The HW group probe Pt100 TG8 is a pure Pt100 measuring probe (Pt100/A) with a measuring range of -50°C to +200°C, a 2-metre silicone cable and a stainless steel sensor housing. Unlike the ready-made Temp-1Wire or Temp-485 sensors, the probe Pt100 TG8 itself has neither an RJ11 connector nor a built-in 1-Wire or RS-485 converter: the cable ends are intended for connection to a terminal block.
The probe is therefore designed as a component that is operated together with a suitable converter or directly on a device with a Pt100 terminal input (e.g. the Poseidon2 4002). It is, for example, part of the complete set “Temp-1W-Pt100 Cable”, which supplies the probe together with a 1-Wire-UNI converter (Converter 2xPt100 1W-UNI). The probe Pt100 TG8 is offered as a single version – there are no variants or options for this model.

The probe Pt100 TG8 provides the pure measuring technology of a Pt100 sensor without specifying a particular communication interface.

How the probe Pt100 TG8 is constructed
The probe consists of a measuring tip with shank, a connection cable and open cable ends for terminal block connection; it is designed for operating temperatures of -50°C to +200°C (0–100% RH) and a storage environment of -30°C to 60°C (5–95% RH).
Pt100 measuring tip with shank (stainless steel)
The actual Pt100/A measuring element is located in a slim stainless steel shank that can be immersed directly into the medium to be measured or attached at the point to be monitored (design “With Shank”).
2-metre silicone cable
A robust, heat-resistant silicone cable runs from the measuring element to the terminal block connection and allows flexible mounting of the measuring tip away from the evaluating device.
Terminal block connection
The cable ends are intended for direct connection to a screw terminal block – unlike the RJ11 plug variants of the Temp-1Wire product range, the probe Pt100 TG8 does not have a ready-made connector.
No integrated converter
The probe Pt100 TG8 supplies a pure Pt100 resistance signal and itself contains no electronics for conversion to 1-Wire or RS-485. A separate converter module or a device with a Pt100 terminal input is required for this.

The probe Pt100 TG8 is not intended as a standalone, ready-to-use sensor, but as a replaceable measuring probe within a larger system.

Installation in a few steps
The probe Pt100 TG8 is connected via its open cable ends to the terminal block of the evaluating device or converter.
- Position the measuring tip at the desired measuring point or immerse it in the medium to be monitored
- Connect the cable ends to the terminal block of the converter or device according to the Pt100 connection assignment (2- or 3-wire)
- For greater cable distance between probe and terminal, use a 3-wire connection to compensate for the line resistance
- Configure and name the probe on the device or converter
- If required, set alarm limits for the measured value
