water pipes or air conditioning systems.
As a compact desktop control unit, the Monitoring System 50T forms the foundation of the bundle: it is connected to the network via Ethernet, is fully configurable through the web browser, and requires no additional software. Temperature, humidity, and water sensors are connected directly to the analog ports and are automatically detected thanks to AutoSense, so all three sensors are immediately available in the web interface after connection.
As your needs grow, this bundle grows with them: via the remaining analog port, both relay outputs, and the CAN bus of the 50T, additional sensors or alarm devices can be added at any time – without replacing the central unit.
This bundle includes:
Four coordinated Didactum products that together form a compact solution for monitoring climate and water ingress.
Didactum 50T
The compact monitoring and alerting unit that collects and evaluates all sensors and automatically triggers alarms.
Temperature Sensor
Precise temperature monitoring for early detection of overheating.
Humidity Sensor
Monitors relative humidity to prevent condensation and moisture damage.
Water Sensor
Detects escaping liquid or water leaks on the floor reliably and at an early stage.
Didactum Monitoring System 50T
The Didactum Monitoring System 50T is the central control unit of the bundle and a compact, cost-efficient monitoring solution for server rooms, IT racks, and technical systems. As a standalone desktop unit, it continuously records all connected sensors and reports anomalies in real time, long before they become a costly outage or an unnoticed water damage problem. With 4 analog ports, one CAN bus port, as well as 2 dry-contact inputs and 2 relay outputs (12V / 0.25A), the 50T can also be used as an I/O controller for sirens, pumps, or fans. The system is equipped with Ethernet (100 Mbit/s) and can be seamlessly integrated into monitoring environments such as Zabbix, PRTG, or Nagios thanks to SNMP, Modbus TCP/IP, and Syslog.
Temperature Sensor
The Didactum temperature sensor is used for precise temperature monitoring and temperature measurement in the equipment cabinet or server room. The sensor is connected via RJ11 plug to an analog port of the 50T and is automatically detected. It can then be freely named in the web interface and assigned custom threshold values (Lower Critical, Lower Warning, Normal, Upper Warning, Upper Critical), so that an alarm is automatically triggered in the event of critical temperature.
Humidity Sensor
The Didactum humidity sensor measures the relative humidity in the server room, equipment cabinet, or storage area and provides early warning of condensation risks, mold growth, or climate-related damage to equipment. The sensor is connected via RJ11 plug to a free analog port of the 50T and is automatically detected. As with the temperature sensor, individual threshold values can be defined in the web interface, and the 50T automatically alarms when these are exceeded or undershot.
Water Sensor
The Didactum water sensor detects escaping liquid directly on the floor – for example from a leak in the air conditioning system, a burst pipe, or leaking cooling water – and reports it immediately to the 50T. The sensor is connected via RJ11 plug to a free analog port of the 50T and is automatically detected. As soon as moisture is detected at the sensor contacts, the 50T immediately triggers an alarm so that larger water damage can be prevented at an early stage.
Note: The water sensor, like the temperature and humidity sensors, is connected to an analog port. In the bundle, 3 of the 4 analog ports of the 50T are thus occupied, while one analog port and both relay outputs remain free.
Comprehensive Sensor Integration for the Bundle
The Monitoring System 50T supports up to 100 sensors, contacts, and relays simultaneously – 4 analog ports and 2 relay outputs are available directly on the device, and the number can be expanded via the CAN bus. In the bundle, 3 of the 4 analog ports are already occupied by the temperature, humidity, and water sensors. The remaining analog port and both relay outputs remain free for additional sensors and alarm devices.
Temperature
Already included in the bundle: protection against overheating in racks and server rooms.
Humidity
Already included in the bundle: detection of condensation risks and poor room climate.
Water Ingress
Already included in the bundle: early detection of leaks and water damage on the floor.
1 Analog Port Free
Space for additional sensors such as door contact, smoke, or vibration sensors.
