The HW group 1WR-Temp Rack19 2p is a temperature sensor specifically developed for use in IT environments – for installation in 19" IT cabinets (racks). It is a simple digital indoor temperature sensor that communicates via 1-Wire and can be daisy-chained with additional sensors.
The sensor is designed for connection to devices such as Poseidon, Ares, HWg-STE and Perseus. The “2p” in the name stands for the two RJ11 ports of the sensor. The 1WR-Temp Rack19 2p is offered as a single version – there are no variants or options for this model.

How the 1WR-Temp Rack19 2p is designed
The flat, black housing (approx. 44 x 84 x 19 mm, approx. 27g) is designed for rack, desk or wall mounting, has protection class IP30 and is suitable for operating temperatures from -10°C to +80°C (0–100% RH) as well as a storage environment of -30°C to 60°C (5–95% RH).

Two RJ11 connectors
The two RJ11 ports on the front side are used for connection to the monitoring device and for continuing the 1-Wire bus to further sensors (daisy-chain).
Integrated measuring element
Inside the housing is a digital semiconductor temperature sensor that directly records the ambient temperature in the rack or room – without an external probe.
Power supply via 1-Wire
The sensor draws its power supply (5V, approx. 1mA) directly via the RJ11 1-Wire connection of the connected device – a separate power source is not required.

Installation in a few steps
The 1WR-Temp Rack19 2p is integrated directly into the existing 1-Wire sensor cabling and requires no separate configuration.
- Mount the sensor in the 19" rack (front or rear), on the wall or on the desk
- Connect the sensor via an RJ11 cable to a 1-Wire port of the monitoring device (e.g. Poseidon, Ares, HWg-STE or Perseus)
- Optional: Connect further 1-Wire sensors in series via the second RJ11 port (daisy-chain)
- The sensor appears automatically in the configuration interface of the connected device
- Name it there if required and set alarm limits for the temperature

Practical example: In a server room, one 1WR-Temp Rack19 2p is mounted at the front and rear in several 19" racks in order to monitor the air temperature at the inlet and outlet. All sensors are daisy-chained together via their two RJ11 ports and connected to a central Poseidon or Perseus device. In this way, a dense temperature monitoring network can be built across multiple racks with minimal cabling effort.
