Water in a server room, data center, or technical room is a risk factor that can cause serious damage—from IT outages to costly repairs. The 1W-UNI 3m Water Sensor from HW group is a specially developed sensor for pinpoint detection of water or other conductive liquids. It provides reliable monitoring of critical zones and is thus an indispensable element for safety and monitoring systems in sensitive technical areas.
Precise Detection of Conductive Liquids
At the core of its function is the capability for 1D water detection: The sensor detects liquids via four small metal contacts on its underside. This allows it to detect water precisely at the spot where it comes into contact with the sensor. Only when all four contacts are completely covered with water does the sensor trigger an alarm. This prevents false alarms caused by humidity or brief contact with liquid.
3 Meter Connection Cable for Flexible Installation
The 1W-UNI water sensor is equipped with a 3 m RJ11 cable, which connects it directly to the 1-Wire UNI port of compatible HW group devices—such as Poseidon2, Ares, or STE2. Thanks to this cable length, the sensor can be installed exactly where the risk of water leaks is greatest—whether under a server cabinet, near a wall, or in hard-to-reach corners—without much effort.
