WLD2 Water Detector with 4 Zones and LAN/WiFi – Precise Area-Based Water Leak Detection
The WLD2 from HW group is a professional water detector specifically designed for use in sensitive and critical environments such as data centers, industrial facilities, archives, museums, or server rooms. Thanks to area-based detection, the device detects conductive liquids such as water, coolant (e.g., ethylene glycol), or condensate not only at individual points, but along the entire cable length. This allows even the smallest leaks to be reliably detected before major damage occurs.
Accurate Leak Detection through 2D Area Monitoring
In contrast to spot sensors, which only detect liquid at a specific location, the WLD2 enables the detection of liquids along the entire length of the connected sensing cable (Type A). Just a few drops are enough to trigger an alarm. At the same time, the system also detects cable faults such as interruptions or deformations, enabling reliable function monitoring.

Monitoring of up to Four Independent Zones
The WLD2 supports the connection of up to four separate sensor zones. Each zone can be operated with its own sensing cable up to 85 meters in length. With extension cables, each zone can be expanded to a total length of up to 185 m. Zone separation allows leaks to be precisely localized and specifically reported.

Flexible Network Connection via LAN or WLAN
The device can be connected to a network either via Ethernet or WiFi (2.4 GHz, IEEE 802.11 b/g/n). An external antenna ensures a stable wireless connection, even in challenging building environments. Power supply can be provided either via Power over Ethernet (PoE according to IEEE 802.3af) or an external 5 V adapter, making installation flexible.

Intelligent Alerting and System Integration
As soon as a leak or cable fault is detected, the WLD2 immediately sends notifications via multiple channels. Alerts are sent via:
- Email notification
- SNMP traps for network monitoring systems
- SensDesk cloud platform with long-term data, graphs, and reports
- SMS or phone call (via external gateways such as HWg-SMS-GW3)
- Box-2-Box mode: Activates relays on connected devices in the network
The WLD2 is fully compatible with SNMP and HTTPS protocols and can be seamlessly integrated into existing monitoring infrastructures.
Robust and Reusable Sensing Cables (Type A)
The special Type A sensing cables detect liquids along their entire length. They are resistant to mechanical stress and can be easily cleaned, dried, and reused after use.
