Point-Accurate Water Detector with 1-Wire-UNI Interface
The HW group Flood detector 1W-UNI 3m is a water flood sensor based on the point principle (spot detector) with 1-Wire-UNI interface. Water detection is performed via four protruding contact pins on the sensor housing. The permanently attached 3 m cable can be connected directly to an RJ11 port of an Ares or Poseidon2 monitoring device.
The sensor can lie loosely on the floor (on an electrically insulating surface) or be fixed to the floor or a wall. It is designed for water leak monitoring and detects water as well as other electrically conductive liquids.
Simple Point Sensor without External Power Supply
The Flood detector 1W-UNI 3m reports water at a specific location and is powered directly via the 1-Wire-UNI bus.

The housing measures 36 x 50 x 22 mm, weighs 80 g and complies with protection class IP67.
Sensor Housing with Contact Pins
Four contact pins protruding from the housing detect water or other conductive liquids as soon as they are wetted. The housing has a mounting hole (Ø 4 mm) for wall fixing with a screw.
Connection Cable and RJ11 Plug
A permanently attached 3 m cable ends in an RJ11 plug for the 1-Wire-UNI bus.
Power Supply
The sensor is powered directly via the 1-Wire-UNI (RJ11) bus. One active port (RJ11 connection of a Poseidon or Ares device) can supply a maximum of 2 Flood detector 1W-UNI 3m sensors. For more sensors on one port, the power-boosted “1-Wire hub Power” is available.
Bus and Maximum Distance
The maximum cable length is 60 m from the active port of the Poseidon or Ares device. The sensor status is polled every 1–3 seconds on the 1W-UNI bus and delivers one of two states: 0 = OK, 1 = Flood.
Mounting
The sensor can lie loosely on the floor (on an electrically insulating surface), be fixed to the floor or be screwed to a wall via the mounting hole.
Operating Conditions
The sensor operates in the range from -25 °C to +85 °C at 5 to 90 % relative humidity.

Monitoring via GSM/GPRS; the sensors are also powered from the internal battery of the Ares device in the event of a power failure.

Monitoring via LAN or GSM
Connected to a Poseidon2 or Ares device, the Flood detector can be centrally monitored and alarmed together with other sensors.
Via LAN (Poseidon2)
The Flood detector is connected together with other sensors (e.g. temperature/humidity, door contact) to a Poseidon2 device. Alarming via e-mail/SMS, SNMP trap, Modbus/TCP, web interface or the SensDesk.com online portal.
Via GSM (Ares)
Via a T-Box hub for 5 RJ11 sensors, multiple sensors can be connected to an Ares 12 device. The sensors are also powered from the internal Ares battery in the event of a power failure. Alarming via SMS (up to 5 numbers), alarm e-mail, HWg-PDMS software or SensDesk.com online portal.
1D Point Sensor Compared to 2D Sensing Cable System
The Flood detector 1W-UNI 3m detects water at a point on the sensor housing itself (1D detection). For area monitoring along a sensing cable, HW group offers a complementary system.

The Flood detector 1W-UNI 3m is connected directly via the permanently attached cable to a compatible HWg device.
- Determine the mounting location: loosely on the floor, fixed to the floor or screwed to the wall
- Connect the sensor via the RJ11 plug to a free 1-Wire-UNI port of a Poseidon2, Poseidon 2250/4002 or Ares device
- Optional: operate more than 2 sensors on one port via the “1-Wire hub Power”
- Have the sensor automatically detected in the device setup
