Robust IP67 Temperature Sensor for Industry, IT and Outdoor Use
The HW group 1WR-Temp IP67 is a temperature sensor with a stainless-steel housing and IP67 protection rating for general use. It measures temperatures in the range of -10 °C to +80 °C and, thanks to its waterproof housing, is suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications. The sensor can be immersed to a depth of up to 1 m and is completely protected against dust.
Connection is made via an RJ11 plug according to the 1-Wire-UNI standard, allowing the sensor to be easily integrated into existing HW group systems, including devices from the Poseidon, Ares, STE and Perseus families. The 1WR-Temp IP67 is available in three cable lengths: 1 m, 3 m and 10 m.

How the 1WR-Temp IP67 Is Built
The sensor has the form of a rod probe (design: Rod), weighs 29 g and is designed for rack or wall mounting.
Probe and Housing
The measuring probe is housed in a stainless-steel enclosure with a diameter of 5.8 mm (max. 6.8 mm) and meets the IP67 protection rating (dust-tight, protected against temporary immersion to a depth of 1 m).
Connection Cable
The cable has a diameter of 4.5 mm and is 1 m, 3 m or 10 m long depending on the variant. It ends in an RJ11 plug.
RJ11 Connection (1-Wire UNI)
Via the RJ11 plug, the sensor is connected as a 1-Wire-UNI sensor to an HWg device (e.g. Poseidon, Ares, STE or Perseus).
Power Supply
The sensor is powered directly via the RJ11 connection (1-Wire) with 5 V and a current consumption of 1 mA. A separate power supply is not required.
Measuring Technology
Temperature is measured using semiconductor technology in the range of -10 °C to +80 °C with an accuracy of ±0.8 °C and a resolution of 0.10 °C. The sensor provides one measured value.
Mounting
The sensor can be mounted in a rack or on the wall; thanks to the weatherproof housing, no additional protective device is required.
Connecting Multiple Sensors
RJ11 temperature sensors can be cabled in different ways; the total cable length should not exceed 60 m per active port.
2 Sensors, 2 Ports
Two separate RJ11 ports, but recognised by the device as 3 different sensor values (3 unique IDs). If a sensor is disconnected, it shows the value -999.9 after approx. 15 seconds, which facilitates identification.
Daisy-Chain (max. 60 m total)
Via sensors with 2 RJ11 ports (e.g. HTemp-1Wire-Box2, Temp-1Wire Rack 19), multiple sensors can be connected in series. A 3 m RJ11 connection cable is usually included with the hubs.
4 Active Ports, 60 m each
Typically one RJ11 sensor per port. After automatic sensor detection in the device setup, sensors must not be swapped between ports without repeating the detection.

When the 1WR-Temp IP67 Is the Right Choice
For certain specialised applications, the manufacturer recommends other sensors from the Temp-1Wire range.
Not for Cryo Applications
For extremely low temperatures, the manufacturer recommends the Pt1000 low-temperature version (Temp-1Wire Pt100 Frost).
For Refrigerators
For monitoring refrigerators, the manufacturer recommends the Temp-1Wire-Flat 3 m with flat cable.
Commissioning in a Few Steps
The 1WR-Temp IP67 is connected as a 1-Wire-UNI sensor to a compatible HWg device.
- Select the appropriate cable length (1 m, 3 m or 10 m) according to the mounting distance
- Mount the sensor at the desired location (rack or wall, indoors or outdoors)
- Connect the sensor via the RJ11 plug to a Poseidon, Ares, STE or Perseus device
- Optional: connect additional sensors in series via a hub with 2 RJ11 ports (max. 60 m total length per active port)
- Have the sensor automatically detected in the device setup
- Configure limit values and alarms for temperature measurement in the device