Thanks to the remaining analog port, both relay outputs, and the CAN bus port, the bundle can be expanded at any time with additional sensors or extra alarm devices such as a siren with flashing light.
Real-Time Monitoring and Automated Alerting
The Monitoring System 50T responds immediately to any state change of the connected sensors. In the event of a threshold breach – for example at critical temperature, excessively high humidity, or detected water – the system automatically sends email notifications, SMS, or SNMP traps, even outside business hours or without constant monitoring of the web interface. Integration into monitoring software such as Zabbix, PRTG, or Nagios is easily possible thanks to common network protocols (HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, FTP, SNMP, Syslog, DHCP).
Practical example: Outside business hours, the water sensor reports escaping liquid under the air conditioner in the server room. The 50T immediately sends an SMS to the responsible technician, logs the event with a timestamp, and can optionally trigger a connected alarm device – so water damage is noticed and documented right away before greater damage occurs.
Web-Based Control & Intelligent Automation
The intuitive web interface allows easy management of all sensors as well as alarms and scenarios – right from the moment the bundle is put into operation.
- Water detected → send SMS to administrator, switch relay
- Temperature > 30 °C → send email notification, send SNMP trap
- Humidity > 70 % RH → notify the facility team
- Sensor value returns to normal → automatic alarm acknowledgment
The Monitoring System 50T can also be used as an I/O controller for pumps, fans, lighting, or other alarm devices – ideal for compact monitoring solutions without constant on-site personnel.

Scalable, Reliable, and Future-Proof
The Monitoring System 50T in the bundle is equipped with 100 Mbit/s Ethernet. The system supports up to 700 elements (sensors, contacts, triggers, timers, logic schemes, notifications). Three of the 4 analog ports of the central unit are already occupied in the bundle, while the remaining analog port, both relay outputs, and the CAN bus port remain completely free. Through CAN expansion units and daisy chaining, the number of sensors can be expanded to more than 256 if needed. Regular firmware updates ensure long-term usability. Made in EU – German support included.
Connect CAN Devices
The Monitoring System 50T has a CAN bus port to which up to 10 additional CAN devices can be connected in a chain – for example additional sensor expansion units (8 analog ports per unit) or dry-contact expansions for dry contacts. With daisy chaining, a total cable length of up to 320 m can be achieved, allowing larger environments to be monitored centrally as well. An additional CAN power supply (12V/1A) is only required if the number of CAN devices in the chain exceeds 12 units.

What is included in this bundle?
The bundle includes the Didactum Monitoring System 50T as the central monitoring unit, a temperature sensor, a humidity sensor, and a water sensor. Together, they form a compact solution for monitoring climate and water ingress.
How is the water sensor connected?
The water sensor, like the temperature and humidity sensors, is connected via RJ11 cable to a free analog port of the 50T and is automatically detected thanks to AutoSense. As soon as moisture is detected at the sensor contacts, the 50T triggers an alarm.
How are the temperature and humidity sensors installed?
Both sensors are connected via RJ11 cable to a free analog port of the 50T. Thanks to AutoSense, they are automatically detected and can then be named in the web interface and configured with individual threshold values.
Can I expand the bundle with additional sensors?
Yes. Since the bundle uses only 3 of the 4 analog ports of the 50T, one additional analog port remains available for extra sensors. Both relay outputs are also free and can be used, for example, for an alarm siren with flashing light or a pump. Additional CAN devices or expansion units can also be connected via the CAN bus port.
Can the bundle be integrated into existing IT infrastructures?
Yes, the Didactum Monitoring System 50T is specifically designed for integration into professional IT environments. It supports SNMP v1/v2c/v3 and Modbus TCP/IP, can be integrated into common monitoring platforms such as Nagios, PRTG, or Zabbix, and offers a REST API for custom integrations.
How reliably does the water sensor detect a leak?
The water sensor registers even small amounts of liquid at its sensor contacts and reports this immediately to the 50T. This makes it possible to detect leaks in air conditioners, pipelines, or cooling systems before greater damage occurs.
